    Amazing bike
  4. I'm a die hard Suzuki guy and I think they make some of the best bikes in the business. But, as of now they only sell the RM85, RMZ250, and RMZ450.... How can they even survive? They don't make any bikes for young riders, and the ones they do have, or had, (minus the drz70) were made by Kawasaki. I don't get why they would even sell another brands bike as their own... it makes no sense. And as far as pro teams go, no one is riding Suzuki and the don't even have a 250 team. I see this trickling down to the local level too. Suzuki's are rare- no one wants to ride a Suzuki because they don't see any top amateurs or pros riding them, and they don't offer the support most other brands do. I'll always ride Suzuki but it just seems like they do not care anymore.
  5. Just checking fluide level on grandsons 2004 RM85 and noticed what appears as thick grease build-up under center portion of rubber on cap. Fluide looked clean and full, so I whiped it off and checked at end of day. Same thing. This time I drained transmissionf fuide (still clear) and Radiator fluide (still nice green, clear and full) So here is what I`m thinking. First, maybe anti freeze is getting old. Second, water pump/seal starting to go bad.(but no milky oil) Third, head gaskets leaking. I have no experiance of this one happening to me, and the fluide level was still full. But, I question if the exhaust is the cause.
  6. BREA, CA - May 19, 2014 - (Motor Sports Newswire) - Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (SMAI) introduces the new 2015 Suzuki RM-Z450, engineered with new race-proven features to boost riding and racing performance from the gate drop to the checkered flag. Suzuki also announces the return of the Suzuki RM85 for 2015, as well as the Suzuki RM-Z250. Younger riders and their parents will be delighted with the return of the Suzuki RM85 (Price TBD) for 2015. Combining two-stroke power with Suzuki-only handling, the 2015 RM85 returns to put smiles on faces, whether standing on the podium or just riding with family and friends. The RM85’s liquid-cooled two-stroke engine and six-speed transmission deliver superb throttle response and smooth overall delivery. Disc brakes front and rear provide ample stopping power, and the 17-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear keep this bike sized just right for young riders, from up-and-coming racers to those who love the trails. The complete line of 2015 Suzuki RM-Z and RM motorcycles will be available at Suzuki dealers beginning in July and will all be eligible for Suzuki contingency.

  8. i am new to riding and have just been using a 125 pit bike but am ready to get a proper bike. I'm about 5'3 and 60kgs and don't feel confident on a big bike as i can't touch the floor. i was looking at a crf150r or considering an 85 as a step up before eventually getting a big bike. can anybody help me with advice on pros cons etc? 🙂
  9. Im debating between a Rm85 vs a Kx85 I know i can buy a kx100 or kx85 its just that i can buy a leftover 2020/2019 rm85 from a dealer for 3,800 some will say the rm's design and parts are not as modern and im not saying thats not true but i would be grateful and happy with either bike I would just like some advice or info from other people who have had both or one of them

  18. So I've got a 2015 rm85 that I absolutely love. I started out on a crf150f and ended up trading with a good friend for the 85, but it's my first ever 2 stroke. The first day ripping it was amazing. I had all the confidence from the comfort I felt on the new 85. Then I wrecked, took a handle bar to the neck, and ever since I've been weary of the power band kicking in. I wanted some advice, other than, "you just ride it." Cause I have some questions... 1. Will riding the 85 too slow (not in the band all the time) cause premature failure of the rings? 2. How much differently do I need to ride this bike? I loved the luxury of a steady throttle on my 4 stroke, but this 85 can't be ridden the same. I've been told that too slow will foul a plug, but too heavy and steady on the throttle in a single gear really winding it out for too long could blow the top end. 3. Any tips for trail riding and deep ruts? I'm going to Durhamtown again soon and want to be ready this time. 4. Does loading it up and fouling a plug run the risk of damaging anything other than having to replace the plug? 5. How do you handle track riding? I see a lot of guys fluttering the clutch, but I don't understand why. I know it keeps the rpms high and in the power band, but does that cause the back tire to chop by engaging and releasing the clutch so frequently? Thanks in advanced for any tips. I'm a new rider and a mom, so I gotta be safe out there and take any advice I can get to put to good use. 😁
  19. I have yet to get my rm 80 running, I noticed when I push my bike in gear and hold the clutch it does nothing, the clutch doesn’t take the bike out of gear. I took apart the clutch plates and they looked good no notches or damage, I cleaned them of old oil and put new oil on them. I am just confused at this point
