    Suzuki RMX250 (1998)

This is actually a 2000 rmx250, but they only had them in japan, Australia and New Zealand so it wasn't an option in your bike finder.<br />Really quick & super reliable have somewhere around 120 hours since last rebuild. Renthal bars and an msr clutch lever and perch are the only mods. 10/10 would ride again.

    1989 RMX 250

hey guys i'm fairly new to the forum. i have decided to join seeing as how im always on here looking stuff up all the time. Anyways i recently purchased what the guy listed as a 94 rm 250, after running the VIN i found out it was an 89 RMX. it was missing almost all the plastic, also not in running condition. after tearing the top end apart to check it out i discovered that the piston was almost brand new. i could stilll read the serial numbers. i have put a top end rm gasket kit on the bike, as well as cleaned the carb. i got it to run today, however there is a pretty good amount of smoke coming from the exhaust. after shutting it down i noticed oil had dripped from the silencer down on to the swing arm. i fear it may be the crank case seals, has anyone ever experienced this?

My completely restored, better than new, 1996 RMX 250. Every nut, bolt, washer, and slightly worn part, all new (or soon to be new). Love these bikes The last of the Suzuki 2 stroke enduros... Mods include, Custom Zeeltronic programmable Ignition (PDCIS-MX11T) Custom Welded, wide squish band, high compression head. Pro Circuit Platinum 2 pipe, with TurbineCore2 Spark Arrestor. Ported cases. Boyesen RAD valve. DR-Z 400 forks with stock .44 springs swapped out with .40 springs. BRP top clamp. Driven oversized front rotor. Braking rear rotor. Galifer SS brake lines F&R. Brembo Front master cylinder (better hydraulic master to caliper ratio). Maier front disk and fork protectors (fits perfect with O/S rotor). Ricochet skid plate and (not pictured) Acerbis X factor hand guards. Hammerhead gear selector and IMS super stock O/S footpegs. Guts Racing Seat cover and soft foam (Very unhappy with the fit and quality of stitching with this cover!!!) Glad I bought a new/used pan, and kept my original seat... Floating ground stator mod, Baja Designs R/R, LED tail, and GTR Gen 3 LED Headlight. And, TT Voyager trip computer (not installed yet). Once I’m done finishing off this rear tire it’ll be replaced with a MX3S, and a new Excel rim with SS spokes to match front Also, will be soon replacing the long body PWK with a new late model YZ Power Jet/TPS PWK carb to take full advantage of the 3D ignition maps, and the rest of the awesome features of the Zeeltronic ignition...

    1998 Suzuki RMX250

Hello Guys, Im new here so Im not sure if im posting at the right place, but please rectify me if its not... Anyway, I've Bought a RMX250 (its either a 1997 or 1998 year) for nearly nothing from a guy, he said that the crank seized - Bike was stripped already, but apparently was running before the seize... wich I doubt.. a short history as from when I got the bike... The wiring was a mess, so i ripped it all out, and start nearly fresh. I changed the crank and conrod as a set, main bearings, seals on crank, piston and rings. After assembly, Ive checked if my wiring is working, and sure enough it have a spark (although it is not as strong as I would thought...) Tried to start the bike, and I kicked my bum off, with nearly no luck.. Eventualy it appears that something happening, but just a kind of starting and some smoke. After a while I tried to crash start it, pulling it with the car, off we went. This however was TOTALLY unsuccesful. It sounds like the kill switch is off or something, not even one backfire!! or something? Please guys, can somebody help?? This looks like such a great bike, but this thing is driving me nuts, I cant imagine what else will casue this? Does somebody perhaps have a wiring diagram? I cant find a 1997/1998 RMX manual, but got hold of a RM250, but the colors from what I have is different... Thanks Guys, appreciate your time. Gert.

    Suzuki RMX250

I am starting this thread for all RMX250 owners. I am in the middle of a project that I think could be very educational for all of us. I have recently been given an 1989 Suzuki RMX250, unfortunately the previous owner, because he had no interest in a top end rebuild, let it rot in his back yard in the Arizona desert for about 5 years so you can imagine the condition it is in. At this point I have the bike completely torn down to the frame. The swingarm, linkage, and shock have been inspected, bearings cleaned and repacked or replaced. The front suspension and steering stem are holding me back at the moment. After disassembly I found both fork springs where broken in several place and one fork tube had blown its seal long ago and was very rusty. I already ordered and received the seals so I installed them. I find myself at a halt in this project because my local shop is struggling to find OEM springs. But, I read a thread here on Thumpertalk that mentioned 2 years after the bike was released it got upgraded forks. So now I find myself wondering if I want OEM fork springs and these rustly old fork tubes. So I open this as the first topic of discussion in this thread. What other RM or RMX fork tubes will fit my 89 RMX250? And also I thought it would be interesting to take a vote to see what was the most popular year for the front suspension. I hope to have I interested some of you in this project, and I will continue to post my progress, pictures, questions and things the that I learn as continue on. So stay tuned to this thread I believe it will develop into a very useful reference for many users as this is a complete rebuild top to bottom.
