  1. Just picked up a 2017 KTM 300 EXC and looking to get back into the trail riding action. I've spent the last several years running snowmobiles and since real snow is out of the question here decided to jump ship. Let me know if you got room for one more in your pack čÖé Thanks, Mike
  2. A few calls have been coming to GERA wanting mini scores. We have had them up since Labor Day, apparently inconspicuously, on the Greenville Enduro Riders Assoc. website at the following link: http://greenvilleenduroriders.com/web/r ... try-scores They are also on setra.org under the "results" section. Thanks for coming everyone!
  3. I am transferring down south to either Clemson University or The University of South Carolina in the Fall and was wondering if there are any motocross tracks near those schools? I would like to try and bring my bike with me and keep it in storage but here in NY the riding/racing season is generally May-September which is mostly when the school year is over. I am assuming the riding season down there is a bit longer correct? Any district or racing series websites for SC I can check out? Thanks to anyone who responds in advance, just trying to check out my riding options down there!
  4. If you're looking to try something a little different this fall, I'm putting on a sprint enduro at the Big Buck Farm in Union, SC (home of Big Buck GNCC and most recently starting point of LBJ Enduro). It will be a two day event, but you can race either one of the two days. We'll have two special tests--one a grass track test and the other an enduro test. Tests will be roughly 3 miles each, similar to what you'd find at a World Enduro or the ISDE. Depending on turnout and exact test length, you should get to ride each test 4 times. We've got a bunch of great pros committed: Kailub Russell, Josh Strang, Andrew Delong, the Baylor brothers, Russell Bobbitt, and the tallest fast guy from Georgia I know, Alex McRee. All pre-entries before Sept. 29th receive a free event t-shirt. All entries get a $10 Rocky Mountain gift card. Hope to see some of you out there! If you have any questions let me know. For more info checkout our website atwww.fullgasenduro.com
  5. Trying to get my son a jump next season, he'll be 6 in December, he wants to make a run at Loretta's next year, but being a Michigan rider the winters really hurt us, so we're looking for a couple of tracks that do open riding 7 days a week, that we would be able to come down to once a month and ride. looking to stay within 8hr-12hrs away from Michigan. Thanks
  6. Planning a trip to SC and haven't been to either Enoree or Manchester in years. Can someone who's been recently tell me of any changes, news, closures, etc?
  7. I was looking at potential places to ride with my son today - apparently the owner of TNT passed away a few months ago and so TNT is closed until further notice. I was bummed to hear this. Can anyone else confirm this news? I found this info on Rider Planet. The TNT facebook page states it is open today, but there are no posts since June.
  8. Interested in finding other dual sport riders in the Charleston / Mt Pleasant areas to ride various places. I have been riding the dirt roads in the Francis Marion Forest and am looking for other places to explore.
  9. http://savannah.craigslist.org/mcy/2232723301.html I've got a name- they answered email. they say this bike is an '03 that they bought new. It's not. Looks like an '05 to me. The frame has been painted black.
  10. There are a few threads for South Carolina riders but from what I can see, these are all dirt riders. While I do have a YZ250F, I just recently acquired a DRZ400SM...and it's awesome! So, who here rides a sumo in SC? I live in Charleston but currently work in Sumter during the week. I am either in Charleston or Charlotte on the wkends. I am also off most fridays if anyone wants to get up.
  11. Since this is the first national of the year and the rows are full, who amongst the SE is going? Im made the cut on row 56 and am looking fwd to it. The Sandlapper was my last enduro before I joined the Suck in 94 so it is going to be bittersweet. My racing buddy back then has since developed parkinsons and moved away. We both ran out of gas then luckily another dudes wife was at a rd crossing and gave me enough to ride to the finish, my buddy Jimmy wasnt as lucky and pushed his bike quite a ways. We were so worn out we had to get help to load the bikes in the truck, one of the few times I regretted having a lifted truck. I still remember the dude that gave me gas he had a turkey feather attached to his helmet.
  12. The first meeting of the Coastal Off-Road Riders Association (CORRA) was held last night at Charleston Powersports in North Charleston. We had 75 folks in attendance and our brand-new association has 26 new members. We are very happy with this turnout. Our thanks to the staff of Chas. Powersports for taking such good care of us and making us feel so welcome! Please remember that it is our goal to represent the interests of all off-road enthusiasts in the coastal area. We looked over the info turned in last night and quickly saw that at least 170 individual riders are represented by those who have shown an interest in what we're doing! (And that's a very conservative estimate given that those who couldn't make it last night haven't let us know how many riders are in their households.) And this is only after a little more than a month of activity! That is great news for all of us! Of course, whether you choose to join us or not is a decision you must make. But PLEASE do so! We need members! The challenges facing our sport are enormous. We are totally at the mercy of the US Forest Service for our ability to ride on the public land close to Charleston. The Wambaw Trails are all we have. You have no other options around here unless you are able to spend big money leasing your own land. Every time we turn around, we see more opposition to these public lands being used by OHV riders. Those that oppose what we love doing are well-financed. They have plenty of resources and experience in fighting against OHV use on Forest Service lands. Are we going to continue to sit with our heads in the sand while this happens? Or, will we stand up and fight for our rights? We, the taxpayers of this country, own these lands and we, the taxpayers, finance with our own hard-earned tax dollars our US Forest Service. They exist not only to protect the forests and land, but to manage these lands and resources for the recreational enjoyment of all sorts of outdoor enthusiasts. Thats us! We are paying dearly to be able to have these lands. We're lucky to have them for sure. But we must take an active role in keeping them open and well-managed for us to enjoy. Don't sit back and wait on someone else to do it for you! Get involved. Give of some of your time and energy. There is no greater calling than to be of service to others. And, you might just realize that it makes you feel good, too! Thanks for taking the time to read this. Good riding! -Swampfox
  13. Anyone riding Manchester tomorrow morn (sun)? With the rain last few days it should be in good shape without dust.
  14. Goin to CAW tomorrow! Hit me up with a PM if you'll be there too! čśĆ
  15. What type Terrain track is windy HIll? I was looking at some vids of it on youtube and it appeared to be kinda sand with dirt mix. It looks to be a fun track to really open it up on the straights and the jumps seem to be forgiving. I'm thinking of going down next saturday and practice on it.
  16. If anyone is interested, here is a link for $10 passes to Carolina Adventure World through LivingSocial! https://livingsocial.com/deals/37085?ref=conf-jp&rpi=14940971. Couple days left to get in on this deal. As we all know CAW is expensive and here's a good way to save some dough.
  17. Anybody know if Ranger Randy is going to have Wambaw open for the Labor Day holiday weekend?
  18. What would u guys say r the top 5 best off-road riding spots in the South East? The only ones I know of are Croom, Hatfield mccoy and little Sahara dunes. I put SC as the prefix because I had to put something.
