3. Tiger 800XC SE At first glance, the Tiger 800XC SE’s Volcanic Black paint looks like a simple black finish. But when sunlight catches it, red metallic highlights burst through and further complement the fiery red main frame, black exhaust heat shields and black pillion grab rails. The Tiger 800XC SE’s unique characteristics are rounded out with black finished handlebars and matte-finished Diablo Red cockpit infills for a more performance oriented feeling Arriving at Triumph dealerships in March 2014, this special edition maintains the same running gear as the standard Tiger 800XC, powered by Triumph’s 799cc inline triple engine. With a flat torque curve and refined power delivery that’s earned accolades worldwide, the Tiger 800XC is a pleasure to ride in the most demanding on-road and off-road conditions. A sophisticated anti-lock braking system is standard and can be deactivated for off-road riding. Additional standard features include adjustable handle bar position and seat height, a coded-key immobilizer, and rear rack with generous pillion grab handles. The tough steel chassis is equipped with long-travel 45mm upside down front forks and rear suspension unit, plus a 21” spoked front wheel for maximum ground clearance on rough trails. With a high-level front mudguard and sturdy hand guards, the 800XC has been developed to cope with demanding conditions. The Tiger 800XC SE will be available in March 2014 with an MSRP of $12,499 (USD). As with all new Triumph motorcycles, these new models come with Triumph’s two-year, unlimited mileage factory warranty and an extensive range of Triumph Genuine Accessories so riders can tailor their bikes to meet their individual tastes and riding needs.

I bought this bike in June of 2011 with 30,000 miles on it, intending to use is mainly for commuting. In the past few years, it has far exceeded my expectations. At 55 MPG, and rock solid reliability, it has paid for itself three times over in fuel savings over driving my truck.
But it is so much more than a commuter. It is responsive, and with heavier front springs, and an R6 rear shock, it is a dragon slayer.
I already have over 100,000 miles on this machine with just regular maintenance; oil, chains and tires.
This bike has freed me from the bondage of the gas pump. It has allowed me to make 3,000 mile visits to NJ and other destinations.
My YZF600RR owes me nothing, yet it keeps on giving.

The VTR getting some sun out at the pool. This bike was a lot of fun, but just too top heavy. I enjoyed riding my 600's a lot more.

Bought it in '78 from the second owner, drove it until ~95 and parked it in the garage. I'm in the process of resurrecting (not restoring) it but I'm getting weak spark. Points & battery (new) seem good. I'm wondering if the coils are weak. Looking for replacements that won't break the bank.

We bought a pair of these for pit bikes. They both ran awesome. I sold one of them after my dad died. Then mine sat for a while and now i have trouble getting it to run. The one I sold went to a buddy of mine, and I know it still runs great.

First bike I've ever ridden on. I was 2 (Thanks Dad!) Once I turned 18, my father passed this on to me. I've since put over 30000 miles on it and it has many more left in it. This bike shines up great and is always good for confusing stupid teenagers in their Imports donning giant can exhaust... This bike is faster than it looks. Tons of torque and plenty of HP to make the wife grab on tighter!

    Yamaha SR400 (2016)

New thumper in the garage. Smaller than the DR650SE traded-in on the Kawasaki Versys. Bigger than the TW200 still in the garage. I liked the Standard Japanese Motorcycle format of the SR400. A 500 would have be preferred. The "runner up" option was a Suzuki S40. It was just a bit too "squatty" and still employs a standard carburetor. SR400 is fuel-injected. A better option in my neighborhood at 4600 ft elevation. It's my "big kid" scooter. I have a Harley Fat Bob, Yamaha Roadliner, Kawasaki Versys, Harley Sportster and Kawasaki VN900 if a freeway trip is required. When fully broken in, the bike can achieve 95 MPH at the RPM limit. Local freeways are 80 MPH, so it would be pushing hard all the time. The roadbikes are loafing at that speed. The SR400 is a fine bike for local streets.
