  1. MURRIETA, CA – December 11, 2014 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – KTM Motorsports was excited to officially kick off the Supercross season at the team launch held in Murrieta, California (USA) yesterday with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, alongside satellite teams BTO Sports and Troy Lee Designs, whom unveiled the 2015 Factory Edition SX machines that have been specifically produced for the Supercross championship. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s new team members Justin Hill and Dean Wilson with Roger De Coster Red Bull KTM Factory Racing For 2015 Ryan Dungey will once again contest the KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition under the watchful eye of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager Roger De Coster, together with his new teammate Dean Wilson. Dungey was the 2014 runner-up in both the Supercross and Motocross championships, while Scottish-ace Wilson, whom has enjoyed various successes in the lower-capacity series, steps up to the 450SX class full-time whilst joining the KTM factory team. In the 250SX division Marvin Musquin, who won the 250 class at the first ever Red Bull Straight Rhythm race in October, will be looking to build on his strong performances at the end of the motocross outdoor season, in which he finished fourth overall after missing the entire 2014 Supercross championship with injury. The Frenchman certainly has his eyes set on the main prize in the East Coast series, and is joined by Justin Hill, who will race the West Coast series and is seen as a big potential for the future after some promising performances this season. Hill took a career-first Supercross win in 2014 and five podium finishes in the Supercross West 250 series, as well as the win at the Las Vegas East/West shootout. BTO Sports Team owner/manager Forrest Butler with his riders Justin Brayton and Andrew Short BTO Sports KTM Also contesting KTM factory machinery once again is the BTO Sports KTM team with the ultra-experienced and ever popular Andrew Short, who is signed up to race another season aboard the BTO Sports bike along with new teammate, second place finisher during his debut event with the team at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm race, Justin Brayton. Both riders will contest KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition machinery. Troy Lee Designs joins KTM with Shane McElrath, Jessy Nelson and Darryn Durham Troy Lee Designs Joining the KTM family for 2015, as announced earlier this year, is the Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM Team, which is now an official KTM 250 SX-F Factory bike entry for Supercross and Motocross. The incredibly experienced Troy Lee Designs team has many years of history in the sport, and has signed up Jessy Nelson, Shane McElrath and Darryn Durham to contest the Supercross series. The team is certainly looking forward to racing in collaboration with KTM and has been busy in the off-season making the switch to orange machinery. With the new hotly contested indoor series beginning in Anaheim on January 3rd, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team and the officially supported teams were also pleased to present the 2015 Factory Edition models, which have been specifically designed with the READY TO RACE mantrain mind for the new Supercross season. The bike has numerous changes over the standard model, both visually and within the set-up of the machine, and a limited number are available to purchase in the USA. The Factory Edition models’ main features revolve around enhanced mass centralization, overall weight reduction and improved performance with various engine and chassis revisions. Roger De Coster (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager): “It’s been great to present the new Factory Edition bike, which has various revisions over the standard model ready for the Supercross season and so far the feedback from the riders has been really promising. Everybody has worked hard on the development aspect with a lot of input from our team with special attention for SX, as well as from the World Championship team and with the KTM R&D department to create an all-round strong package in both capacities. Within the Red Bull KTM Factory team we have two new riders that have a lot of potential we hope to extract, while Ryan (Dungey) and Marvin (Musquin) are also revitalised for 2015. It’s also great to have Troy Lee onboard with KTM, and we expect for this relationship to evolve over the next few years; they are certainly keeping us busy and this is an exciting prospect for us. We’re also happy to continue our work with BTO Sports, as Andrew (Short) plays a pivotal role in development, and Justin (Brayton) who looks very happy to be back with KTM. It’s going to be a competitive series as usual, but we are looking for ward togetting started in the New Year.”
  2. A1 1St practice/qualifying report: Due to the rain, free practice was cancelled which forced the riders into an urgent situation; use this session to learn the track. If something happens during the session, they quickly became a spectator. The track was covered during the rain which caused lime on jump faces making it a dusty session. Ken Roczen was so good, and definitely the fastest with ease. Trey took a serious crash in the rhythm section, but is alright. Dean Wilson looked good and hit a triple triple that I didn't see anyone else hit, although lap time didn't show him any love. For me the real action was in the 450 B practice where Jimmy Albertson, Nick Schmidt and Adam Enticknap all looked fast. My co-worker at WPS Kyle Gills had a huge crash, but re-mounted and turned in some good lap times. This track is tricky, it looked like perfect grip but had hidden slick spots where water either leaked onto or wasn't covered the last couple days. When the night moisture rolls in, watch for guys to lose their front wheels quite a bit. In the 250 class Plessinger had the fastest time, but Justin Hill looked more consistent. If I had to bet right now he would be my favorite. In the 250 B session Fly Racing Rookie Bradley Taft looked smooth and fast. His time would have put him right around the 10th spot in the A session and he seems to have more in the tank. Get him on your Fantasy teams. 3. Round 1 of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross series is set to kick off on January 7th, here is what we know. Supercross in 2017 is stacked deep with contenders in the 450 class. For this preview I will break the riders into three groups; Championship Contenders, The Pack, and Outside The Top 10. 2017 will be the year Ken Roczen figures how to put it all together in Supercross and win the championship. He has shown us flashes especially when pushing Dungey, even when Dungey looked unbeatable. Roczen left the RCH Suzuki team in favor of Factory Honda which seemed at first like a weird move to make since he dominated the outdoors series on the Suzuki. The thing about this is his deal with Honda was signed before outdoors had started. Ken had past issues with the Suzuki and the team in 2015, but appeared to have those problems resolved. I spoke with an insider at RCH who told me it was all about that money. With the amount of money Honda is paying Ken I think he would have agreed to ride an XR 650! He signed the deal without even riding the bike, yeah they gave him that much money. And while Justin Barcia continues to claim he is the bigger baller on Instagram Roczen’s contract is something Barcia will never see in his career, plus he is overpaid at JGR. Will Ken overcome the same growing pains he experienced when he left KTM after winning the 2014 outdoor title? He definitely showed us at Monster Cup that he is fast, and his crash was a fluke. I expect he will be dominant this season and bring Honda their first title since the Ricky Carmichael days. Marvin Musquin will be Roczen’s toughest competitor this season. Marvin will win races, that’s a fact, but until he figures out how to blast through the whoops like Roczen, Tomac and Dungey he will only be a threat to win on tracks with small whoop sections. His smooth style will make him untouchable on some tracks and cost him time on others. He will win races this year, but unless something sidelines Roczen I don't see him challenging for a title. Ryan Dungey will do what the “Diesel” does best; podium everyone to death and grab a few wins when things are going his way. I don’t see him having the blazing speed of Roczen and Musquin on a week in and week out basis. Dungey is older and returning from his first major injury as a professional (fractured vertebrae). I think he will finish strong, but unless the stars align he doesn’t have a chance without the speed he showed last year. Eli Tomac is a riddle, sometimes he looks like the fastest man on earth but he hasn't figured out how to translate that speed in 450 Supercross. The Tomac camp thought switching to the Kawasaki would fix the issue, but it hasn't been the fairy tale they hoped. In fairness, he did enter last season with very little testing and still recovering from double shoulder surgery. 2017 is a big year for Eli, if he doesn't do something great his star could fade into the Justin Barcia and Trey Canard category. The first few rounds will let us know if he can translate his outdoor speed indoors. Eli has a lot of pressure from Kawasaki this year, as their second rider is Josh Grant who will be lucky to crack the top 10. Eli will have to balance the pressure of being Kawasaki’s only hope and rise to the occasion. Stay tuned, we will be bringing more info on riders and any news leading up to A1. 8. Can't wait to see more of that orange on the podium...
  9. Some interesting stats... "With his win, Dungey joined an elite club, becoming just the sixth rider in Monster Energy Supercross history to reach the 30-win mark (Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, Chad Reed, James Stewart and Ryan Villopoto). The win also extended his podium streak to a remarkable 30 straight. Dungey is now one podium away from tying Ricky Carmichael for third on the all-time list at 87. He will also equal Carmichael's all-time career starts this weekend at 115. *Deep breath. We have more* His eighth win of the season equals the career-best mark he set last season. Goodness, this man is on fire! Oh, and he can clinch a third 450SX title this weekend too. The simplest way is to win. If he doesn’t he just needs to pick up two points on Ken Roczen and not lose 18 to Jason Anderson. Over the last three rounds, Dungey has led 59 of a possible 60 laps."
  10. Dungey-11 Wins in 46 Races Roczen- 9 Wins in 43 Races Pretty similar start...

  12. More rumors confirmed: Jeremy Martin has now officially announced he has signed a two-year deal with GEICO Honda for the 2017 and 2018 seasons of Monster Energy Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross. The deal keeps Martin in the 250 class for 2017, but will move him to a Honda CRF450R full-time in 2018. “I'm very excited to finally announce I've signed a two-year deal with the GEICO Honda team,” said Martin in a press release today. “They're a proven, championship winning team and I'm excited to reach a new level on the 250 next year and continue the relationship through the 2018 season as a rookie 450 rider.” "Everyone at GEICO Honda is happy to have Jeremy Martin coming to our team,” said GEICO Honda Team Manager Mike LaRocco. “He has that burning desire to be great and I look forward to working with him. He's a great addition to our team." Martin, of Millville, Minnesota, won the 2014 and 2015 AMA 250 National Motocross Championships and has won 11 career AMA National Motocross races and four career AMA 250 Supercross events, along with collecting 12 supercross podiums finishes. He's ridden for the Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha team since late in his amateur career, however, so the move to Hondas is a big one. Martin struggled from his usual standards this season fighting fatigue and eventually a rib injury which ended his season early. However the Star Yamaha team continued to roll, with Cooper Webb winning the title Martin had taken the last two years. GEICO Honda struggled outdoors with injuries and inconsistency, but did score the 250SX East Region Championship with Malcolm Stewart. Overall, this is a move from one powerhouse 250 unit to another. But with Star losing Webb (graduating to 450 class) and both Martin brothers (Alex Martin is expected to sign with Troy Lee Designs KTM) this move could really impact the balance of power in the class. We won't have to wait long to see how the new combination fares. Martin will make his racing debut with the team at the Glen Helen MXGP of the USA in the MX2 (250) class next weekend, September 10-11, in San Bernardino, California. http://racerxonline.com/2016/09/01/official-jeremy-martin-to-geico-honda

  19. So Thursday morning I had the most vivid, real like dream I was diagnosed with cancer somewhere but found it early & was okay. I've had dreams like this before about other things & they always turn out to be true. Worse is my wife lying wide awake as I was having said dream worried about something happening to me (counting all the life insurance she's gonna get). The last few days I have been TWEAKING trying to remember which body part so I can demand they check. Last night in the shower I found a pea size growth on the front of my right testicle. I am freaking the &%$#@! out, google is making it worse as I have every symptom they describe for TC (testicular caner) . Urologists better be able to get me in quick like tomorrow when I call!
