  1. I just installed the OE front brake micro-switch on my 2014 XC-W. It's stock switch on the EXC and all of the front brake perch part numbers are common between the XC-W and EXC. As you can see in the picture, the brake lever comes nowhere near engaging the switch. Even with the lever adjusted fully away from the bar (which would be too far for me to reach comfortably), there is still air between the lever and the switch. Obviously, applying the front brake pulls the lever further from the switch. I know I can use a hydraulic banjo switch but I already bought this OE switch and I wonder if there's an adjustment I'm over looking? The picture below is the brake lever at rest. TIA.

Its a 10 year old motocross bike, with very low hours. Perfect for an Enduro conversion. This bike astounds me. One day I'm riding MX on a track, the next I'm riding in the desert on single track. Its unstoppable, and just so easy and forgiving. I love this bike.
  3. Hey Riders, I picked up a used, 2012 DRZ 400s. I love this bike. The previous owner set it up for trails, which was cool because it had many accessories, skit plate, aggressive tires, bark busters, etc. But it seems like the maintenance was a bit of a hack job. There were live, exposed wired under the seat, the chain was beyond loose and clanking, non matching allen screws etc. for parts, etc. That gives you a general context for my question. So I found this wire wrap + switch? up near the computer/dash the wiring sheath looks factory but I have no clue what this is. I have a Clymer manual that does say much/no pics. I thought I would reach out to fellow DRZ owners to see if you know what this is, does it come from factory or some lost accessory? All the the signals, horn, brake lights seem to work. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Ride on.
  4. The 79 Honda XR185 has no battery. All loads are 6volt. So the taillight naturally only has two wires which run to ground and the lighting switch. How could you wire in a brake light switch using 3 wires (ground, brake, tail) into the 2 wires?

Excellent trail bike. low end torque and low gear allow for easy hill and mountain climbing. Lower seat height great for smaller riders. Weight to power ratio is perfect.
  6. Hi all, I recently bought a 2003 DRZ400S have ridden it a few times on short road rides. Today I took it on its first dirt ride, about 15 minutes into the bumpy ride I tried getting up a steep hill. I had to give it quite a bit of gas in first and not long up the hill I noticed that the bike wasn't responding to me giving it throttle then it died. Lights went out, and I had no power. Speedo, dash etc. Had nothing. I tried to bump start it and could get it going for a couple of seconds but opening the throttle did nothing and it died again. I checked the battery connection and everything seemed fine. After rolling back down the hill a ways I noticed the LED lights in the speedo turn on for a split second and jiggling the key a little could get them to come on for just a second. Anyone seen an issue like this? Is it a bad ignition?
  7. Hey all... Help a girl out. I had a blonde moment and crashed on a forest road in 4th gear. I knocked the daylights out of my bike (and also broke a collarbone.) Summary of damage to bike: - the bike starts in neutral but cuts off immediately if I put it in gear. - electric starter doesn't work (only clicks) - gas throttle sticks open - someone told me my handlebars might be damaged but I don't see any cracks. Maybe it just got misaligned. - clutch lever wonky angle - broke the shit out of the speedometer screen - damage to body - broken headlight, shaved off mirrors Here are my questions: 1. Is the gear problem due to my safety switch? How do I fix it? 2. How do I tell if my handlebars are bent 3. Why is the electric starter clicking (bike sat only 10 days since crash. Battery is new.) 4. How do I fix throttle sticking problem Bike is a 2015 beta alp 200 (basically exactly the same bike as a DR200). 5. How long before I can ride again with this collarbone situation ❤️
  8. Good evening to all! Can anyone advise me on a light setup for my bike? I bought a KTM light from a guy and can’t figure out the wiring from the light to the pull switch. One plug(shown in the photo matched perfect but I don’t understand which other wires get it to light up. Thanks so much for any diagrams or wire colors or anything to help me shed light on the world. Cheers!! Sim
  9. I have a 2008 klx450r that I bought used last year. 3rd owner. First guy had the bike shop install a baja designs blinker/kill/headlight switch along with turn signals and rear brake light. I want to add a keyed ignition/kill switch. I bought the baja part I need from TT and it seems a simple fit...but it doesn't work. I have contacted Baja and they don't know whats wrong. There was a product change recently so that might be the problem. Has anyone on here added the ignition switch to their bike?
