Great Bike but hard to find parts for. Currently has some small electrical gremlins but doesn't affect the running. Has a ton power and had no problems with the fuel injection.

Just what I wanted, a CA-legal, plated dirtbike. Besides the weight, my biggest complaint is the close ratio gearbox. 1st is too tall for technical stuff and 6th is too short for highway cruising.
  9. Looking into buying my first dirt bike, street legal. I am looking to commute some (no highway speeds) along with hitting the trails every now and then. I've come across a Husqvarna 2011 TE 450 with 2600 miles, asking for $4k. The other bike I came across was a 2002 CRF 450R, with new top and bottom end which has 10 hours on it. He's asking for around $3.5k but including a little trailer for it and some MX stuff. Both bikes are street legal & plated. Not sure what would serve better as I am fairly new in this field. Which one would be better?

Nice, reliable on/off road bike built in Italy by MV Agusta. Over 500 hours on the engine now, and still going strong.
  11. Hey guys, I have 07 te450 I bought new back in 07, I rode it for sparingly to say the least it only has 800 miles. I'm getting ready to sell it now and I have no idea what these are worth. I know it was the last year te with carburetor which some people prefer and it has low miles like I said. What should I ask?

Good dirt bike for having a plate. I bought the bike in 2006 to replace a DRZ. It was the only decent bike out there with a plate. Has been very reliable

  22. Discovered a crack in the carburetor's main jet casting. This whiz says cracks can be repaired. Heard rumor that a Yamaha carb can be used as a compatible substitute. What's your opinion? More info about my 2007 Husky TE450: Starts easy and runs well cold Runs rich, smells rich, atrocious gas mileage When hot, chopping the throttle stalls the engine Also stalls easily in low RPM conditions (tight trails, etc.) Idle does not change when adjusting mixture screw Troubleshooting: Disassembled carburetor. Very clean inside Cleaned all parts again. Checked for aftermarket jets. They are factory (#50, #180). Carb diaphragm base plate was warped due to over-tightening. Replaced both diaphragm and base plate, squirts like a snake now. Carb floats were set high. Adjusted to lower setting. Needle clip set to 5. Changed to 4. And then we found the crack... She's a pain in the ass Craigslist bike but when it runs properly, it's the bomb. Appreciate your advice here at the fix/sell fork in the road.

suits the bill for me. An occasional blast in the weekend, and a handfull of long offroad trips per year. only thing needed was a Clark tank.
