1 reviewBeen abusing Tekrider's latest creation, the "Crossover" vest, for almost a year now. Overall I've been impressed and really like the vest. The vest is geared towards mountain/backcountry snowmobilers and adventure/enduro/dualsport dirt riders. It offers a ton of ventilation, is cut taller for protection while standing up on the machine, and is designed for comfort when wearing a backpack. For those of you who wear neck braces, this vest is compatible with them. Fit and finish is what you'd expect from Tekrider - Their gear's expensive because it's worth it. You won't be disappointed. Unbelieveable airflow. By far their most heavily ventilated product. Compatible with most neck braces. Put the "Protection" into "Chest Protector". Fits great, cut taller for standing up while riding. Comfortable with a pack, and Comfortable wearing all day long. Dirt is where this vest really shines, even more than in the snow. With protection like my snocross racing vest, and more ventilation than my Freestyle, it's the best of both worlds.
All, After much research I am planning to switch to a TekVest, instead of the Leatt 5.5HD Pro I have been using for the past 3 years. I have seen a lot on the TekVests, but little on the newer Bushmaster. Does anyone have one? How do you like it? I am not interested in other armor at this point, just the TekVest and I am deciding between the Bushmaster, Crossover, and Rally Max. Pics below are from their site, not something I own.
I was riding a tight single track about 4 months ago with a friend , On this trail there were quite a few downed trees we had to ride over , most between 8 -15" in diameter, should have been no problem. On the last Tree i was about to ride (12-15") over I made a mistake and my rear wheel didn't climb over it. I fell sideways on the tree and landed on the point of a straight branch that was about a foot long and 3" in diameter. This branch went right between the side slit in my EVS chest protector. I broke two ribs and was hurting bad. I was lucky that it wasn't a couple of inchs lower and went under my ribcage as it would have impaled me and i probably would not have made it out alive. So i'm looking for a chest protector with more rib protection and i'm not finding any. I have looked at quite a few and they all seem to leave that area vulnerable. Anyone with suggestions? I thought the Fox titan body suit would , but it doesn't.
