    Handlebar installation help needed

Ok so, I'm installing my new pro taper se cr high bend handlebars. I'm stuck at a point where I can't quite get the cover that covers the throttle cable on tight without making it so the throttle won't turn back after turning the throttle. Did I screw up with drilling the hole for the throttle tube? Or possibly do I need to put more grease inside of the cover? Anyone getting back to me as soon as possible would be much appreciated.

    throttle tube replacement

So, I just hooked up my 02 xr400 with somenew Renthal bars, and grips. I found my throttle tube to be buggered up. I was having trouble finding an oem replacement, and not much luck aftermarket. Any suggestions? Also, rode myself numb up at Shasta Lake last weekend. The Chappie park is awesome with great lake view and Mt Shasta as backdrop!

    New Grips/Throttle tube

Here is a pic of the 250L throttle tube. I'm installing new grips but no handguards at this time. Do I need to grind off the nubs on the tube to make it smooth and also grind down the grip retaining flange that sits near the switchgear so the new grips will slide on all the way since they won't have the groove in them to slide up and over the flange?
  4. hi. i read that it is good for crisp response on a motorcross bike to use a throttle tube with a bearing in the end. anyone provide thoughts on this with links on brands and information? byte
  5. Hey guys. The title is pretty much self-explanatory. What should I do, if my throttle gets stuck? The engine stop switch wot work since it only shuts the bike off when its idling. How would I shut my bike off? I looked around the internet and I havent found an answer to this. So guys, how would you shut off a bike thats stuck wide open?

Amazing bike. Slowly turning it into a light-weight adventure bike. Most of the gear I had for camping was previously purchased for ultra lightweight hiking, so the weight I put on the rear subframe would be minimal.

    G2 quick turn throttle

Has any body tried a g2 quick turn throttle on a CRF450. I realized that I don't don't always turn the throttle all the way when I should be turning it wide open and I think this may be the key. Plus I heard that the bushing inside the throttle tube makes the throttle very smooth. Any thoughts?

    Yamaha YZ250F (2001)

I started off when I was 13 or 14 with a XR100 -- sold it when I was 15 or so. Didn't get back on a bike 'til I was 26, and bought a CRF230F. I thought the thing was pretty quick, in comparison. I then got lucky and obtained a YZ250F. I figured it couldn't be much quicker, only a 26CC difference. Wow, then I learned how much different the head and compression and everything else is on these 4 Stroke 250s, vs the 4 Stroke 230s. This bike scares me :) I lift up in 2nd gear without trying! I rated it 4 out of 5 stars as I use it for trail purposes, and can only find a few things the bike doesn't have for trail riding (although it is an MX bike, and might be more of a 5 out of 5 star bike for trail purposes) -- no electric start, not very high top speed (small back sprocket from factory, for MX purposes), the bike heats up really fast and doesn't like to idle too long, no kickstand, clutch engages quickly and doesn't like to be feathered much, harder to maintain than a 230.
  10. Okay, you guys who have switched out your handlebars, how did you get past this part? I used a #2 phillips and it just stripped both of them. Went to a #1 and it made it worse. I'm open to ideas. Whoever installed them never wanted it to come off. Ever.
