I am wondering what size screws I will need for my ktm 300. I tried finding pro golds web site to see if they had info but can't find the site. Also any tips on patterns ? I will mostly be doing pond riding and I'm looking for a tight pattern so I don't loose as many screws. Thanks.

I just heard that my stay here in Europe is about to change...to another European location. Hmmm. As some of you know. I was one of the guys who had an ice race track the twin cities metro area. As you might guess. I'm heading for another totally or mostly ice race free winter. So get out there! And post up your experiences. My wife is in Duluth right now, she dove there from the MSP airport. She says that the ice so far is MINT. You guys may just be headed for another great ice season. Do it!

Im looking into getting some studs for some new tires for ice/snow riding. Im planning on putting them in myself. I would by tires with studs already in them but they cots so much more. So my question is how many studs do i need for each tire and how long should they be. Also there are so many studs on the market, how do you know which ones to get? Thanks

I figure i'll get a quicker response here than the general forum. Looking to get these to prolong the riding season, and i can get either the 1/2" or 5/8". I measured the knobs, and it looks like the 1/2" will work well... Is there anyone out there that runs these? I know that there are may threads on hear about kold kutter ice screws but i couldn't find one that answered my question. kold kutter ice screws are made for ice riding. I was wanting to do a bit of trail riding with them also. Would it be fine if i was on a trail of ice and snow, no rocks grass or mud. I might hit the odd rock or bare patch but barely at all. It would be mainly hard packed snow and ice. Do you think that they would be fine? Thanks

I got into ice racing a couple years ago. Nothing organized, just some friends having some fun. I studded up some old MX tires and gave it a go. Last year I upgraded to a used Fredette rear tire which is great but it way outperforms my front. So, I want to make a new front for this year. I have access to the right front tire, but I need a liner. I've heard you can use a street bike tire with the sidewalls cut off as a liner. Two questions: 1) what size street tire do I need for a liner for a 21" knobby? 2) what do you use to cut the side walls off? I'm only interested in the Kold Kutter style tires. Not the bolt/concrete screw types. 👍

...I'm considering getting some studded tires for the pig. Last winter I hit a few snowmobile trails and had a blast. How effective are studs on loose snow,deep snow, hard snow packed roads ect. I will not be hitting frozen lakes though. Can you run on dry pavement without fear of crashing, or wearing the studs down too quickly?...thanks. -
Hi, Quick question guys, when I'm installing ice studs, do I have to remove the tire off the rim to fit them ? Or can I just screw 'em in with the tire on ? I am using this method to stud my tires. Cost me under $40 to make them. I don't even know if I am going to like winter riding so if they don't last then no big deal.
