  1. I was greasing the steering head on a 2018 450 and noticed this random threaded hole on the base of the triple clamp. Does anyone have an idea what its there for? Is it some sort of mount?

With over 10 years experience in design, testing and racing we are an industry leader when it comes to triple clamps. We have the experience of working closely with several top level teams and riders to develop a line of triple clamps that offer improved ergonomics, handling and ease of mounting Scotts and GPR stabilizers. Rest assured when you are running a BRP triple clamp setup you are running the very best. Generally you have several options available when selecting a triple clamp such as Solid or Rubber Mounted Bar Mounts (Most models) Bar Clamp Configuration (Moto, SX, Scotts or SUB Mount) Bar Mount Handlebar Size (7/8" or 1 1/8") Bar Mount Height (1.240", 1.360", 1.640") Bar Position (Relative to Stem "RTS") Special Offsets (Available for certain models only) BRP triple clamps are the only triple clamps on the market that are exclusively designed for mounting a stabilizer. We have the ability to mount a stabilizer on most late model mx, off road, dual-sport, super moto and adventure bikes including mini's. BRP triple clamps are manufactured to the highest quality standards from 6061-T6 billet aluminum making our triple clamps far stronger than the OEM units and comparable in weight. Finished in our signature black anodize. Bar Clamp and Bar Mount Configurations We offer 4 different bar mount configurations; Moto, SX, Scotts and SUB Mount. The Moto, SX and Scotts bar mount configurations are available for both 7/8" and 1 1/8" bars and the SUB Mount is only available for 1 1/8" bars. Handlebar adapters that allow 7/8" bars in 1 1/8" bar mounts are available for those of you who prefer running the standard 7/8" handlebar. Handlebar Position Options All triple clamps and bar mount configurations are different. At BRP most of our triple clamps offer a farther forward bar position than the OEM triple clamp. That along with the 3 lower bar perch height options and 3mm offset perches you have the ability to configure a handlebar position that works best for you. Along with the image on the right and the bar position charts located on our Bar Position Page, you should have all the information you need to select the bar position and height that best suits you and your preferred setup. Special Offset Clamps What is a triple clamp offset? Triple clamp offset is the distance measured between the centerline of the steering stem bore and the centerline of the fork bores (see image). Some models can benefit greatly from a reduced offset, by reducing the offset or moving the forks closer to the steering stem you change the weight characteristics on the machine which will give the front end a more planted feel and thus reduce wandering and pushing in the turns. The benefit is a great deal more confidence in the front end allowing you to corner better and charge harder.

GENERAL INFORMATION Very nice billet triple clamps, Makes the conversion to USD forks very easy The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the fact that the front brake hose guide mounting has not been provided or even thought about by the looks of it? I have to work out a way to use the original XR250 brake hose guides or the CRF ones & of course the XR hose guide bolt holes dont line up so some modifying has to be done? Apart from that they are a very nice product

I thought I would add my 93 XR250R to the garage (again) to document what I have done to it, It looked like something you would find at a wrecking / salvage yard when I got it, It was missing the carby, Front caliper, Headlight, Front guard, Side covers & other odds & ends but I could see that it was actually still in very good condition & it just needed the missing parts replaced & a good tidy up, Luckily the motor is good & runs sweet after fitting an XR250L pumper carby which is now jetted to XR250R specs I am collecting the necessary parts to rebuild the top end soon At this stage n XR's Only seat cover & graphics would make it look a bit better Dunlop D605 fitted on the rear XR's Only stainless exhaust Header pipe Custom fitted White Brothers E-Series muffler (If anyone happens to have the discs or a complete maybe damaged E-Series muffler with the discs & Elliptical end cap setup (which would also be a great donor for what I need) laying round please let me know) New RHK fatbar mounts & Tag 1-1/8" fatbars fitted, Makes the ergo's much better for me, A bit taller & looks sweet too New white 15.9L / 4.2 Gal Clarke tank New 42 tooth Renthal sprocket fitted, + I have a spare 44 teeth Renthal sprocket also Just fitted, Baja Designs headlight, Moose skid plate & some XR's Only (Custom/were to suit XR600 oversize IMS) tank decals / Graphics Very close to an engine rebuild now, I have a new 77mm JE piston kit, Cometic gaskets, Brand new in the packet OEM XR250R camshaft, Brand new Honda rocker cover + lotsa other goodies to sort out the rebuild, Looking for a good used 88-95 XR250R cylinder head, Anyone have one laying round? Just fitted some CRF450R forks & a 2010 CRF450R front wheel using a set of Emig Racing billet triple clamps Time to move on & sell this sweet old 93 XR250, Anyone interested send me a PM! SOLD!!! Went to the new owner after he handed me $2750AU, A bargain really He is very happy with it especially being a very different looking & unique XR250, Sad to see it go but I am very happy with my near new 09 CRF450X which takes my riding level way beyond, The CRF450X is a whole lot more of a bike, Anyone looking to do a bit more than just ride trails should definitely step up to a 450X!

This one-piece 1 1/8” bar mount is super light with great strength and torsional resistance in the event of a crash. A great alternative to OEM bar mounts that allow the bars to twist when you tip over. Precision machined from aircraft quality aluminum, there is a 6mm difference between the forward and back mounting positions. We also machine our own stainless steel posts that prevent over tightening, unlike the cheap bolts used by other competing brands. They will fit stock (rear position only) or after market rubber mounted KXF triple clamps.

Scotts/BRP Triple Clamps were given the highest rating of 5 stars in BOTH the Dirt Rider and Motocross Action "Triple Clamp Shoot Outs". These are machined from a 6061 billet block of aluminum and then anodized, to give your model that "Factory bike" look, while increasing performance in strength, stability, steering and add clamping surface. Some off-road bikes have such large, awkward triple clamps, that stabilizer installation and fuel tank options have become very difficult. The Scotts triple clamps are machined to be very attractive and extremely functional, eliminating the majority of problems associated with many after market triple clamps. We also make some triple clamps exclusively that cannot be found anywhere else but at Scotts. These are designed to use 1 1/8" (28mm) oversize handlebars, but can be converted back to standard 7/8" (22mm) diameter bars by using our optional bar-reducers. Use the product index and select “Handlebars” for a full menu of bar selections. The Photo you are looking at is a generic photo to show you the basic components in the kit, but may not be showing the exact kit for your specific bike. The bars in the picture are not included in the kit.Our Triple clamps include the handlebar mounting brackets for the stabilizer (unless you prefer otherwise) and the lower mounting perches. Supercross style barclamps are also available, which can be specified in the comments of your order form.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION As used by Davi Millsaps, Blake Wharton, Jason Anderson of Rockstar Energy Racing. The new RS line is unlike any on the market today. The Rubber / Solid design is the best of both worlds. Proprietary urethane elastomer bushings provide excellent vibration damping characteristics. This strong and abrasion resistant formula withstands over 2200 PSI. These elastomer bushings are contained in machined pockets on the top clamp. Then, precision machined Stainless steel collars are inserted into the elastomer bushings providing a mechanical restraint while still isolating the bar mounts from vibration. The bar mount is then secured with a strong grade 10.9 bolt. The proper torque secures the bar mount and pre-loads the elastomer bushings. Pre-load ensures the bushings completely fill the pockets and isolate the bar mounts. This is a much better system than the previous conical shaped bushings. Also included in the kit is a set of 6061 aluminum bushings. These precision machined solid bushings fit into the pockets in place of the elastomer bushings and create a solid mount system. You decide which mount system you want depending on the type of riding you are doing. Then add your choice of bar mount. Bar mounts are available for standard or oversized bars and three height options in most cases. All feature offset mounting holes for adjusting handlebar location. Top it off with the included one piece bar clamp to tie both mounts together and you have a twist-free Rubber or Solid system. The lower clamp is precision machined from 7075T6 Aluminum (yeild strength of 73KSI). Set includes R/S Top Triple, elastomer and solid bushings, bar mounts, one piece bar clamp, lower triple clamp and hardware. Made in the USA! Stem and bearing sold separately but will be pressed at no charge.
