  1. I've been running the flexx bars for about a year now. I got nothing but great feelings about them. The first ride I noticed how much they helped/eliminated arm pump for me. Last week I had a slight get off on a off camber pile of rocks. Me and the bike dropped about 6' to 8' straight down. My bike landed upside down and the bars took the brunt of the fall. I ended up with bent bars. When I got home I dismantled the bars and found that the throttle side of upper portion of the bars were bent. I was happy thinking it was only one part of the bars that I needed to buy. I called Chris Blais and told him of the part I needed. The next next day he got back to me and told me to ship in all the pieces to flexx. The flexx engineers didn't want to sell me just that one piece, in fear that something else might have been damaged somehow. In short they are giving me a complete set of bars for less then I expected to pay for the bent piece. Chris Blais and flexx demonstrated better customer service then I could hope for. Their compassion for their customers is extremely honorable. Good guys
  2. Has anyone used or had reviews on the ODI controlled flexx bars? I cant budget the actual FLEXX BARS this season and the ODI brand has these Controlled Flex Bars for around $130. Anyone know of these bars or have reviews? Thanks!

This is my 4th CRF450R and my favorite so far. I know it's getting old, but I love it to much to part with it.
  7. Hey all! It's the first I've heard of these bars breaking! I was jumping a little table at a moto track, there was a downed rider on the landing so I swerved instantly as I hit and went down rather hard. they had a flagger our but it took him.6 seconds to realize the rider was down. Oh well. Got up and realized I had broke my left side off completely and shocked me. I didn't think I had gone down that hard. Will post a pic in a bit
  8. Anyone have experience with these three systems? They're all way overpriced for what they are but which seem to work the best at damping? Pros/Cons: Flexx: Heavy as hell, Flex only up/down. Different rates of damping with elastomers. Have to buy new bark busters. $310+~$100 for Flexx-compatible bark busters. $410. TE: Flexx all directions, lightweight. Have to buy new bark busters. $445+shipping/tax with their own recommended bark busters to maintain the proper flex. Most expensive option. From the factory only it seems. PHDS: Get to use your own bars and bark busters. Have to replace elastomers every 60hrs per their recommendations. Bars may slip/move after a crash? Way expensive just for a couple of clamps with elastomers. $234 from Slavensracing and paying extra for the green softest elastomer. I'd prefer to hear from those that have actual on the trail/track experience not just opinions. Anyone?
  9. Bought a pair of bars from them, and they are out of their new style bar pads at the moment, so they shipped me my bars with the old style. They included a note saying they apologize for the difficulty and included me a free pair of grips and a free pair of gloves! I also have the new bar pad in the mail. Totally recommend these guys they are great and have very solid products.
  10. Curious to get some feed back on these flexx bars . Do they really help ? Are they worth the $ ? I'd did a search but all the reviews loom like they are company written or were paid to all say the same thing . I have some wrist and hand issues and was wondering if these would help . Would be mounted on 300xcw
  11. last year i fitted faastco's flexx bars to my beta RR300 which worked a treat on some issues with carpal tunnel, armp pump, a bit of arthritis etc. heaps of guys asked me how did they compare to twisted Engineering's Composi-flex handlebars... so i put the flexx bars on the adventure bike and got some TE bars for the beta RR300. i know there are quite a few posts about both types of bars already but just throwing another opinion into the mix. there are good reviews on the links below, including the main competitor, Flexx bars... existing thumpertalk reviews on the TE bars existing thumpertalk reviews on the Flexx bars and here's my video review. the TE bars come in a range of bends and also degrees of flexibility, i opted for the low ktm bend to get minimal sweep, and went with the most flexible option as most of our riding is relatively slow. i assume motocross or extremely fast aggressive riders might opt for the stiffer versions. the first thing I noticed is you don't really notice them. even with the softest 3x option, you simply don't feel the flex unless you are really looking for it over some sharp bumps. the website claims the bars will absorb impacts, shock and vibration, and they definitely do a great job on all three aspects. one thing i must stress, i think it makes sense to look at other possible solutions first before buying any set of flexible bars. e.g. i worked through a pile of things for my arm pump, carpal tunnel and arthritis first. these things helped a lot, but fitting flexible bars was part of the final solution. if you buy flexible bars before trying other things first i think you may be putting the cart before the horse! this is just my personal opinion, but worth thinking about...
  12. I'm 48 years old (49 next month) and ride mostly in the high desert of Ridgecrest, CA. Anyhow, my wrists have been starting to bother me and in my quest to reduce the harshness felt while riding I purchased some Flexx bars and Scotts damper (on BRP sub-mount) last year. While that configuration helped tremendously, I decided to take it a step further and installed the new BRP Rubber Mounted Sub-Mount and have ridden twice with the configuration. I don't know if it's the placebo affect or what, but the vibration and harshness are virtually non-existent now. My only worry with this new configuration was the added weight (Flexx bars and Scotts damper are already pretty heavy). I'm not sure what the combined weight is, but I can tell you that after going through a bunch of whoops, jumps, etc. the weight and balance of the bike doesn't bother me one bit! Anyhow, just wanted to share this information as I could find nothing posted about it when I decided to install these items. Here's some pictures of the installation and of my 2012 KTM 350 SX-F (with '13 plastics). Cheers.
  13. What aftermarket bars would be the closest thing to stock for 2014 500 exc?
  14. What's the hype with these? And why would someone pay $350 for bars and mounts?
  15. Fitted my over bar mounted Scott's steering damper onto my flexx bars with the extension bars however the bar bad doesn't fit over the damper! Any ideas please?
