Owned this bike almost a year it has been the best bike I have ridden, and owned can go anywhere I point it. Just had DeVol Suspension go through and set my suspension up to my weight. the bike now handles very well. Still got some mods to do but in time i will get to them.

I love the DRZ, it does everything I want a bike to do. Some of my other mods that aren't detailed below are the Vibranator vibration canceling bar inserts, flush mount rear turn signals, ProMoto billet rack, and a tool box from a Yamaha XT225.

2005 SUZUKI DRZ400S, pulls hard great all around bike, I just bought this, need better tires, looking Dunlop 606, front not sure yet, working on suspension for my height weight front & rear, I'm leaving it the s model, not interested in super moto, it looks kool, but i like the back country, street tires won't cut it.cant wait for more seat time bike works better with that pipe & moose jet kit, so far pretty dam good strong bike street or dirt trails service rd,

I love this thing. It cruises great on road and does even better off. She's a little heavy but if my 130 lbs can muscle her around you all will do great.

So far I don't have ANY complaints! This bike is ready to race in the woods minus protection (hand guards, skid plate). The suspension is plush, brakes are great, and the gearing is pretty darn primo.

Suzuki 00-15 DRZ 400 E/K/S/SM Skid Plate Unabiker DRZ400 Skid plates are the perfect complement to our rad guards for your DRZ. We’ve spent the past 12 years beating on our own DRZ and have learned a thing or two about the kind of protection our DRZ needs. Our Unabiker DRZ400 skid plate is cut from .125” 6061-T6 aluminum to keep the weight down and the strength high. The right wing covers the water pump and the vulnerable part of the rad hose. The right wing also protects the lower part of the clutch cover. The left wing comes up to the edge of the ignition cover. We spent considerable effort to make sure all gaps between the plate and motor are as small as possible to cut down on the amount of mud that can get in and noise that can get out. Our Unabiker DRZ400 skid plate is available in bare aluminum or anodized blue, black or red.

Just picked up my first street legal bike. Goal is to dual sport it where ever I can as soon as I finish the break in miles. I'll update the review then.

As this bike comes stock, it is neither a good road bike, nor a good dirt bike. You can make it better at either one at the sacrafice of the other. I wanted a trail bike to explore the national forests around where I live. The problem is they are closed to off highway vehicles except for small designated areas. The beauty of this bike, is that after a few mods, (tires, sprockets, armor) I have a pretty legit dirtbike with a license plate. Where I live (California) you can no longer convert a dirt bike to be street legel. Its cheap to insure and I can still ride it around town and short trips on the freeway. One negetive you always hear about the drz is that its heavy - true if your lil guy;-)

Just purchased "new" 2017 Suzuki DRZ400S a couple months ago. I have done some minor Modifications to it and will record the modifications done in the future. I am now learning how to Update in Thumper Talk and hope to contribute more as I get used to this bike. I love it so far.

Our rad guards utilize our 2 piece construction, featuring a face guard and rad brace in one stout package. We've upped the protection by using solid aluminum rods on the face guard, making it virtually impossible to squish your rads from a side impact. The brace bolts up flush on the side of the rad and anchors at the fuel tank mounting points. These braces make it virtually impossible for your rads to fold back in a crash. Our DRZ400E/K rad guards are compatible with most aftermarket fuel tanks currently available.

Easy to ride. Upright and tall riding position is good for making you visible to other motorists. Good bike for a beginner, albeit a bit heavy...
