Hi, I have had a XR100 for about 2 years. I am fixing it up really nice and was gonna sell it to get a YZ125, but my friend has an old YZ250 his dad used for racing. We are planning on trading because he is rather small and i am a lot taller. I was wondering if this would be too much bike for me. I am 5'9" and 126 pounds. He weighs around 100 and is about 5'1" and thought it was a reasonable trade.

2003 XR100. Installed new FMF exhaust, new carb (OEM size) with 105 main and 40 pilot, and UNI pod filter. Started up first kick and will idle but won't rev up. I referenced the jetting chart on BBR website. Confirmed choke is off. Bike idles smooth and will rev if teisting the throttle slowly, but nothing if twisting the throttle fast. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Looking for the best aftermarket or Honda OEM parts swap to use on a 1993 Honda XR100R. Best bet would be to have disc brake but not necessary, as mine is just a pit bike, and will never be raced. The problem I have is that I have the BBR triple clamps designed for the XR80/100, and would definitely like to keep those, as they are a very nice aftermarket piece. I have found a nice set of 2004 CR85 front forks online, but don't know if these would fit, and even if som if they would be an upgrade over the stock forks. Thanks ahead of time for any and all advice, and suggestions.

Good morning. First post. First thread. Haven't been able to narrow down my question in search, so I figured I would create a thread. I recently purchased a 1993 Honda XR100R to use as a pit bike when I am racing. I am 5'9" and 270 lbs. I was lucky enough to find one being sold by an adult rider, about the same height. Eve when sitting down, and under acceleration, I have about 2 1/2" of squat still usable in the rear suspension. The previous owner basically threw the BBR catalog at the bike, with the exception of the big bore kit. It has the XR80/100 triple trees and fork clamps. BBR cradle, BBR swing-arm, BBR chain guard, re-jetted carb, Modified engine in some way (but not the 120 kit), front fork springs and oil. Aftermarket rear shock and spring. Etc... My question is either now, or later when I add the 120 cc kit; what are the best sprocket changes to do with my weight? I know the bike is severely lacking in take off, and it could use some help on top end; and I know I can only get one or the other with the sprockets. My thinking, (correct me if I am wrong), was to set the sprockets for take off and mid range, and when I get the 120 kit, that will help with the top end. Thanks, ahead of time. Daniel

So I have started fixing up my 81 XR100 I saved from my uncles Junkyard (old lady cleaning out her garage and wanted to get rid of it). I have it up and running but it needs a few things... My question is WILL the number plates from a 81 or 82 XR80 fit on my XR100? I have contacted Honda and not much help from them... I then tried Maier plastics and they have the plastic panels for the XR80 81-83 but that's it and they are not sure they will cross over. They told me to order the xr80 panels and see if they will work and IF i dont scratch them i can return them. Ebay, Craigslist, amazon are a no go. even contacted vintage bike shops in the EU and they had ONE XL side plate but it had just sold... ANY HELP AT ALL WOULD BE APPRECIATED! THANKS!

So my son got a 2002 XR100, he picked up a carb online but not sure it’s the right one, or if it will work. It had a PD on it but the one he got now is a PZ24. Will this work? Is there adjustments or modifications we will need to do to make it work? Need help bad!!! Thanks!!

I’m working on a 1982 XR 100 with no plastics. Obviously as a 40 year old bike, parts are hard to come by. Will the plastics from an 80 of the same year fit? I see those much more often for sale. I’m talking side panels, fenders and number plate, this thing doesn’t have anything. Would it just be best for me to try to fix the two cracked fenders I have and give up on the rest of them? Are there any alternatives?

New member. Reviving a 1997 XR 100R from my childhood.
Jordan Johnson posted a topic in XR/CRF80-200
Just signed up, I'm going to post a rebuild of my 1997 XR100R I used to ride as a kid. I just pulled it out of my dad's shed where it's been sitting for the last 15 years. I'm a 32 year old firefighter from southwest Michigan. I probably got this thing at 7-8 years old. When we put the bike up, I had just thrown a timing chain. We had the chain replaced by a MX shop but at the time I thought something was wrong afterward..the valvetrain was just noisier and it almost sounded like the chain was rubbing the inside of the engine. I didn't ride it much after that and it got put up and forgotten while I was off to college and starting my career. Today I decided to pull it out. I unburied it, pulled it out, and carefully cranked it over. The familiar thump brought back memories. I hauled it home, my truck breaking down for the third time this summer in the process, and my dad and I pulled it apart in about 20 minutes. My next post will have what we found. -
I recently came across a 1986 XR100 for sale in my area and had to check it out. The PO had rebuilt pretty much everything on the bike within the past 2 years with OEM parts (top end, clutch, points, sprockets, chain, tires/tubes, carb rebuild (original carb), and more). I made an offer and once accepted, loaded it up and brought it home. I told my wife the purpose of this purchase was to teach the kids how to ride a bike with a clutch, but really this was more for me, haha. My TW200 (favorite bike I've owned so far) now has company. The XR isn't perfect cosmetically but starts 1st kick and pulls hard, it was well built. My 1st bike as a kid was a 1985 XR80 and jumping on this 100 brings back all the great memories of riding that XR80 back in the late 80's. I can't wait to get on the trails with this thing, it really is a blast. Just wanted to share the pics.
