Is it too picky to ask a dealer when you’re buying a brand new bike to give you one that’s fresh out of the crate instead of the showroom model? Asking since my buddy will be buying a brand new Yamaha YZ450F and is worried about buying the showroom model since the last showroom model he bought had a bent radiator, bent rim, and a cracked subframe and air box. Luckily he discovered all this before riding it and after getting home. The dealer did end up fixing and replacing all those but it took awhile to get all the parts. (Bike was a 2013 KTM 450 XC-F)

Hi everyone. Here is my question. Looking to buy one bike that I can ride trails, vet moto, some single track...northeast rocky terrain. 5'10" 185 lbs...43 years old. Used to( 20 years ago) race mx and harescrambles on a yz125. Recently I have ridden a Yz250 (2005) a 18 xcf250, and a 19 sxf350. The 350 was on a moto track, the 250's were on trails. The 2T definitely had much more instant snap to lift the wheel, ect. Will "fun" ride much more than moto. So many choices, so many videos watched. My top (I think) choices are a Husky/ Ktm300 2Tpi, Yz250x, Beta 200rr factory race, maybe even a YZ125x or ktm 150 tpi...like the Ktm 500xcw, not against 4 strokes at all......a friend also has a sweet Crf450rx for sale....Ideas? I saw videos with ktm150tpi s even having fun on moto.....confused!! Thanks!!!

TT250H 1981 Yamaha TT250H Barn Find Ignition Question
Mohawk Chris posted a topic in Vintage Dirt Bikes
So the other day, i was browsing the interwebs, when I found a guy that pulled a bunch of bikes out of a barn for a one price package, and needed to get rid of some of the bikes... So i got a 1981 Yamaha TT250H bike that what it has, is in pretty good condition, its missing the gas tank, seat, headlight, clutch lever, front break lever, the left hand grip, the left foot peg, the metal protector plate that goes on the bottom of the frame to protect the bottom of the engine (oil plug and front of engine) and the guy delivered it for $250... I immediately put a random spark plug in the boot, put the side of the plug on the side of the block and kicked it over, and i feel a small tickle in my finger, but i cannot see a spark while trying to kick it over and hold the plug, is that small tick in my finger going to be enough to fire the motor? I cleaned out the carb, and it was obviously put away with fuel that was in ever part of the carb, and i looked at the clutch, and the basket looks as if its got maybe less than 100 hours on it, it looked perfect, and the flywheel wasnt "perfectly clean" per say, but it was perfect... And after all this, i do not have a service manual, and would perfer not to spend 60 to 90 bucks on a book I will use once or twice... So does anyone have the ohm measurements +/-10 for the stator coils and the ignition coils primary / secondary? And secondly, what number of NGK / BOSCH / etc plug would I need for this engine? Any help would be appreciated, all i need to atleast get it to run / move under its own power is the clutch cable i ordered in the mail, a spark plug and a clutch lever, one ive ordered in the mail and the other two i can get at a cycle shop near me... So i want to make sure that i have everything squared away to get this thing up and running! Thank you so much! Chris -
Hey everyone, Swap wheels on my 99yz125 with a set from a 99yz250, got the front wheel on and the wheel will not spin - seems to be rubbing on the brakes for some reason. Anyone familiar with this or know what I need to do to fix this? (spacers on the wrong side, bleed brakes, etc.) Thanks!

I recently bought a 2001 YZ250F for $600. Bought some stuff for it, and grand total was $850. The market in CA is about $2200, and I put it up for $2500. I have 5-6 people offering me anywhere from $2000-$2500 cash. My dad is saying that I shouldn't sell it since it's a green sticker, and since it's a 250. I think, I should sell it, and with the money buy a 2002 KTM 250SX. What should I get? Thanks.
