  1. Searching for a 05 and up yz250 two stroke aluminum frame for an upgrade. Let me know if someone has one
  2. Does anyone know of a good set of aluminum radiators?, I have an 03 cr125r. I had over sized aluminum radiators back when i raced 85s but cant remember the manufacturer, not sure if it was Mylers SuperCools or not. My 125s radiators are pretty tweaked but they still work fine. Would like to upgrade them instead of replacing stock OEMs. My stock plastics are under some serious stress on the shrouds radiator bolts, have a Polisport Restyle plastic kit coming in the mail and would rather not have to bend them to make them fit my bent radiators.
  3. Hi, I have a 2018 Honda 450 that I have removed the frame with the intention of getting it hard anodized. Having a bit of trouble getting the last two bits out. A steel sleeve on the base of the frame (where the bash plate screws in) and one on the upper left side. Any ideas how I might get them out (and back in!) Also, hoping to get some thoughts from anyone who has had it done. Firstly with regards to the headset tube. Does the thickness effect the stem race going back in? Any help would be greatly appreciated ?
  4. So I made huge rookie mistake yesterday. I'm rebuilding my xr400 after engine failure (blown piston). I got my top end all disassembled. I figured it was time to get the parts all cleaned up. Here's where I made the stupid mistake. I had some purple power laying around in the garage and figured it would be a good cleaner for my parts. I took a wash bucket and filled it with some purple power and diluted it with water. I took my top end parts and placed them in the bucket and let them sit overnight. I now know that was a huge mistake. I pulled the parts out and they actually didn't look half bad but when I pulled my cylinder head out the smooth aluminum surfaces all turned a matte black color. SOAB! The surface is now rough to the touch. I'm so upset and I just don't know what to do from here. So my questions is, is there anything I can do to combat this? I figured I can machine surface the bottom side, which I have to do anyways, but what about the top? Is there any way to clean/machine the cam journals and the valve spring seats? Or is this thing toasted? I don't know what to do, any help is appreciated, thanks.
  5. 2008 crf450r- Attached is a picture of deep grooves in my crank case from running too wide of an o ring chain. This is after 4-6 hours of total engine riding time. The groove is probably 2-3mm deep. I realize the mistake I made and I have switched to a Narrow DID x ring chain. My question is. How can I repair this to prevent further damage? I was thinking job weld and a piece of thin aluminum or steel sheet metal. Maybe a washer in welded to the case? How thick is the case in this area and should I be worried about it cracking in the future?
  6. I am currently restoring a 1975 Honda XR75, and I have gotten to the point where I need to look at redoing the cases, and cylinder aesthetically. The original XR75 had a painted engine judging from the pictures. I've researched it, and It was painted using a color called cloud silver. However, in almost every forum I have looked at, they say to under no circumstances, paint an engine (cases, cylinder, head, etc). Is painting possible? I am shooting for the original 1975 look, but if painting is not an option, what about polishing to chrome? I am familiar with polishing and have done it many times before, but on the XR the air cooled engine has lots of fins. How would one polish in between the fins to get a nice looking chrome cylinder? I have already sand blasted the outside of the cylinder, along with the head and crank cases. I have also attached a file of the original XR75 engine, which is the look I'm going for.
  7. Hey guys. Been looking around like crazy for an answer to my question before starting a new topic but have had no luck. I bought an 05 rmz250 in pieces and after seeing how crappy everything is ive decided to build the engine and use as many parts of the bike as possible to build an 06-08 style kx250f out of it. Used to have 2 07 kx250fs and I LOVED them and the aluminum frames are cheap on eBay. My question is what are the fork tube diameters for the 06-08 and what is the distance between the triple clamps top to bottom? Just trying to figure out if my kyb's will fit in the triple clamps for the showas on the 2nd gens. Appreciate any info. Thanks!
