I've heard the Beta side, now I'd like to hear the Honda side. My dealer sells both and I was really impressed with the new Honda. Fit and finish are excellent and there isn't a better looking bike out there in my opinion. Does anyone out there have a buddy on a Beta so they could compare? The only drawback I could see on the Honda is a 5 speed transmission and a cable clutch.

Yo wondering how 430 feels comparing to 390 in feeling etc. Is it much heavier/harder to control? I know they weigh the same etc just wondering how the handling on the 430 feels. Havn't find much answers on that question / salute

Had my first real ride this weekend on my '18 250X. I switched to this bike from the '16 Beta 430RR. I wasn't terribly unhappy with the Beta overall, but the biggest component I couldn't live with was the suspension. This YZ is night and day better for MY riding. With the low snow totals we've seen in Colorado, we were actually able to ride at 8500-9000' with ZERO snow. It was a great 46 mile trail/two track day with traction challenges and hill climbs, mixed with whooped out high speed straights and tons of corners. Overall, NO REGRETS with my decision. The 250X handled everything I threw at it with ease and never responded unpredictably. The suspension is AMAZING, as expected. The luggability is great, and with some clutch work it's darn near 4 stroke like. I think a 13T front or maybe just a FWW for the more technical single track may make things simpler. I hit reserve at 39 miles on the GPS which was about 2.7 hours on the hour meter. Rode to the truck without issue for a total of 46 miles. I was nursing the throttle for the last 15 miles, and figured I would try to do a clean out run after refueling at the truck. Well, after changing clothes and then starting the bike, I fouled a plug after hitting 4th gear. I'm happy with that, though, as I wanted to be a bit rich for the first 5 hours or so anyway. I'll drop the main and see how it goes. She runs clean and crisp on the bottom, and I ran it at 1/3 or less throttle most of the ride. Anyone on the fence about these bikes, just do it. You won't be sorry. Super light, awesome handling, predictable manners, incredible suspension, and I think it took 20 years off my age. LOL! Love this 2 stroke!!!

This finish very important to Beta for a few reasons: * It is the USA and therefore more "accepted" as a legit result due to the level of competition. * It is perhaps the best result of a Beta 4 stroke. * Jordan has "overachieved" for his racing resume. * The bikes in this series are factory or factory support at the highest level, these are the same bikes winning in SX/MX competition at the highest levels. While this series doesn't carry the recognition of the GNCC's, the format has moved to the forefront of Enduro and is quite similar to what is run in EnduroGP. There are "Cross" sections (which Jordan was the fastest at last weekend) and there are "Trails" also, although not as tight as true enduro. Jordan was battling for the championship lead for the last several races/months and I have to wonder if he backed it down in the GNCC's knowing he had much to risk and was best to save himself for the Sprints? Either way, fantastic job by Jordan, and well done Beta (he stayed on the '17) proving that the bikes don't need to apologize for anything. While Beta may have no interest in "track" racing, they happen to make a bike that would be able to compete if they chose to. Sponsoring a race team for a manufacturer is about proving that your machine can compete. Beta just did that. So I’m on the fence, I have read lots of great things about the beta 430 but I am wondering if it’s really what I’m looking for I’m coming off of a KTM 2019 xc 250 (two stroke) for those who don’t know. It is an amazing bike in the trails and has very good power. I’m 5’11 230 lbs and I want to do some road riding as well just short rides around town nothing extreme am I going to wish I bought a 480/500 or is the 480 going to be a handful in the tighter trails? I have seen the hp number on the 430 and they seem low but I also know hp isn’t everything does it have good get up and go? thanks!
