  1. I have a ktm 300. Before my last ride i bled my rear brake line (Successfully) but after one ride it needs it again. After each ride it looks as if there has been fluid leaking from the top of the reservoir. I make sure that the reservoir had fluid almost to the top of the sight glass before my last ride. I don't think it is due to overheating but I could be wrong. It has always had a very small leak out of the bottom of the piston which i replaced to try and fix this issue (but didn't) and im not sure if this might be contributing to my problems. I know many people have problems with these brakes, has anyone had experienced something similar to this? Please help
  2. Does anyone know how to remove the rear brake “piston/plunger” that drives the movement of fluid in the master cylinder? Trying to replace mine as the seals are bad but for the life of me I cannot get it out. It is not threaded, there is no c-clip, it won’t fall out the bottom no matter how much I tap the sides, and I’ve even tried blowing compressed air down into the small hole at the bottom of the cylinder to see if it would blow out and it still wouldn’t budge. It will slide up just like it’s supposed to but will not come out the bottom for removal. Anyone have any tips on how I can remove this? Bike is a 2014 KTM 350 XC-F Thanks in advance!!! Photo is of the bottom of the master cylinder.
  3. Hi All. I'm am trying to track down a new rubber diaphragm for the Brembo clutch master cylinder reservoir on my KTM 450 exc 2015 model. I can't seem to find this item sold separately. The current one is distorted and not sealing with the cover seal. I can only find complete master cylinders. Can anyone help or send me a link to replace this diaphragm.
  4. Hello, I feel like I have read all the tips and tricks on the spongey/springy KTM front brake. I've got an 05 250 EXC and last summer I lost my rear brake during a ride, so I decided to do some maintenance this winter on both front and rear. Rear brake went smooth, new pads, rebuild kit on mc and caliper, fresh fluid, new lever bearings. Rear brakes now work great, but the front brakes are spongey/springy. I've tried just about everything from zip-tie to tapping on the caliper when bleeding, back bleeding with a syringe and traditional bleeding. What I am noticing now is, my lever gradually gets firm as it is pulled in but can still pull to the bar and never gets solid (the adjustment is all the way in so there is no free play), what I am seeing and hearing is the caliper kind of creak and flex. Note that this is just in the shop, not during movement. I've never had issues with bleeding brakes and I am 90% sure there is no air in the system. I'm about to the point of getting on ebay and getting a Nissin MC. Any suggestions on what to try before I try a Nissin? I'm not sure how I still have hair! Thanks!
  5. Hello all, I’ve been looking all over forums and can’t seem to find an answer. my clutch lever felt soft on my 2016 250xcw, so I went to bleed the system. First, I tried to gravity bleed (which usually works fine) the fluid would not flow once I cracked the bleeder valve on the slave and pumped the lever. So instead, I tried to reverse bleed with a syringe. After strapping zip ties to the hose, I could not pump fluid into the system. There is no blockage on the bleed nipple, I removed fluid from reservoir and checked for blockage from up top. Oh, the last step I tried was hooking up a vacuum pump to the bleed nipple. That did not work either with vacuum pump set at 10 psi and not losing pressure. anyways, my next step is to rebuild master cylinder. Does anyone have any input before I go ahead and do so? I also removed my after market clutch lever, tried with OEM Incase it wasn’t pushing the push rod hard enough. That wasn’t the issue..
  6. I have a 2017 KTM 300 XC-W with a little more than 5 hours on it. Since day one I've noticed that the clutch drags a bit. When on the stand with the clutch pulled all the way in, the wheel will spin pretty fast, I also notice it when pulling in the clutch when going down hill. I'm wondering if I should back bleed the master cylinder, I'm also wondering if using the Zeta folding levers which were installed by the dealership is causing increased travel... maybe I should throw on the factory levers.
  7. Alright boy and girls Been doing some research on front and rear brake upgrades for my 2018 DRZ400SM. I currently have the Rear brakes set to instill here soon. (COREMoto Steel Braided Lines, 2012 Yamaha FZR6 Rear Master Cylinder / Yamaha OEM Brembo Part, EBC Carbon X pads) And I'll have an install right up on that soon. I'm needing some insight into a custom Brembo Radial setup for the front. My plan is to run the Brembo 4 piston caliper with the QTM Mount. Having trouble finding a 320mm rotor that will work with the Brembo Caliper. Trying to spend as little as possible, have the caliper and the bracket now, looking for a 320mm rotor option as well as a radial master cylinder for the front. I've seen some guys use the Katana Front master, KTM oem Brembo master and the R1/R6 master. I've found a Yamaha OEM Brembo Semi-Radial master cylinder for a 2006-2016 R6. Comes with the brake switch connectors as well. Wanted to see if anyone has used this set up or had any luck with another direction.
  8. Does the 2013 Husqvarna TXC310 come with Brembo brakes stock?
  9. I need to get a brake pad retaining spring for this caliper. I dont know what bike it came off and google seems to not have any answers. Please help!
  10. Hello, wise users of ThumperTalk. I own a used 2015 ktm exc 250 six days bike. Recently I've decided to change rear break pads along with the rotor. My problem is that one pad is somehow angled, it looks wrong to me - this space on the bottom begs for some kind of metal pin to balance the pad properly. Could the caliper be damaged and bent? I might've ordered wrong pads, though I searched them carefully according to bike's specs. Could you please provide any suggestions on what I should check? Thanks in advance 🙂 P.S. Looking at former pads I think the problem was there beforehand.
  11. I would like to ask you for advice on rebuilding a Brembo clutch slave cylinder. I know that Maguras used to have a circlip and I was wondering how do you get the piston out from this one? Anything to watch out for? Thanks!
