  1. Hey guys, I just sold my yz80, for $1100. Im down to two choices for a new dirt bike to buy, a 2003 cr125r, or a 2007 rm85 big wheel. I sold my 80 because i outgrew it, and im ready for a faster bike. Im only 5'3, so I know i wont be able to touch both feet on the 125, its got a freestyle seat, so it sits a little lower. Then, the rm85 is a big wheel, but i already outgrew my 80, and i dont know if the rm85 will be much faster. I rode my 80 amazing, i ride enduro/trail and I go to mx tracks to practice often. Let me know on what bike you guys think i should get. (By the way, my brother has a cr125 as well, and ive rode it and control the power well.)
  2. I'm looking at picking up a used DR650/KLR/690 Enduro for the lady friend and there happens to be a cheap DR650 in my area for sale right now. The potential problem? It's a model year 2000 with less than 4500 miles on it. I have a 2013 DRZ-S that has about 6000 miles on it and I feel like that's borderline neglect so a 2000 with even less has me concerned. What should I look for or be concerned about that I can check in someones driveway. Would it be worth it to trailer it somewhere and have it checked out professionally? I'm new to the area and therefore don't have a "trusted mechanic" and the nearest Suzuki dealer is ~2.25 hour drive away. Edit: I should add that I've got probably 30 hours seat time on a 2007 DR650 so I know roughly how they should feel.
  3. Hey all, so, I have klx250s 2018. Issue is, it struggles to keep 65 70mph with an upgraded 14T sprocket. I passed by the dealer, and they have a used DRZ400....issue is, I am not even sure if its the E or S. Seems it does not have a speedometer, just a trip counter. Not really a big deal to me. To me, when I ride my KLX250 its pretty comfortable for me at 65 70 mph but I am hitting full throttle and it takes about 15 seconds to reach 60mph lol and even way longer to reach 70 mph. Ive heard, and from youtube videos, drz400 can hit 0 - 60 in about 5 - 7 seconds, which is perfect for me. I am also looking for a bike that can hold 70 75 mph. My klx250 can do it, but only going down hill and it takes over a minute if I am going straight ha ha. Again, buzzing and wind does not bother me...just need a stronger engine. Would the DRZ400 do it? my other issue, I cant tell if its a dedicated dirt bike turned street legal, or if its the actual dual sport. is there a power difference going 65 - 70 mph? or am I better off with the DR650? but I even head the drz400 has better power going to 60 - 70 mph
  4. Location: Spain - Although I travel to the US often. Dirtbike prices aren't that much different. Weight: 210 pounds/95kg - Have lost 110 pounds/50kg (Random but I feel happy about it since I weighed over 320 pounds) Height: 6 feet 4/2 meters Riding experience: I'm 18 now but used to ride at 10 with a mini Dirt bike. Haven't got a lot of experience and kind of forgot the clutch system but I'm sure I'll pick it up straight away. Was so fun. Riding Area: Mainly around Mud/Mud jumps and Forests. Budget: Would like to spend less than 2k$

Yes, I am asking what to buy, I’m sure there are a million other threads with a very similar question, but before bashing me for posting, please understand that although I am talking about the whole topic, I want to focus a large portion of this post on the expense of the two bikes, mostly the repair expense. Now that we’ve got that cleared up, I’m an intermediate rider, bought a brand new 2018 250XC last year and love the bike. I race hare scrambles, but lately I’ve been riding MX a lot and thinking about trying a new 4 stroke and getting something that will handle the track a bit better (suspension-wise). I’ve been told the 350’s are about as expensive as they get to repair when it comes to the engine, but I don’t truly know what the case is. Does anyone have some round-about numbers, any comparisons to the expense of the 450? Yes, I know the 450 costs a few hundred more up front, I don’t care about that, just looking at maintenance. Also, I’m worried that being used to the 250 2 stroke (and I ride with the red spring in, I like an aggressive feel) I will have a hard time getting used to a 350F, kind of like getting on a 250F where I feel like I’m pounding on the throttle to keep it moving. Is this anything to be worried about? In every other way I lean towards 350, being a 2 stroke guy, liking the lighter-weight, more nimble-feeling bikes.
  7. My buddy has a 2001 wr250f that bogs a little when you punch the throttle. Upon tearing down the carb we found that the AP nozzle was completely plugged off. Tried to clean it but to no avail, ended up using a little drill bit to clear it out. Long story short I need to buy a new AP nozzle but the part doesn’t seem to exist. doesn’t show up in any parts diagrams and can’t seem to find it anywhere. If someone could find one that would be great!
  8. Can someone please show me where I can buy front fork guards for my 07 crf 70? Please. The only ones close I have found are for an SSR. It says they will fit crf70, but tells you to make sure before ordering. And from the pictures they show, the bolting patterns look different???
  9. Hey, I am looking for a new dirt bike in the $2000 range and I happened to come across a Cr250r it's a 2000 and looks good just wondering if it would be a smart investment. Is there a lot of maintenance that apply to 2-stokes plus it's a 2000? There is also a YZ250F that is a 2004 4-stroke for $1800 I want opinions and facts!
  10. Hello, For this summer, I was looking for a project. As a desert/trial, and occasionally single track rider from Southern California, any time of the year works for a build like this. I grew up riding two-stroke and after a couple years on four strokes, I want to return to the enduro king. However, KTM and Husky sell their bikes for quite a high price tag. So, I have decided I want to take an older two stroke motocross bike i.e. cr250, yz250, etc., and make it the ultimate desert bike for significantly less than a new KTM. I am not loyal to one brand, but I have always loved Honda and spent a grand a month ago on all new gear with Honda's name plastered all over it. I know all the mods I want to do the bikes to make them enduro/desert ready: heavy flywheel, 18 inch rear wheel, new exhaust, steering stabilizer, etc. What I need help in is I don't know what bikes I can install a wide ratio transmission in. I know yz250 can take a 400 or 426 transmission, but can any other brand? I would like to see a cr250 with the gears of a 450x rippin through the desert. I like the steel frame for off road use, and I just need some advice on the best bike for this conversion. Thanks

Hi guys I just found upon a yz85 in my area for a steal of a price and I am looking at purchasing it however the issue is my parents won't let me buy it now as we just moved here and we don't have a place to store it just yet except hopefully we get a storage locker soon. I need ideas to try and persuade them to let me buy it asap. I have already came up with the fact it needs work so it will keep me occupied with things other than school and it teaches more mechanical knowledge. I am open to all storage ideas as well.
  12. Hey guys! Thinking about getting a husky TE 250 to start. Finally found a good offer for a 2010 TC husky turned to TE (was cross, now is road-legal). This guy wants 2000 dollars. No e-start. My question is: is the TC a good bike for enduro? Is it good in the woods/trails? What about in General, is it a good bike? Would you buy it? Thanks!

  15. 1. What is your skill Level (be honest)? Novice/Intermediate 2. What's your height & weight? 5 foot 7, 120 lbs and growing rapidly 3. What year, make, & model of motorcycle are you coming from? And, what do you want the new bike to do better? 2000 Honda xr100. Bought about a month ago as my first bike and am already bored. it has a really low seat height and it is totally gutless. I want more power and a taller seat height. No 4 stroke because i hate adjusting valves. was thinking of an 85 2t but i would grow out of it super quick 4. What's your ballpark budget? $1200 including money from selling old bike 5. What types of terrain will you be riding? not much single track but mostly trails and track 6. Will you be racing or just play riding? Will not be racing for a while Thanks for your answers!
  16. Hello everyone, I know that there are several other posts asking if certain bikes are not right for people but i couldn't find one for this. If there is one, a link would be appreciated. I have a 2014 yz125 that i race woods with, I've been racing the past several years on it but I believe its time for an upgrade. This year I'm moving up to B class so I was looking at a 250, sepcifically a yz250x. The only thing is that I weigh 155lbs w/o gear so i was wondering if anyone has any input on a similar bike, if it was too much power, too heavy for woods, etc. Thanks!
