  1. so i can trade my 04 yz250f for a 2002 rm125 i ride mostly all trails. i am tired of my 4 stroke because it's nickle and diming me. i have a few questions about the RM. How is the reliability on 02 rm125/ Your opinions of bike Will the rm125 be easier to maintain than my yz250f? What problems will pop up on this bike or common problems, what should i ask the seller about the bike?
  2. I'm looking at picking up a used DR650/KLR/690 Enduro for the lady friend and there happens to be a cheap DR650 in my area for sale right now. The potential problem? It's a model year 2000 with less than 4500 miles on it. I have a 2013 DRZ-S that has about 6000 miles on it and I feel like that's borderline neglect so a 2000 with even less has me concerned. What should I look for or be concerned about that I can check in someones driveway. Would it be worth it to trailer it somewhere and have it checked out professionally? I'm new to the area and therefore don't have a "trusted mechanic" and the nearest Suzuki dealer is ~2.25 hour drive away. Edit: I should add that I've got probably 30 hours seat time on a 2007 DR650 so I know roughly how they should feel.
  3. I am thinking of buying a dual sport for commutes/trail riding and I have 2 models in mind but not sure which one would be better. Either a 2009 Yamaha WR 125R with 49,000km or 1990 Yamaha DT 125R with 63,000km (although engine rebuild last year). I can't decide if I want 4 stroke or 2 stroke. I'm aware that 2 stroke are much cheaper and simpler to rebuild, but the reliability of the wr 4 stroke engine seems very good. It also has EFI vs a carburator on the DT. I'm quite worried about engine seizing on the 2 stroke. Which one should I get?
  4. Hi all, for the past year I have played with the idea of getting a 250 for honing MX. Though I’m not pursuing Loretta's, I would use this bike for getting into track work and weekend MX. I have about 3 grand set aside for the new (to me) bike. For reference, I grew up riding and wrenching my own bikes in my fathers footsteps. I have 14 years of riding experience, starting with fire roads as a kid and moved on to single track and tight trails as an adult. I am 5’ 7 inches and 155 lbs fully suited. I have some track experience, but I hesitate to call it “experience” as it is mainly tagging along with friends who ride MX. I’m an average rider but in no means an average MXer. I have a lot to learn in that department. Hopefully I can find the right tool for the job! What bikes, and years of production, would you recommend? Locally, I have a Honda/Suzuki dealer I’ve grown up with so I’ve always been a little partial to red and yellow. I’ve seen a handful of 2012-2014 RMZ 250s with low hours. The Honda’s I see are between 2010-2014 and seem a bit more expensive then the Suzuki’s, but still not unreasonable. Thanks

  6. The pandemic has seemed to make prices sky rocket. Im looking to get a drz400 but they are so very differently priced anymore. I guess im wondering is a 2003 bike with 4,000 miles actually worth something like 4,000 to 4,500 usd or is that overpriced?
  7. Like the title says, I have 1000 usd give or take a little to put into mods for a stock dr 650. definitely want a bash plate but what else should I get? plan to do something like 60-70% off road but no insane trails. also what to do moto camping at some point.

  9. Right, so my 2005 Suzuki LTZ 400 needs a new rear brake caliper since a bolt snapped of inside it. When looking at what they cost at Partzilla it's around $213 excluding shipping. So i have also looked at buying one from ebay or amazon. However im not sure if thats a good idea. My question is, should i buy the one from Partzilla costing around $200 or one from Amazon/Ebay costing $20-$40. If anyone has any experience in buying rear brake calipers from Amazon or Ebay how well did they last?

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 01 DRZ400s that is for sale near me, it has a full Yosh exhaust header, K&N air filter, and suposedly has been Jetted, it idles without popping but choke on makes it pop like crazy while warming up. I took it for a test ride and nothing really felt too out of the ordinary except the front brakes were squishy as all hell but I hear that can be rather normal on these types of bikes. I used to race motorcross back in the day and I'm looking for a half decent bike I can modify and make a fun trail and jump bike (not like 20 feet in the air jumps but some decent height like maybe 8 feet at most.) I'm alittle worried because the guy is alittle flakey and wont send me a picture of the title so I can verify the vin is not stolen (I forgot to while I was there and he is an hour away). There was also oil on the bottom of the engine case and on the skid plate, he said that the bike has been sitting for the past 2ish years and he only used ethanol free gasoline but I don't know if I believe that kinda shit from not only him, but anyone I am buying a bike from. The gas tank was clean (no rust), the suspension was SUPER SOFT, like hitting a bump felt like I was on a boat, and it has no mirrors on it. Pretty much I'm just asking do you guys think this is a good purchase for 2500? I see the KBB for my area is around 2870, so with the mods I'm thinking its a decent purchase if there is nothing sketchy about the bike vin wise. Anything I should look specifically at when I go back to check it out with cash, any words of wisdom as to what I may be getting myself into? I am mechanically inclined so I'm not afraid to work on the bike, I already own 3 other motorcycles..

Needle clip 3rd position. -hyde racing HDPE skid plate.-case savers R/L.-brand new chain.-BRP HDPE chain guide.-unabiker radiator guards -KB5 rebuilt and revalved rear shock now can someone tell me if this is a good deal or not? tbh im not even sure what I am reading.
  12. Mods if possible don't pull this, I'm just posting here as well as classifieds because it seems classifieds don't get much traction now days. I'm looking to buy a spare wheelset for my 250X. Getting into racing and training more and trying to cover my bases. They don't have to be pretty , just looking for something straight, true, and 18" rear of course. Maybe you have oem take-offs after getting some shiny new excels? Let me know, thanks!

Hello i am selling my 04 yz250f because all i do is ride trails, hit hill climbs maybe sometimes single track. the bike is nickle and diming me because of it's age and plus i am 5'7 140 and can't ride it hard enough because i'm kinda small for bike. i don't know a bike to buy after i sell it. i need something with great reliability, and somewhat easy maintenance btw i can't deal with another valve issue!! ? i want something that is a good trail bike but has good torque and power. i'm not looking for the 250 power. i was considering the crf230f but is it to small for me? And how are the reliability on 125 2 strokes? i'm 5'7 140. Suggestions welcome please!! forgot to mention i have good experience on dirt bikes i have been riding for about 3 years from a ssr 125 to a cr80r now to a 250.
  14. What is the difference beyond the tires? I have been looking for a drz 400 s in my area for almost a month now with nothing to show. there just simply aren't many around but there are tons of drz 400 sm. If there are a lot of differences would it be possible to convert?

  16. _first time buying new_ this question more in line with how to deal with a dealership then more so which year to go for. My local dealer(Texas) is offering the 2020 for $9,699 and the 2021 for $9,799 1) what OTD price should I be aiming for with both models? 2) how much of a better deal could I possibly get going with the 2020 model? 3) would $10,500 OTD be a reasonable price, or could I get it for lower?
