  1. Hello I am looking for a set of cases for a 05 KX250 2 stroke. Part # is 14001-0021. From what I can tell cross referencing parts, 06-07 are practically identical to 05 and have all the same internals. the part # for 06-07 is 14001-0065. Anybody out there who might have some lying around collecting dust? Kawasaki discontinued manufacturing these apparently
  2. Bought new in 1997, my Suzuki DR650 motorcycle in 2014, with 20500 Km on the clock experienced unpredictable catastrophic 3 rd gear disintegration. Eventually in December 2016 the Small Claims Court of South Africa, with Suzuki Auto South Africa defending,the court awarded me my damages claim for the repair of my Suzuki motorcycle.   3. Alright good news. Had saved up a bunch of money expecting to owe a significant amount for taxes.. Turns out I don't owe nearly as much!! Time to put the money to good use and build a nice performance motor for my drz. I am planning on doing a full 470 kit from ebay (Stage 2 cams, +4mm Crank, 94mm Piston/Jug) Has anybody else done this big of a displacement change? If so how bad will this hurt my reliability? I know it wont be nearly as reliable as stock, obviously.. just wanted to get a few opinions before I jump into ordering everything. Also, if I follow through with it I would be doing the MX39 carb swap. I am running a new Yoshi RS-2 full system, but will swap to MRD if it will make a significant difference. Thank you guys, Brad
  4. Chain fell off 3rd gear WFO on my 2003 YZ250. Around 100 hours. Also took out top chain guard bolt along with the lower chain roller. What are your thoughts on fixing or replacing the case?
  5. So i recently bought a 2010 CRF450x and when i was buying it i noticed a small leak. For the couple days ive owned it i discovered that on the other side of where the kickstart shaft runs through the case is broken. I have the idea to get a nickel and some jb weld to seal it up.. but im pretty bummed. Any tips or help? Upclose picture is my bike, other pic is reference
  6. Good day. I've come across this image of a Honda CRF450 Rally engine. What draws my attention is the piece of equipment next to the crank case guard. What is it exactly? Is it used like a chain lubing system? Why would it need to be planted in the direct vicinity of the front sprocket otherwise?
  7. 2008 crf250r, I removed the 7 bolts around left case/cover and the oild filter because Im trying to put the timing chain back on. It fell off the sprocket when I dropped in down in the engine. After removing those bolts, I cant get the thing to come off and I have tried tapping around the perimeter with a hammer. Is there something else to remove so it will come off?
  8. Tldr: look at the bottom, told the whole story of my crash in the first few paragraphs Hey all. I Was riding my 2011 Yamaha wr450f on the road earlier to get to some trails, 10 minute ride on some back roads from the 8-9 acres of private land I offload my bike at and start my day of riding I was riding to my trails and decided to hammer on the gas through a sharp left turn, which I've taken going 50-60mph through a bunch of times. Stupid I'm sure for the curve of the turn and with the speed limit 25 through it, but It's a backroad, not many people go on it whatever. Anyways, to the crash. I take the turn going 50 mph, then speed up to 60mph going through it. I Leaned in to the turn too much, don't have great tires for the road on my street legal wr450f, and was going way too fast so I slid on the left side of my bike on the pavement. I slid like right alongside the bike probably 20 feet. Got some road rash, torn up a bit, most of my body got small things on road rash tbh, mostly my left side. Anyways tldr my long story, crashed my wr450f at 60mph on the pavement, only messed up my clutch lever slightly and got a decent sized hole in the crank case. I rode it home with the hole in the case probably less than a mile as soon as I got up from the crash. I was just wondering, based off the pics I'm posting if I can JB weld it together for a hare scramble I have august 20th, or if I should just get a new aftermarket or OEM one? Any opionions would be great. Pic of the crack in the case isn't great, crappy lighting, but it's maybe an inch, half inch long, the biggest part of the crack to the top of it, right near the shifting pedal, whatever it's called. It bent in and poked a hole in the case. First pic is one of the oil that's leaked on my garage floor since I've had it sitting there for 12 hours, then the other 2 are of the crack in the case, not the best quality like I said
  9. I bought this bike and the previous owner left the pet cock on after test ride. I notice there was oil in my truck bed. I unloaded the bike rode it half a mile and noticed the bike was leaking oil. I took a picture and searched for related topics. Yesterday I drained the transmission oil and it was very dark and I put in Honda 10W40. I then power washed the bike to see exactly where oil is coming from. I rode the bike another half mile and the bike was still leaking this very dark almost black oil. The bike has had a new bottom and top end rebuild with a wisco piston and hot rod crank but that's all I know. I messaged the previous owner and he said it could be the crank case gasket has a leak. I would prefer not to have to split the whole crank case just to reseal the case at the split. I find it strange that the bike leaks more when the gas pet cock is left on because when I let the bike sit overnight it did not leak but maybe one or two drops. The bike starts and runs fantastic it just has this leak issue. All input is welcomed thanks
  10. Hey guys! Quick question on my left side crank case (stator side). After my rides if you pull the cover off I am finding gear oil. Which shouldn’t be there. I am not sure if it is coming from or could come from the clutch arm or what seems to be a wheep hole? See pictures and let me know if any of you have ran into the same problem, and how you fixed it. All info would be greatly appreciated. - Jarod
  11. Is this normal for the wiring enetering the case? A lot of wire is exposed without the black hose covering them? This is a brand new 2018 300xc
  12. Hey guys almost done getting this bike back on the road just need to fabricate or buy a chainguard and sprocket case. I am in Australia so ordering one is a bit tough so was going to try make one with the limited tools I have any ideas or other model chain guards I could mod to fit would be great doesn't have to be pretty just has to work also any pillion footpeg ideas would be cool thanks
  13. Putting back together a 2000 kx250 project bike I picked up a while ago after replacing the crank, bearings, and seals, etc. and have a question about the shift drum assembly and positioning. Must it be in a specific gear or neutral when putting the cases back together??? I removed everything from the case halves and want to insure that I put it back together right but can not find anything in the service manual that relates to this area and timing. PLEASE HELP!
  14. Was in the process of reassembling my 2004 rmz 250, while mating the cases back together everything seemed to line up good, cases were near flush with each other. Began to tighten down the crankcase bolts and on the very last bolt my left side case cracked..... the shift drum was pushing up against the case???? What could have caused this? Unfortunately now I have yet another new set of cases in the mail as fixing the cracked case was the goal in the first place. Now I have 2 sets of ruined cases, go me.
  15. How is the bushing pictured below supposed to fit in relation to the case surface? It almost looks like it's not pressed far enough in (sits about .5mm to the left of the case surface). Or, will it slide where it needs to be when I pull the case halves together? This is in a 2007 KX250 two stroke, got new case set from Kawasaki, old cases were cracked.
  16. Help! I had to remove the left side transmission case cover to retrieve a valve shim that had fallen down the side of the engine. When I was putting it back on I noticed two of the bolts wouldn' tighten all the way down. One was the short bolt that connect the oil filter cap to the case/cover and the other was a longer bolt that connects the cover to the transmission. Is there any alternate besides refilling a hole? Is this something I can use loctite on?

  18. Hey all! Recently picked up a clean 1984 Xr250r for 200$ with a blown bottom end. Previous owner was riding when it locked up and wasn’t sure what happened. Tore it all apart today and holy Sh*t. The case is cracked all around the crank and parts of a chewed up copper washer were sitting in the transmission housing? Connecting rod is also seized. Not sure where this washer is supposed to go if it was even supposed to be in there in the first place. Any insight to what y’all think went wrong would be great! Thanks
