  1. Has anyone here installed a Clake 2 on a Yamaha? This is the version that has two levers for an easy pull clutch and right hand rear brake (LHRB) on the left side of the handlebar. The clutch system is hydraulic and requires a Magura cable to hydraulic conversion kit for bikes such as YZFs and WRs. I service the brakes on my bikes and the hydraulic clutch on my daughter's KTM and even rebuilt the slave unit on the KTM once so I'm used to working with hydraulic systems on dirt bikes. I can't however seem to get the Clake system to work even after several attempts. I contacted Clake but while the owner seems quite nice, it's basically a one- or two-man operation so between production and new product development, there isn't much time for product support. I've watched the Clake installation and Magura HYMEC videos several times and I think that, for at least the last time, I followed the steps exactly for preparing the Clake and filling/bleeding the system. On my first attempt, I tried to fill the system by reverse flushing it because that is what I usually do and because that is how it is done in the Magura videos. In hindsight, I should have stuck just to the Clake videos. (Unfortunately, there is no printed documentation.) I think that the Magura slave was in an extended position but I'm not completely sure that it was in the fully extended position. The hand lever could move the slave a bit after that but the hand lever would not return on its own to the resting position. On my latest attempt, i removed the slave unit and thoroughly cleaned and dried it before reassembling it. I then elevated the hose above the master cylinder and attempted a forward bleed of the system to ensure that it was completely full of fluid and no air. BTW, it seemed much more difficult than expected to get the fluid all the way to the far end of the raised hose using the lever as shown in the Clake video. I had also checked all hose and banjo bolt fittings to make sure there were no air/fluid leaks. I made sure the rod was completely extended from the slave, refilled it with fluid, and reattached the hose. I then bled air from the slave end and then the maser end as shown in the video. Currently, the clutch lever will move in and out but it doesn't move the slave rod at all. I checked and the rod is still in the extended position and the slave end cap is not sealed against air movement. The clutch lever snaps toward the bar very easily and stays there. When pulled back, it snaps further out than the normal resting position and stays there. I'm not sure if I somehow damaged the master cylinder (or if it arrived damaged) or if there's something temporary that's stopping the master from forcing fluid to the slave or if there's some other completely different problem. I'm at my wits end about how to get this working. Does anyone here have any experience with a Clake installation or any suggestions?

  3. Hi all, Looking at a couple of LHRB options. Has anyone compared the Clake SLR (or any Clake?) to an OX brake? Looking at turning my bike into more of a mountain goat and I think one of these setups would be the icing on the cake for a few uses. (wheelies, hill stops/starts, bulldogging) Obviously the Clake looks like the premium product, and more ergonomic, but I am liking the simplicity of the OX setup, the clake also looks very bulky and I am betting I will have trouble fitting it on my bars. These will be used with my stock magura hydraulic manual clutch. A rekluse is not on the cards. I also will be retaining the foot brake. Clake: OX: So simple.
  4. I've been thinking about possibly getting a Clake One Light Clutch system or possibly a Clake Two. On the purchase page of the Clake website there is a field for a coupon code but I haven't been able to find one via a Google search. Does anyone here know of a coupon code that will work? Thanks.
  5. First and foremost, congrats to all the podium finishes for 2016/2017 and enjoy the awards banquet in a few weeks, you all earned it. [emoji106] Just as the title says... what 'cha doing to prep for the upcoming season? More exercise? Diet? New Bike? Mod's? I'll start it off.... against my better judgment, and seeing I DNF'd the race in Globe and STILL haven't been able to ride from injury, and I didn't win any of the three 50+ C Class races I entered... I'm making the move to B 50+. This shoud be a riot! I'm gonna get my butt handed to me! Hahahahaha. At my age just finishing the race is a win and that's my goal. I bought a toy hauler and will try to make each round (work providing). Going to put my Scott's damper on my 500 as well. Figure it will work better on the bike than it does in my toolbox. Hahahahaha Outside of that, going to try and get some early morning rides starting in a few weeks and practicing when I can locally around my house and be off the bike by late morning (heat). Gotta order up some yellow decals. What say you fellow racers? Lets hear what 'cha doing to get ready! ~fuddy
  6. Just got my new toy in the mail, took about 7 weeks to arrive from down under. This is the mod I am most excited about. Although the L is a big heavy DS I have been riding it more and more in tighter and increasingly harder to ride terrain. I love the idea of being able to have three fingers wrapped around the grip and just the index on the clutch. The other issue for me is that after upgrading the clutch and putting the Barnett HD springs in it's a good bit harder to pull. Not a big deal on a short ride but after even a couple hours in the woods my left hand is about done. The is supposed to make it 75% easier to pull and only with one finger. Just waiting for my new fatbars to arrive then I'll get it installed and give a quick review.
  7. Has anyone used one of these? I use the 3 finger technique to modulate my clutch. Which also means I don’t cover it, and I abuse the clutch like it’s a 125. Looking for something I can cover and one finger modulate.
