I recently ran into clutch problems on my 2006 yz85. The clutch would literally have no effect. So I took the cover off and realized the the inner and outer hub were in pretty bad shape. So I decided to order them. On top of that the plates were bad too, so I ordered a tusk plate kit. Everything came, I installed it and it still won’t properly engage. Even after putting oil in it and leaving it to warm up for 5-7 minutes. When I put it in gear there is still a slight resistance. I would say the clutch is engaging about 80-90 percent. All the new parts are oem except the plates. Could that be the problem? (I doubt it) I don’t really know what else to replace. The springs? Or pressure plate? Any help is appreciated.
I recently bought a yz85 and everything was working fine. Until one day the clutch stopped engaging. I would pull the clutch in, put it in gear, and then it would want to take off without me releasing the clutch. I opened the clutch cover and took out the plates and saw that they needed to be replaced. I replaced the plates and the problem is still occurring... fyi while testing it (without having the engine on) I didn’t have oil in the transmission but I did soak the plates over night before installation. When pulling in the clutch lever there is resistance and the pressure plate moves with the plates too, but it still won’t disengage the engine. Do I have to warm up the bike for the clutch to work properly? (It’s 20-30 degrees outside) I am also guessing this is a minor problem because the bike only has like 25-35 hours on it.
