Hi everyone and merry chrimbo to all. Ive pretty much finished my resto project and everything’s great apart from the dim lights. I bought the bike with the problem, and thought it would be an easy fix. Nothing seems to fix the fault. So far, I’ve replaced the whole wiring harness, the rear light and wires, brake light switch and wires, front light holder and wires, speedo cable and wires. All 6v bulbs and I even had the light coils checked and replaced. So everything has been done apart from the handlebar switchgear. I had the frame powdercoated, but sanded the main earth point for the harnsess, so it’s a good earth. Even, ground two points of the five engine mounting points away hoping that might help. All the electrics work like they should including the pass light, just dim lights. Has anyone had this problem? Does the engine need to be grounded at every point? I thought if the engine had one good ground that would be enough. Really at a loss with this, and if I can’t sort I have to admit defeat and had it over to an auto electrician ?

Hi All Trying to diagnose why my bike won't get regular spark. Reading forums I've come across people having issues with their pick-up & pulser coils. I did a resistance test on the wiring that I'm pretty sure is for these - but I'm very new to electrical stuff & it's confusing. The numbers I get don't match what I have in my manual (for DR350). Could anyone tell me if the numbers I'm getting suggest these coils are broken? Pick-up coil (Green & Blue wires) = 517ohm Power source coil (White & Brown wires) = 507ohm I also tested these 2 wires that are in the same connector as the pick-up coil (but aren't on the wiring diagram that I have) Yellow & grey = 522ohm It will make only one spark after plugging in the CDI - this is repeatable. I read on a forum that someone had a broken wire in their stator - took mine apart to check and no issues like that. Also read that the ignition coil needs to have bare metal where it bolts on for grounding and have sanded the paint back there. All the safety switches (sidestand/neutral/kill) are working properly. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
