  1. So recently I got a 2002 Xr100r off of a friend who recently crashed the bike and just scraped the plastics and cracked the front fender. I am looking to replace the plastics with a different color preferably black but I can not find anyone selling them for the year or even the Xr100r itself. Is there any aftermarket kit that would fit the bike? I would prefer either grey or black since I think they look nice on this kind of bike, but if I cannot find grey or black I will settle with OEM or something else if need be. Any help is appreciated and I hope I can make the bike look nice again.
  2. Hey Everyone! I went on a fun ride in the hills east of San Diego. It was super fun trails and the conditions were great but we almost ran into two different riders coming the opposite direction. Check it out!
  3. Hey everyone! I went out to the desert last weekend and decided to record it. We rode mostly tight sand washes. Check it out! PS Turn up the resolution and the cameras were faced too far down but I tried to make it work
  4. How can i fix this? Why is this happening when everything else if fine? Took it to a machine shop guy said 100 in labor to do sleeve and he said he didnt know if they made sleeves but they do. Im considering on buying a brandnew cylinder but lots of money didnt know if cylinder could be fixed or this will happen again. Heres the piston, then top of jug has chips taken out 30-50 thousandths
  5. I am looking at getting my first dirt bike, I have ridden quads and have always wanted to ride bikes. Before people start sharing there opinions about 2 stroke vs 4, this is what I'm looking to get out of the bike. Something that is fun and easy to learn on, Period. Don't worry about maintenance costs or the "thrill" of 2 strokes etc... I originally though 2 stroke but my buddy has a 2 stroke kx250 and i felt like i was out of control every time time i gave more then a touch of throttle. Is this because I'm new to riding dirt bikes or is this a 2 stroke thing. I want something that is easy to control and I like what people say about the smooth power bands on the 4 strokes. Cheers, Kyler
  6. This topic has likely been covered before but I figure my situation is a little different. Im 25 and weight 155lbs. Currently I've got about a years worth of consistent motocross experience under my belt on a 2008 CRF250r. In addition to that I have about 3+ years of street riding experience on various 450cc supermotos'. My question is, when would it be appropriate for me to bump from my 250cc up to a 450cc for motocross? Obviously a years worth of experience on a 250 means I haven't squeezed that bike of its full potential yet but recently I rode a friends yzf450 for a few laps at the mx track and was blown away how much more planted it felt compared to my 250. I'm guessing it was the increase of torque and possibly the small weight difference that made it feel that way. I felt very comfortable on the 450 but at the same time I was taking it easy and could also feel how much of a monster it really was on the mx track and would not be as forgiving as my 250. It may sound stupid but I almost felt safer being able to get over jumps not having to wind the bike out for all it had like some jumps on my 250. Right now im recovering from a broken foot after a pretty bad crash at the beginning of the month so it's going to be a while before I ride again anyways. The other reason I feel inclined to get a 450 is because in addition to riding mx, I would really like another supermoto. You just don't supermoto 250cc bikes its just not worth it. So at the end of the day, should the 450 on the mx track best be left to the much more experienced, or would a rider like me with a year under my belt get along well with a 450. I haven't ridden any of the newer models but I think there is a button to switch fuel maps to tame the bike down a bit. That would probably help the transition some. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
  7. Hello, i'm looking at getting a different dirt bike I had a 2004 crf150f for awhile and did not like it at all, the carb was slightly rich and everything was stalk except the bars and grips. and a few months back I got to ride, a 2002 yz85, and I had alot of fun. but i'm doing more woods and trail riding and, and my dad says I would like a upgraded crf150f... but that thing is so heavy and slow I have trouble believing that. so I guess the the question is. should I get a yz85, or cr85 and set them up for woods or would I like a modified crf150f or is there a bike i'm leaving out of the question? the only brands i'm interested in is Honda and yamaha. and i'm 13 years old and 5'1'' Thanks

    Won't Start

Hi All, I am trying to find ideas of why my 2010 CRF 250R will not start. When we first bought the bike we went for a ride and had no issues, we got home and washed it and it seemed to have gotten water somewhere on the electronics and did not start for a couple of days. We let it air out and sprayed with inox and it started fine. You can ride through water and it will not have any problems, but once it gets washed it will sometimes start but not every time. The bike has about 65 Hours on it, The last ride i had it stalled on me going up a hill and it would not idle anymore. We took it to the local motorcycle shop and got the valves shimmed and cleaned out the fuel tank, fuel filter and fuel pump got a new spark plug and it idled fine without any trouble. We have just rebuilt the water pump and put it all back together and once again the bike would not start. Pulled the spark plug out as we thought the bike may have fouled the brand new spark plug and replaced it with an older one and it started fine. Put the other plug we just took out of it back in and it started again, so we kept that plug in and now it will not start again. What could be occurring this to happen? We know it has spark and that it's not starving for fuel. Reminder: Valves just done, Cleaned fuel pump/Filter & New plug.
  9. So I've been riding a crf230f road legal conversion done, but I need something a little more powerful, and able to ride longer distances on asphalt to get to a trail. I want something light weight and reliable, but also road worthy and inexpensive. Narrowed down to: Suzuki Drz400 BMW G650X challenge Dr650 (although too heavy) Xr650l (heard it lacks bottom end) Ktm, Husqvarna, ccm, husaberg etc are out of bounds (due to price or maintenance issues.) Note: buying second hand
  10. Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to put a crf250x exhaust on a crf250r. The reason is I need a quite exhaust for riding on a small property. And Are their any other products that will do the same (something as quite as a crf100f stock exhaust). Thanks
  11. Should I buy a 2002 YZ426f OR a 2009 CRF250R? The YZ has alot of extras and looks to be in pretty good shape, the owner used it alot, but took care of it. The CRF is in EXCELLENT condition and looks great Both bikes are for sale at about $1500, but i should be able to talk it down a bit I'm having a difficult time deciding between the two, I'd be sacrificing power for age and vice versa, idk any insight would be helpful. Thanks
  12. Im thinking about getting another crf250r and wanted some opinions on what you guys think the best years are. I have an 2007 right now but want to know if its worth it to get something newer. The biggest things I would like to know are reliability, handling, and last power. thanks
  13. So I have had my 2005 Honda CRF 150F for around 4 years. It always gave me a hard time when it came to idling, but now the bike will just stall from idling for 3 min. I have to constantly rev the engine just a bit to keep the bike running. It runs great but when you come to a complete stop and put it in neutral, it dies. I preform regular maintenance on the bike but have not taken the whole bike apart myself. I was wondering if it would have something to do with the fuel/air mix screws.... i dont really know which one is which, i might have turned them too much(yes im a bit confused). I have attached a picture and if someone could tell me which one should be adjusted and how many turn out they should be. ( i have adjusted the bottom screw - near exhaust pipe and the middle screw..) Is there anything I could do to see if it will fix the problem before I would need to take it in to be serviced.
  14. Back story. Just finished complete rebuild new head, valves, crank, bearings seals, and muffler bearing. I've checked, double checked ,and checked again timing. Exhaust valves are .011 and the intake are. .007 (I know a frog hair loose). It will fire right up when towed and it will stay running. So I am assuming ( I know) the carb probably needs some help. Can you guys point me in the right direction as I am baffled by carburetor theory and function. By the way happy Mother's Day to any that are reading brad
  15. Any idea what bike I should get I want something fast I'm 5'8 125 pounds and 13 years old
  16. Today I figured I would learn how to clean my carburetor. Watched a few vids this week on how to, and felt prepared. As I began taking apart the carb, I had a video playing in case I was confused. Took apart, cleaned, assembled, and got my XR70's back together, no one to the CRF80. I took the carb apart, pretty clean still but I cleaned it anyway. I put it back together. I plugged the back up vent and the gas line into the wrong port (switched spots), but the bike still ran. Fgured out what I had done wrong, fixed the issue so now gas wasn't pouring out of the drainage tube. Then I noticed I was having more issues. The bike wouldn't start. I went back to the throttle line which enters the carb, and noticed there was a brass colored V clip in there, looked as it had no purpose but I left it. I then redid the carb, and the bike started, but the throttle was sticking. I went back, took out that brass V clip and it the throttle doesn't stick. Now to the current issue: When I get the bike started (will only start on and stay on if choked) the throttle pulls and reacts fine, but when I release it, it takes a second or two for the cable to actually release. I believe there is some correlation to the brown clip. PLEASE HELP, REALLY NEED THIS BIKE BACK RUNNING FOR OUR TRIP NEXT WEEKEND!

  19. Which helmet should I get, Bell moto 9 carbon flex or 6d atr-2?
  20. Hello friends, I'm proud of my little 8-year-old because he has become familiar enough with our 2007 Honda CRF50F to manage it himself, including starting, warming up, and putting it away when he's done. Here's a video I took of him yesterday.
  21. Hi guys i have some questions and would appreciate any help you guys may have. I have a 1998 yz 250 ive had for a few years thats been in the famliy for awile. I am doing a ground up redo on it this winter. Im geting a used frame because the one i have dosent have a title so i figured wile im at it ill get a 1998/1997 wr 250 frame so i can make it street legal. I know the 98 wr 250 wasent introduced in the us but the 97 was and the yz 250 is the same bike from 96 to 98. So my question is are the wr 250s the same ? Could i find a 97 wr250 frame and swap everything from my 98 yz 250 to it ? I wont realy ride it on the street much considering its not the best bike for commuting (by far) lol, but i figure if im geting another frame with a title miswell be able to throw my street tires on it and rip some twistes with it if i want to. Thanks for any help.
  22. Just wondering if anyone has done it? and if it is possible to do so
  23. Hey my buddy has a honda crf450r and started making noises recently, or a while ago, we thought nothing of it, thought maybe the chain or something, the bikes always coming up with problems, but they got louder, and so he stopped riding it and is gonna look into it. Does anyone have any ideas what it is? To be specific, it sounds like a clanking that sounds like if your chain is loose, but in the top end like where the cams or piston is. Any idea?
  24. These are pictures of a 2006 honda crf 250 right side case half. In the kick starter mechanism housing, there is a small piece of aluminum that bridges across a hole in the case. It broke off, and im wondering if anybody else has seen this before, and will it be an issue? I dont think it serves a purpose, but i would like a second opinion. Thanks!
  25. Let me start off saying I LOVE my 08 CRF450. It performs close to flawless...is in like new condition...zero complaints. So no real reason to replace it. With all the updates to the new Husky TC250 and KTM 250SX I am considering making the switch back to 2strokes. Just trying to gauge if I am just hyping myself up a bit over the new 2strokes or if it is worth considerong selling the 450 and picking up a new TC250. I mainly just ride on practice tracks for fun. I dont race serious and may run 1-2 per year. Just want to get some thoughts or if anyone already switched to a new 2stroke. I know it's a bit easy to hype yourself up when you want something.
