  1. I am having trouble getting the original inserts out of my Yoshimura RS-9's. Has anyone put the sparky's in these and had success? I bought the spark arrestors from Yoshimura, but for some reason cannot get the original inserts out to put in the spark arrested inserts. When I remove the bolt and nut, the insert doesn't budge at all. These pipes have fragile carbon end caps and I do not want to damage them by using force to try and pry them out. Here is the back of the pipes for reference. Thanks in advance Chase

    Won't Start

Hi All, I am trying to find ideas of why my 2010 CRF 250R will not start. When we first bought the bike we went for a ride and had no issues, we got home and washed it and it seemed to have gotten water somewhere on the electronics and did not start for a couple of days. We let it air out and sprayed with inox and it started fine. You can ride through water and it will not have any problems, but once it gets washed it will sometimes start but not every time. The bike has about 65 Hours on it, The last ride i had it stalled on me going up a hill and it would not idle anymore. We took it to the local motorcycle shop and got the valves shimmed and cleaned out the fuel tank, fuel filter and fuel pump got a new spark plug and it idled fine without any trouble. We have just rebuilt the water pump and put it all back together and once again the bike would not start. Pulled the spark plug out as we thought the bike may have fouled the brand new spark plug and replaced it with an older one and it started fine. Put the other plug we just took out of it back in and it started again, so we kept that plug in and now it will not start again. What could be occurring this to happen? We know it has spark and that it's not starving for fuel. Reminder: Valves just done, Cleaned fuel pump/Filter & New plug.
  4. Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to put a crf250x exhaust on a crf250r. The reason is I need a quite exhaust for riding on a small property. And Are their any other products that will do the same (something as quite as a crf100f stock exhaust). Thanks
  5. So I have had my 2005 Honda CRF 150F for around 4 years. It always gave me a hard time when it came to idling, but now the bike will just stall from idling for 3 min. I have to constantly rev the engine just a bit to keep the bike running. It runs great but when you come to a complete stop and put it in neutral, it dies. I preform regular maintenance on the bike but have not taken the whole bike apart myself. I was wondering if it would have something to do with the fuel/air mix screws.... i dont really know which one is which, i might have turned them too much(yes im a bit confused). I have attached a picture and if someone could tell me which one should be adjusted and how many turn out they should be. ( i have adjusted the bottom screw - near exhaust pipe and the middle screw..) Is there anything I could do to see if it will fix the problem before I would need to take it in to be serviced.
  6. Any idea what bike I should get I want something fast I'm 5'8 125 pounds and 13 years old
  7. Hey Everyone! I went on a fun ride in the hills east of San Diego. It was super fun trails and the conditions were great but we almost ran into two different riders coming the opposite direction. Check it out!
  8. Back story. Just finished complete rebuild new head, valves, crank, bearings seals, and muffler bearing. I've checked, double checked ,and checked again timing. Exhaust valves are .011 and the intake are. .007 (I know a frog hair loose). It will fire right up when towed and it will stay running. So I am assuming ( I know) the carb probably needs some help. Can you guys point me in the right direction as I am baffled by carburetor theory and function. By the way happy Mother's Day to any that are reading brad
  9. So recently I got a 2002 Xr100r off of a friend who recently crashed the bike and just scraped the plastics and cracked the front fender. I am looking to replace the plastics with a different color preferably black but I can not find anyone selling them for the year or even the Xr100r itself. Is there any aftermarket kit that would fit the bike? I would prefer either grey or black since I think they look nice on this kind of bike, but if I cannot find grey or black I will settle with OEM or something else if need be. Any help is appreciated and I hope I can make the bike look nice again.
  10. So I've been riding a crf230f road legal conversion done, but I need something a little more powerful, and able to ride longer distances on asphalt to get to a trail. I want something light weight and reliable, but also road worthy and inexpensive. Narrowed down to: Suzuki Drz400 BMW G650X challenge Dr650 (although too heavy) Xr650l (heard it lacks bottom end) Ktm, Husqvarna, ccm, husaberg etc are out of bounds (due to price or maintenance issues.) Note: buying second hand
  11. Hi guys i have some questions and would appreciate any help you guys may have. I have a 1998 yz 250 ive had for a few years thats been in the famliy for awile. I am doing a ground up redo on it this winter. Im geting a used frame because the one i have dosent have a title so i figured wile im at it ill get a 1998/1997 wr 250 frame so i can make it street legal. I know the 98 wr 250 wasent introduced in the us but the 97 was and the yz 250 is the same bike from 96 to 98. So my question is are the wr 250s the same ? Could i find a 97 wr250 frame and swap everything from my 98 yz 250 to it ? I wont realy ride it on the street much considering its not the best bike for commuting (by far) lol, but i figure if im geting another frame with a title miswell be able to throw my street tires on it and rip some twistes with it if i want to. Thanks for any help.
  12. I went for a ride today with some friend and my bike shit on me. The bike ran just fine yesterday but today it had some trouble starting up. after warming it up for a little bit it stalled because my clutch cable is messed up. After it stalled the bike was really hard to start I had to bump start it. We went out for a little ride and came back after the bike stalled again and had to bump start it. We charged the battery and the bike would start with e start (still not easy). Then we went out for a longer ride stalled a few times had a lot of trouble starting and on the way back I started to hear a ticking noise from the head (I think), there might also be a ticking noise from the clutch too. It sounds like this guys bike. I think its the valves but I don't know why they would make that noise.
  13. Hello friends, I'm proud of my little 8-year-old because he has become familiar enough with our 2007 Honda CRF50F to manage it himself, including starting, warming up, and putting it away when he's done. Here's a video I took of him yesterday.
  14. Hey my buddy has a honda crf450r and started making noises recently, or a while ago, we thought nothing of it, thought maybe the chain or something, the bikes always coming up with problems, but they got louder, and so he stopped riding it and is gonna look into it. Does anyone have any ideas what it is? To be specific, it sounds like a clanking that sounds like if your chain is loose, but in the top end like where the cams or piston is. Any idea?
  15. Just wondering if anyone has done it? and if it is possible to do so
  16. Hey guys, bought a clean, used CRF250R from a guy. Ran great. Personally test drove it. But hard to start. Could kick over 20 times before starting. Once running, ran like a beast once warmed up. I parked it for about a month and came back to ride and won’t start at all. Check air filter and was dirty as heck, and a mouse decided to make my air box a home and have some babies. So, new air filter and a new plug. Still no start. And btw, the fuel in the tank was put in during the last time I rode it. Non-ethanol 91octane. Pull the new plug and it’s wet. So I clean the plug and put it back in. Nothing and it’s wet again. Check that it has spark. Yep! Has spark. Stator at 17.1 ohms. Check power of spark with multimeter and measures 0.1 volts??? Had the multimeter at lowest setting. Honda dealer said to pull the plug, poor a pop bottle capful of fuel in cylinder and see if it starts... it did but then died almost immediately. But I also didn’t have the fuel tank hooked up at the time. I would think that there would be enough fuel in the bowl to allow it to run for more than a second...? Called them back and they said it’s my carburetor. Basically, pull it and clean it. Does everything make sense? U all agree? No need to “rebuild” the carb? The spark issue...I know spark should look blueish. This looks white to me. Any other suggestions? Thanks. Anything will help.
  17. Hello, i'm looking at getting a different dirt bike I had a 2004 crf150f for awhile and did not like it at all, the carb was slightly rich and everything was stalk except the bars and grips. and a few months back I got to ride, a 2002 yz85, and I had alot of fun. but i'm doing more woods and trail riding and, and my dad says I would like a upgraded crf150f... but that thing is so heavy and slow I have trouble believing that. so I guess the the question is. should I get a yz85, or cr85 and set them up for woods or would I like a modified crf150f or is there a bike i'm leaving out of the question? the only brands i'm interested in is Honda and yamaha. and i'm 13 years old and 5'1'' Thanks
  18. Should I buy a 2002 YZ426f OR a 2009 CRF250R? The YZ has alot of extras and looks to be in pretty good shape, the owner used it alot, but took care of it. The CRF is in EXCELLENT condition and looks great Both bikes are for sale at about $1500, but i should be able to talk it down a bit I'm having a difficult time deciding between the two, I'd be sacrificing power for age and vice versa, idk any insight would be helpful. Thanks
  19. Im thinking about getting another crf250r and wanted some opinions on what you guys think the best years are. I have an 2007 right now but want to know if its worth it to get something newer. The biggest things I would like to know are reliability, handling, and last power. thanks

    2017-18

I am likely going to purchase in the Spring of 2018 a new CRF150RB. I had one from their debut year, 2007, and after I finally dialed in the jetting, safety wired AP, flexible fuel screw, and whatever else I did to it, I had a really nice bike. This time around, I think I will need some stiffer fork springs. I'm a shorter guy, 5'5" and weigh around 160#, and I remember the forks bottoming out but the rear suspension was just fine. I am looking at purchasing in May (2018), so I won't know if Honda will be offering this bike in 2019: if anyone has info sometime in the future on whether or not Honda is releasing a 2019, I am interested in knowing. I doubt there would be any major changes, but I would nevertheless like to find out and make a decision. After a few years of playing around with different makes/models, I am going back to the 150RB. Anyway.... I don't think this model has changed a whole lot since 2007, but I am not 100% sure - have there been any major changes/modifications to the 150RB sine 2007, such as different jetting/AP mods or different suspension? I'm pretty sure there hasn't been much change, but might any of you know if there has been? Also, any additional advice (jetting, suspension, etc) you might have would be greatly appreciated.
  21. So to simplify this, I'm getting an XR100 like next weekend and I was looking for upgrade parts to make it competitive with a crf125, or just make it go faster 😏. Ive heard of many of the mods already but i have a very tight budget. Is there any other rejetting or other things I need to do after installing these? I'm thinking FMF header, atc200x carb, bbr120 kit, and modded air filter/ intake. (wanted a hotcam camshaft too but may be out of budget). I really only have about 350 to spend. I was also wondering if the cr80 throttle and cable are really needed for the atc200x catb. And the big question is if i buy these is there anything id have to buy to make them work or fit? nothing worse then brand new parts you cant use... also is this the 200x carb? http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/301891165034?chn=ps&dispItem=1

    2018 CRF450X

New bike is confirmed, your welcome.
  23. These are pictures of a 2006 honda crf 250 right side case half. In the kick starter mechanism housing, there is a small piece of aluminum that bridges across a hole in the case. It broke off, and im wondering if anybody else has seen this before, and will it be an issue? I dont think it serves a purpose, but i would like a second opinion. Thanks!
  24. Let me start off saying I LOVE my 08 CRF450. It performs close to flawless...is in like new condition...zero complaints. So no real reason to replace it. With all the updates to the new Husky TC250 and KTM 250SX I am considering making the switch back to 2strokes. Just trying to gauge if I am just hyping myself up a bit over the new 2strokes or if it is worth considerong selling the 450 and picking up a new TC250. I mainly just ride on practice tracks for fun. I dont race serious and may run 1-2 per year. Just want to get some thoughts or if anyone already switched to a new 2stroke. I know it's a bit easy to hype yourself up when you want something.
  25. I can't get my gas cap to come off! When trying to spin it off, it just kinda clicks like it isn't grasping or something. Not a fan of this new seemingly unnecessary gas cap design.
