  1. Crf100 with a BBR 120 kit, web cam 68/69 cam, Keihin 24mm carb that I’ve been running it successfully for a few years now. It has been amazing. I made some recent upgrades. The main two that might lend some help answering the questions are lightened fly wheel and I port and polished the head. I have built many motors and this one was flawlessly put back together twice since the noise. There is zero valve tap, no bent valves, cam lobes are perfect, springs are perfect, timing is spot on, there’s a ton of compression, no dents in the top of piston from possible valve, and valves are lashed perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Finally got my graphics and plastics on the bike and my build is complete! I’m super happy with how it turned out!! 04crf100. Was all stock besides the pipe when I got it. Mods I did: Tb 120 big bore, Daniel Crower racing cam, Mikuni vm26 carb & tb linger metal intake with cone filter. vonkat rear shock and RH Moto Worx linkage piece big bike Mika bars, tusk shifter, new style crf110 front fender and number plate, and the rest are crf70 plastics. Let me know what ya think!
  3. My son's CRF 100 needed linkage and swing arm rebuild. I bought the Pivot Works kits that replaces the OEM plastic bushings with steel needle bearings, seals, and roller pins. The needle bearings are super tricky to install. The needles are in open races with no retainers, and want to just fall out. For the linkage I used the dust caps as guides and just pressed them in. I Still had a few needles fall out but wasn't a huge problem. The swing arm is really hard. The kit comes with 2 bearings to replace each plastic bushing. I've heated the swing arm and froze the bearing but still having a hell of a time getting them pressed in. Question 1. What are the tricks to getting these bearings pressed into the swingarm? Question 2. Why are there 4 bearing seals instead of just 2? Question 3. I think it might have been better to just buy new plastic bushings?
  4. Hi all...sorry if this is a question that has come up in the past. I attempted to search through the forums but couldn't find an answer to my exact question. In the off season we picked up a ShiftUp Spartan big valve head for an xr/crf100. The plan is to put into our race bike that is currently running higher lift Megacycle camshaft. After looking at the ShiftUp head we noticed that the valve steams and springs are significantly smaller than what we are currently running the stock head. As a matter of fact when you look at the Megacycle catalog it specifically calls for using heaver springs. So the question is has anyone else had any experience running this head with anything other than the stock camshaft? If so what is the lift and duration of the camshaft you are running and have you run into any issues with valve float, or dropped valves? Thanks for the help.

Here's a few pics of my play bike 2007 CRF100 Crf80 wheels (best mod by far) BBR 120 BBR Web CAM racing stage 2 cam Atx honda 3 wheeler carb 110 main, 38 pilot Yoshimura exhaust (noticeable difference from FMF) Air box mod with big filter BBR frame cradle Tusk HD clutch/ springs (which sucks btw) Stock100 front sorocket, crf80 rear sprocket (this gearing is great) CRF70 oem plastics Custom graphics kit 1 BBR front spring with fresh atf fork fluid ABC slotter pads front/rear Ebay special seat cover lol (last pic is all I have of new cover) Oh yea, she'll run with the stock pipe just fine to keep the noise down for my neighborhood. I tried many modifications with the DB Dawg and yoshi, but it made no difference. I'll post videos later. I absolutely love this bike. I'm 165 lbs, and me and my 2 yr old ride on it just fine. Future mods would be a works rear shock, maybe lightened fly wheel, and possibly ignition if it helps.
  6. Hello, I'm sharing this video from a recent conversion I did on my bike. I tried my best to film, explain, then edit the video into a some what coherent stream of discussions. I've never made a video like this, nor have I ever done a conversion before. I'm sure there were a million better ways to produce a video like this, and probably 100 better ways to do this conversion. However, this was not the point of the video. I truly want to help anyone who is just trying to figure out how to squeeze a little more fun out these bikes while challenging our abilities of modification. I could not find a "how to" video any where on the ol interweb, so I thought I'd throw my ugly mug on one. Please enjoy.   7. Hello! Im looking into buying an xr100 to modify i have a $2000 budget for all of it im thinking fuel system mods, suspension mods, big bore, and ignition system if you have any of these mods how are they? im worried im gonna spend more then my friend did and then get gapped by his xr200

The kit is a lot more affordable for what you get compared to the bbr when you take in the specs on the bbr cam compared to stock IMO. with that being said has anyone ever bored out their 120cc big bore cylinder to say 136cc? Or what’s the safe limit you can take one to? I have full range use to a machine shop and have no problem doing it myself.
  9. I have posted about this bike a few times already but I wanted to make one single post on all the modifications I am doing to it. I am attempting to do everything as cheap as possible without sacrificing preformance. Prices and links will be provided if possible. Mods: DIY Rear suspension lift [1/4" steel plate] Filter screens removal ATC 200x Carb [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AVYXOZS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1] Airbox mods [not doing a pod, needs to be water resistant] Aftermarket CDI and Coil [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HG0EDGY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1] DIY Frame cradle [available for purchase but I want to make my own] Misc Exhaust mods [none yet] Headlight [have one from an XR600R installed, not wired yet, need voltage regulator, have one that may work from XR600R] I have another post about my progress on the rear end lift but I am going to be updating on that on this post now. I am working on designing a new shorter main link to lift the rear end in the cheapest way possible. Carb, CDI and coil are all ordered and on their way. Pictures will be posted regularly as I check items off the list. Some info on the bike. I traded a non-running incomplete parts XR600R for this bike and got it in a non-running condition. After some cleaning and adjusting I finally got it running. I grew up with one of these so I am excited to have one again. After some looking around online I have discovered there is a huge following of modifying and even racing this seemingly tame bike. Most of the parts I will be installing arent performance parts but simply replacements for the OEM parts that are now 28 years old and cheap and easy to replace. As I am currently in college most updates and work on the bike will be done on weekends. Any DIY parts I make will be run through FEA testing to validate strength and viability and have 3D models and engineering drawings available for anyone else to use to reproduce them [in college for mechanical engineering]. Most of the parts are simple but I like to practice good engineering. I also have a '85 XR600R that I will be working on at the same time as well as my '06 YZ250F race bike so if something goes wrong with either of the bigger bikes this project may be put on hold for a while. Nevertheless, I will continue to update anyone interested in this project and am open to any suggestions or advice from any of you thumper experts.
  10. Hello. I am a 19 year old female, looking for a dirtbike to learn to ride on. I am 170cm and weigh 50kg. I'm looking at two bikes atm but don't know what one would suit me best. Is a Honda CRF100 better or a Yamaha TTR125 ???. I don't mind if the bike is a little small as I am just wanting a bike to learn on and muck around on a padlock. Thanks.
  11. Just got a crf100 (free.) I’m a skilled adult rider so this will be a pit bike for me. I’d like to hear suggestions for upgrades for the bike but my biggest concern is the suspension and maybe the tire size. If anyone knows of any suspension kits ready to go for this bike (if there are any) I’d like to know about them. Also I have an old stock xr 100& an xr 80 laying around. One last thing, I’m not completely mechanical inclined but I can learn thanks
  12. My sons 2004 crf 100 died while driving, i checked when we got it home and we have no spark. Checked the usual parts, just in case ordered new cdi and coil. I have checked and have spark from black/red wire from stator, from. black/white from the CDI to Ignition. and kill switch. I did disconnect kill switch and ignition to rule them out the thing I find funny is if I unplug the 4 wire block from the CDI and check the connections direct from CDI I have spark from Green/White to body (ground) but None from Black/Yellow to Coil. At a complete loss and been waiting 3 weeks to go for our first ride together.
  13. So i put a new crank in my 06 crf100 after it has been sitting for 2 or 3 years. Got it all together and it runs and idles fine and if i give it gas when its in neutral its fine but when i put it in gear and give gas it bogs down bad, it seems like it runs alittle better with coke but hard to tell. So i have cleaned the carb like 2 or 3 times and that didnt work so i rebuild the carb and i have played with the pilot screw in about every setting and still has a really bad bog. Hope someone knows what im explaining or has had the same problem. Thanks

  15. So I have a 2007 crf 100 in good shape and I’m not sure if it’s really a pit bike for me. I’m 26, 5’7, and know how to ride. I came across this bike a while ago pretty much for free. The problem is I keep thinking I need a 110 (klx) for a pit bike partially for the tire size, overall weight, and a few features such as e start. Also I kinda don’t want a clutch for a pit bike. If I could sell this older 100 for a similar price to a newer 110 should I? Or should I keep what I have and stop thinking about it?

I was going down the path on my 2004 crf80 and all of a sudden the bike acted like it was out of gas so i put it on reserve and that didnt help so i came home and put gas in it and still did the same thing. So i cleaned carb, cleaned the spark plug, cleaned the air filter, adusted the valves and cam chain and none of it helped. When its sitting there idling it runs fine but when i put it in gear and ride it and give it throttle it has no power. It acts like its out of gas when its not and i know for a fact that its getting gas cause i made sure. Maybe someone up here has had the same problem and can help me figure this out.
