  1. I know, I know...it's not fair, but sometimes you gotta remind your boys who's the boss. Plus, racing is just plain fun. Had a blast out with my boys riding today. The bikes in the video are a 2007 Honda CRF70F, and a 2002 Kawasaki KLX300R.
  2. Hello friends, Here's a little video I shot of the whole crew of boys on bikes this past weekend. It's a hoot to ride with them all. We had a great time.
  3. Hello friends, I'm proud of my little 8-year-old because he has become familiar enough with our 2007 Honda CRF50F to manage it himself, including starting, warming up, and putting it away when he's done. Here's a video I took of him yesterday.
  4. Crf100 with a BBR 120 kit, web cam 68/69 cam, Keihin 24mm carb that I’ve been running it successfully for a few years now. It has been amazing. I made some recent upgrades. The main two that might lend some help answering the questions are lightened fly wheel and I port and polished the head. I have built many motors and this one was flawlessly put back together twice since the noise. There is zero valve tap, no bent valves, cam lobes are perfect, springs are perfect, timing is spot on, there’s a ton of compression, no dents in the top of piston from possible valve, and valves are lashed perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Need a little advise I'm new to this. Looking to buy a 07 crf70 with TB108 stroker kit.1) I was jw is there any simple way to tell if it's been bored it without tearing it down? What about compression in the kickstart? What would make it become more or less? 2) I read somewhere not to put the 4 speed AHS trans on the 108 bore? T/F? And can you convert the 4 speed to a manual clutch? All I can find is 3 speed kits. Maybe more than a couple questions, sorry. Just trying to get a feel for this.
  6. Hello friends, I pushed my boys to ride a little harder on a recent ride. No one got hurt, and nothing broke. It's so fun to watch them improving in their skills...
  7. Hello friends, My middle son has been riding the CRF50F for some time now and he asked me if he could try out the 70. The 50 prepared him perfectly for the 70 and he did awesome his first time on the bigger bike. For those who don't know, the 70 is much larger dimensionally than the 50.
  8. I stuck the GoPro on my 11 year old's helmet on our last group ride. We got some fun footage and I put together a little highlight video:
  9. Hello friends, I thoroughly enjoy watching my boys progress in their riding skills on 2 wheels. It's fun to see them grow in confidence...and just be outside having a good time. I love that we can do this together. Here's a short video of some highlights from this past Saturday.
  10. Hello folks, This past weekend it got pretty cold, so I took a "cold start" video early in the morning - our 2007 Honda CRF70F. These little Hondas are awesome. They do take a while to warm up when it's cold out. At least starting is not hard.
  11. I read somewhere the other day about putting a carb from a 70 on a 50 for a performance upgrade - did I read that right and is it legit? I'm guessing you'd have to tweak the intake a bit and then also use a pod style filter instead of the stock airbox? Also, if you don't have any other mods other than the carb, is it even worthwhile?
  12. I just bought my daughter a 2007 CRF70, she is stepping up from a CRF50. The bike is in good shape, just needs some fine tuning. grips graphics and bar pad. My question is about the grips, the bars are 7/8 ths of an inch (not 3/4 like a CRF50) but they are shorter (4 inches) than an adult bike. some of the reviews state putting CRF50 grip on a CRF70 cause splitting due to the 7/8 diameter. What grips will fit? What are you guys using. Thanks, Steve.
  13. Here's a few pics of my play bike 2007 CRF100 Crf80 wheels (best mod by far) BBR 120 BBR Web CAM racing stage 2 cam Atx honda 3 wheeler carb 110 main, 38 pilot Yoshimura exhaust (noticeable difference from FMF) Air box mod with big filter BBR frame cradle Tusk HD clutch/ springs (which sucks btw) Stock100 front sorocket, crf80 rear sprocket (this gearing is great) CRF70 oem plastics Custom graphics kit 1 BBR front spring with fresh atf fork fluid ABC slotter pads front/rear Ebay special seat cover lol (last pic is all I have of new cover) Oh yea, she'll run with the stock pipe just fine to keep the noise down for my neighborhood. I tried many modifications with the DB Dawg and yoshi, but it made no difference. I'll post videos later. I absolutely love this bike. I'm 165 lbs, and me and my 2 yr old ride on it just fine. Future mods would be a works rear shock, maybe lightened fly wheel, and possibly ignition if it helps.
  14. Picked up a 2003 XR70 and did the free mods to it. In case you don't it's just cutting the airbox snorkel piece and then some people remove the whole baffle, but we just removed the spark arrestor screen and then put it back in. The bike still starts easy and idles fine, but once you get into mid to high end the bike just sputters. It doesn't die or bog though, I already know it's running lean and was wondering if we need to bump up the main or pilot jet? already moved the needle clip to the bottom. Elevation Is about 850-870 feet above sea level if that matters.
  15. Hello friends, Seeing as how school was about to begin, I took my boys on a 16-mile exploration ride through the country. Along the way we found a neat levee, and the boys rode across it on their little Honda dirt bikes (CRF50F and CRF70F). These little bikes are awesome. Dirt bikes are a great way to spend time together, in my opinion.
  16. Hello friends, I've seen much debate on which motor oil is best for the mini bikes. I decided to go ahead - having had great experience with Pro Honda HP4S synthetic oil in previous machines - and try it on our 2007 Honda CRF70F. So far, I can already say that the transmission seems to shift smoother and more quietly. And call me crazy, but kicking it over it feels like it has more compression than before??? It's running fantastic since the change and doesn't seem adversely affected in any way...yet. Anyhow, I threw a little video together of the process while I was teaching my boy how it's done.
  17. Has anyone put a 10 inch z50 rim on the back of a Crf70? I know people put the 8inch z50 rear tires on the 50’s so wondering if a 10 inch z50 rim would fit on a 70
  18. I'm OK at doing wheelies in 2nd and 3rd gear but I can't do slow wheelies at all. So I'm wondering if I could use me kids CRF70 or CRF80 for some slow wheelie practice? I would think since they have a shorter wheelbase it would be more difficult to hold it at the balance point. Anyone done this and have any thoughts or pointers? Thanks!
  19. 2002 XR70. I'm looking to fit a UNI 2-stage pod filter to it. I will verify the intake side diameter, but the options of UNI filter sizes/shapes/angles seem limitless... I found this one on T-bolt that I think I'm going to go with, assuming it'll fit the carb https://tboltusa.com/store/uni-dual-stage-foam-air-filterbr-35mm125in-p-1180.html But on dennis kirk, they have what seem like 101 difference UNI filters - longer, shorter, fatter, angled... Just want to make sure I get one that'll fit properly between the frame and case. Also, I know I'll likely have to re-jet it and I am capable of doing so, but if someone has a setup that is working for them, I'd love to hear what you did to give me an idea of a baseline. (completely stock bike and exhaust). Thanks!
  20. Hello friends, For his birthday my son asked that he and I go on a dirt bike ride together. So I rode our 2007 CRF70F and he rode our 2007 CRF50F and we had an awesome morning. This was so much fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVNs7P96YX4
  21. Hello friends. We added a 2007 Honda CRF70F to the fleet, and here is a video introduction of the bike. I know it's simple, but I'm proud of it, and we are already enjoying it very much. What a cool little bike.
  22. Hey everyone, I just picked up a crf 70 as a pitbike and when I returned home it was having issues getting into the high revs without holding it for a while. I am in the car right now so I cant test anything, so I just wanted to run the issue by some more knowledgable poeple. Also, it was having issues idling, could this be the issue? Thanks in advance!
  23. Need to pick up a used starter bike for my 8 Y.O's birthday next month. Craigslist has plenty of 07-09 CRF70s around, but TTR90s are not as plentiful (none local). Does anyone have any opinions on which of these 2 models is superior? Looks like TTR only weighs 4-5 lbs more and has electric start, as well just slightly more travel on both ends. The electric start is really what is making me think I'm going to go the extra mile(s) for a TTR. Riding will be cruising around the ranch and learning to handle the bike before moving into something with a clutch in a year or 2. 2 younger brothers a couple years younger will be chomping at the bit to take it from him. Thanks!
  24. It really hard to kickstart my crf70 sometimes. It usually fires up on the first kick. But it seems like after a ride it and cut it back off it's hard to get started again. I'm guessing it's from the compression making it hard to kick. Is there anyway to adjust the compression? Or what does the compression from?
  25. I picked up a 2004 crf 70 this week. When I got it home I ran it around for a little bit and it was running a little rough. whenever I shift in to second gear it Boggs down to almost a stop. Pulled the carb off and cleaned it and still having the same problem What could be the problem?
