Somebody smart, please. Here's da facts. 1. 2000 XR650R 2. Xrs Only sez I have the older stator rewind that has 8 wires coming off - back when they ran the big lights for racing. 3. It was set up for only AC (dual AC regs) 4. Had the K&S 12-0040 turn signal control & horn on it. The PO cut the K&S connectors off. The lights work, no turn signals or horn working. 5. I put a DB headlight and DC reg/rec on it mounted the horn and I bought the NiCd battery pack. I got some nice shrink bullet connectors and started to work. 6. I pulled the second AC regulator off, leaving the stock one in place. The DC reg/rec is set up just like the instructions show. I'm running that extra pink AC stator wire into the stock AC regulator. I could land a plane on a boat, but I can't seem to make an Ohm meter work. So I'm kinda slow figuring out the wiring. It starts, lights work, but they are still running off the AC. So here's my question. The K&S has a H/L main wire, T/S main wire and Horn main wire. I have 2 DC power wires running to the front of the bike. The battery is attached to the headlight number plate the second wire...do I split it to the H/L and T/S main? What about the Pink Horn main? The last question is, where to I patch the electronic turn signal flasher relay? I totally appreciate any direction. Thanks!
I'm looking to convert my xr650r to full DC power and was wondering if anyone here was using a terminal bus bar ? something like this one : https://www.amazon.com/DSC-TB01-Terminal-Block-Splits-Input/dp/B005K49NMW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1510464051&sr=8-2&keywords=bus+bar&dpID=310kVzto9uL&preST=_QL70_&dpSrc=srch I'm looking to make the wiring a bit more simplified if possible, and have a single organized place like this that everything can connect to and run to battery would be incredibly useful. Thoughts ? Suggestions ?
