  1. Is it possible (Or any kits available) to convert my Dry Sump to a Wet Sump on my DRZ SM?
  2. So I've just received my used FCR39MX off of a guy on one of the FB DRZ Groups. Just looking for some recommendations on getting it setup, troubleshooting, tips and tricks to making the whole thing work. Things I should look for, or replace on the carb itself? My Bike: 2018 DRZ400SM 1750 miles Mods: MRD SSW Shorty Full System JD Jet Kit (850ft) K&N Filter 3X3 Mod Stock Gearing Carb is jetted for an 09' DRZ400SM with the same mods
  3. I have a clark over sized tank and was wondering if the tank grips will bubble up like stickers or reg graphics do?
  4. Kinda new on here and apparently posted this in wrong section yesterday. So here we go again. Anyone have any idea why my blinkers won’t flash on my drz sm. When I turn them on they do light up, but they stay solid. I did switch to integrated blinkers from zeta which Integrate into the hand guard. But they’ve been working fine until a few days ago. I know people say you need the load resistor or diode circuit. But personally I don’t care about hyper flash and tbh when I hooked them up they didn’t hyper flash and they’ve been working fine. So I can’t imagine that would be the problem here. Got to be something else. Any one had similar problem or hear about this?

Hey I know this might be some sort of a recycled topic but my DRZ400SM has a straight pipe done by the previous owner and its loud, I will soon be moving to an apartment in Sacramento and don't want to be loud but I also want performance. I was looking at the FMF Q4 exhaust along with the FMF Powerbomb header and a JD jet kit, but after the numbers add up I can get a Yoshimura RS-2 for around the same price. In terms of performance will I regret getting the FMF Q4 over something like the FMF PowerCore 4 a yoshi or even an MRD? Noise is a concern but if its that big of a difference I'll take the sacrifice. Thanks!
  6. OK back to the basics. I know its been discussed a thousand times, but I would like some direct answers from the BEST of Thumper Talk followers. Bike: 2017 DRZ SM Environment: Pennsylvania, USA - About 1000ft above Sea, Temps = 60-75 degrees Mods: - 3x3 - MRD Exhaust Z-Pro Shorty Version - Twin Air Filter - Keihin FCR MX 39mm aircut valve, hot start NO TPS (160 Main 45 Pilot, O-Ring Mod, EMN 3rd position Clip) PROBLEM: Bike runs like a MONSTER 1/8 throttle to Full Throttle. But there's a slight lag from zero to 1/8 throttle. I can turn my fuel screw all the way in and it still idles fine. On the other hand, I can turn it out 2 1/2 turns out and it idles fine. There's is definitely backfiring on de-acceleration (Almost seems like normal popping though, nothing to crazy). My question is, should I change my pilot jet to a smaller jet or try moving the clip position first?
  7. Alright boy and girls Been doing some research on front and rear brake upgrades for my 2018 DRZ400SM. I currently have the Rear brakes set to instill here soon. (COREMoto Steel Braided Lines, 2012 Yamaha FZR6 Rear Master Cylinder / Yamaha OEM Brembo Part, EBC Carbon X pads) And I'll have an install right up on that soon. I'm needing some insight into a custom Brembo Radial setup for the front. My plan is to run the Brembo 4 piston caliper with the QTM Mount. Having trouble finding a 320mm rotor that will work with the Brembo Caliper. Trying to spend as little as possible, have the caliper and the bracket now, looking for a 320mm rotor option as well as a radial master cylinder for the front. I've seen some guys use the Katana Front master, KTM oem Brembo master and the R1/R6 master. I've found a Yamaha OEM Brembo Semi-Radial master cylinder for a 2006-2016 R6. Comes with the brake switch connectors as well. Wanted to see if anyone has used this set up or had any luck with another direction.
  8. Hey DRZBros, I'm looking to do a straight trade of my 2014 FZ09 for a DRZsm and wanted to get y'all's two cents on things to look out for. Specifically, what would be some items/checks you'd do before going through with the deal. I'm not asking about the basic stuff (chain, sprocket, fluids, other consumables, etc.). What I'm wondering is if there's any model years, common mods people f*** up, or any other DRZ specific things I should be wary of. A little context, I'm in SoCal/LA. The FZ has 35.5k miles and is in good condition mech/cosmetic wise with the typical mods (sliders, tank pads, shorty levers, etc.). Any tips/advice would be appreciated. Bike pics attached below.   9. Hello all, I just got a 2017 drz 400sm that was stock with 615 miles when I bought it. I did the 3x3 and installed the JD jet kit with recommended setting for stock exhaust and correct altitude. The problem I'm having is the bike runs fine for a mile or so then sputters and dies completely. The I can get it started again if I set the fuel to prime and It'll go about a mile back to the house. Seems like it's running the bowl empty and not allowing gas to flow after. I've thought of tinkering with the fuel mixture screw but I don't want to do anything before I get input from someone who knows more than I. Any help is appreciated.
  10. Bought a 2019 drz and I’ve installed a yoshimura rs3 exhaust. I haven’t don’t a 3x3 mod or jet and the bike back fires quite a bit. Wondering why and what can be done to fix this? Can I 3x3 without jetting? Or is it worth it just to jet and 3x3 all at once and I live at sea level

  12. Hey all, been a TT user for a great many years and I've gained a lot of knowledge from the threads in this time, but this is the first time i've needed to ask for help! We've had some pretty biblical rain over the last couple of days and on a ride-out last night I approached some flood water around a blind corner and ended up shin deep (whilst on the bike) the bike cut out in the middle of it. Now being from the UK, i've taken this bike through its fair share of flood water and never had any issues with it, albeit this water was a little deeper than usual but it was still no where near the exhaust can. Once I was out of the water I leant the bike over both sides to try and drain any residual water, it initally felt and sounded like with a few attempts it would kick over but soon became apparent that i was gonna have to walk it home 2 miles! So the starter motor is now making a horrible clicking/ failing noise like it would if the battery was too low (I charged it last night) I know time is of the essence when it comes to water issues so am just hoping for some possible guidance on what to do next? Thanks in advance
  13. So to add another issue with my 2005 DRZ400S adventures, I've been having a tail light problem for a little while now. Just suddenly stopped working right. I was testing wires, making sure connections are good, testing continuity, voltage etc etc. It was strange because I had a parking light if I switched the ignition to park, but with with the ignition on RUN, there was no tail light only brake light. Weird right? Welp, after reading people's tail light stories on thumpertalk and searching the internet for other advice, I was on the verge of taking it into the shop... So I decided to give it one more shot. After chasing the tail light wires back through the harness to the ignition switch, I pulled the ignition switch off and discovered that the brown lead (the tail light wire) had broken off the ignition switch. A quick little resoldering job and voila it now works! Bet ya $100 bucks the shop would have said..."umm yes we need to replace that bad ignition switch...that will be $200 for the part and $150+ for labor". HA.....Not today dude! So if you're having weird tail light problems like I did, remove your ignition switch and check those connections. Ya never know..
