  1. 10 World, Junior and Women’s Trophy riders — along with 21 Club Team riders — will represent the United States in the 2021 FIM International Six Days Enduro PICKERINGTON, OH – June 9, 2021 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – The American Motorcyclist Association announced today the 10 Trophy team riders selected to represent the United States at the 2021 FIM International Six Days Enduro in Italy on Aug. 30 – Sept. 4, 2021. The 10 Trophy riders will compete as the U.S. World Trophy, Junior World Trophy and Women’s World Trophy teams. Every country participating in the ISDE is allowed four riders on its World Trophy Team, three riders age 23 or younger on its Junior Trophy Team, and three female riders on its Women’s team. The U.S. World Trophy Team last won the ISDE — the world’s largest annual off-road motorcycle competition — in 2019, giving the U.S. its second ISDE World Trophy title. The U.S. Women’s Trophy team won in 2019, as well, the first time since 2007 the Women’s Trophy team had taken the award. The 2021 U.S. World Trophy Team includes: Johnny Girroir of Boonville, N.C., GASGAS EC 250F; Taylor Robert of Scottsdale, Ariz., KTM 450 XC-F; Layne Michael of Boonville N.C., Yamaha YZ450F; and Ryan Sipes of Ekron, Ky., GASGAS EC 300 TPI. The 2021 U.S. Junior World Trophy Team, made up of riders age 23 and younger, includes: Cody Barnes of Sterling, Ill., Honda CRF250R; Dante Oliveira of Hollister, Calif., KTM 450 XC-F; and Austin Walton of Sparks, Nev., Husqvarna FX450. The 2021 U.S. Women’s World Trophy team includes: Brandy Richards of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., KTM 250 XC-F; Rachel Gutish of Terre Haute, Ind., Beta 250 RR; and Britney Gallegos of Monte Vista, Colo., Husqvarna 250FX. Joining the 10 Trophy riders are 21 Club Team riders, who have qualified through the AMA East and West ISDE Qualifier series in the first six months of the season. Club Team riders include: Tyler Vore — Indianapolis, Ind. Axel Pearson — Panaca, Nev. Tanner Whipple — Colona, Ill. Preston Campbell — Murrieta, Calif. Travis Reynaud — Strafford, Mo. Anson Maloney — Grass Valley, Calif. Cade Henderson — Pacelot, S.C. Josh Knight — Ogden, Utah Talon Soenksen — Fife Lake, Utah Anthony Ferrante — Penn Valley, Calif. Nicholas Swenson — Delano, Minn. Nathan Ferderer— Bend, Ore. Grady Faint — Hoschton, Ga. Joel Tonsgard — Arlington, Wash. Brian Storrie — McKinney, Texas Jayson Densley — Fairfield, Utah Reid Brown — North Plains, Ore. Mateo Oliveira — Hollister, Calif. John Beal — Snohomish, Wash. Cole Martinez — Camp Verde, Ariz. “We are thrilled to continue to grow the talent in the field of Club Team riders after taking the Club Cup win at the last ISDE in Portugal,” commented AMA Off-Road Racing Manager Erek Kudla. “We’ve got a great mix of seasoned veterans like Brian Storrie, who’s going to his 17th ISDE, and brand-new faces like 18-year-old Anthony Ferrante and 16-year-old Cade Henderson, going to their very first ISDE.” The AMA’s ISDE effort would be impossible without the support of various companies. These include KTM, FMF, Trail Jester, Bonanza Plumbing. Arai Helmets, Motion Pro, Spectro Oils and Rabaconda. #### Source:
  2. I'm planning a late summer/early Fall roadtrip somewhere in the PNW and am looking for recommendations for trail systems/areas to add to my list. Looking for rugged, challenging trail systems in Oregon/Washington (maybe Idaho). My group is coming from Northern California, near San Francisco. So far, I've got Prospect OHV, John's Peak, and Jordan Creek on my list. Anywhere else you all recommend I look into? Would September be good riding conditions in Oregon? Or should I perhaps wait a bit for the rainy season and possibly end of fire season? Thanks!
  3. I guess this is kind of a novice question but may as well ask. Does anyone have any little known tips/ secrets you used to get faster offroad/ enduro races. I find that I mainly struggle with confidence in the wide open type stuff (40-45 mph) and cornering. All help is appreciated? thanks.
  4. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Does anyone know if i can still find airoh aviator 2.1's for sale, and for a good price? Thanks.

  6. would a kx250h be a good amateur enduro bike? new to enduro racing and looking to buy a 1990 Kawasaki KX250H. i have a ninja 1990 zx 1000 b3. ? its been fun ridding/rebuilding the zx 1000. i would like to stay with kawasaki. anyway, just wondering if the parts for this older kx250h are still available? really did not see much on ebay. bike bandit has some but, what do i know. i will be getting some kind of kx 250 for enduro. any advise would be great. can not afford a new one so looking to the older bikes to start. looking forward to be on thumper talk. looks to be a good site for dirt bikes? Big Hair thought i put this in the 2 stroke forum, sorry.
  7. Hi guys, a couple of weeks ago the electric starter on my 05 wr250f quit working after working like a charm for a couple of years without any issues. It still started pretty easy kicking it but I put a brand new battery in it to see if that would fix the electric start but that didn't do the trick. I'm decently handy at working on my bike but i don't want to start playing around with the electric start unit/other electrical components so i decided i want to take it to a shop to get fixed up. While its there I was going to ask them to rebuild the carb since its been sitting for a while and could use a rebuild/re-jetting. Anyways, i want to see if anyone else has had a shop do a carb rebuild and/or fix the electric start on their wr250f, and how much $$$ it cost. I'd like to have an idea of how much it cost for you guys so I can have a good gauge on how the shops will price the job. Any shared experiences will be appreciated!!! Thanks
  8. Was watching Romaniacs 2017 last night and saw this on a quick flash to a riders bike. These grips have a "Ridge" at the front to aid in throttle control. Anyone know what company makes these or what they would be called? I searched all night and cannot find a thing! Thanks in advance for the help!
  9. Time2ride is a newish dirtbike park just southwest of the DFW area. I will do a full review video later, but this is a video of the entire track (both kids and big bike). Rather slow, as this was our first ride of the day, but it should give you an idea of what to expect. In short, while it is not what a lot of people would call "challenging" it is a LOT of fun, and really great practice. If you have ever played golf (which I haven't in 10-15 years...), you probably know what a 9 hole practice course is and how fun they are. I think of this place kind of like that. Great place you can take new riders, and still have a great time yourself! Definitely worth taking a trip out there! http://www.time2ridetx.com/
  10. Anyone’s air box smell like gas ? Is this normal ? Air filter is bone dry but it reeks in there .... I’m assuming cause of the carb being semi filled with gas ??
  11. Good day, I've just bought an enduro jacket like in the picture below. There are two things I don't understand about it. First is what that ring is for. Seems I've read somewhere that it's to shut off the ignition in case you dismount. But how do I connect that ring to my motorcycle? I ride a street-legal Honda CRF250 Rally. The second question is about that socket for the water pipe. I don't understand where I'm supposed to put the water bladder. I have a Kriega camelbag and it works independently. But where it's supposed to put the water bladder when using that socket? There is a small pocket on the inner side just below it, but I doubt even a one liter bladder would fit there let alone 3 liters that I have. Please help the noob. 🙂
  12. Hi everyone and merry chrimbo to all. Ive pretty much finished my resto project and everything’s great apart from the dim lights. I bought the bike with the problem, and thought it would be an easy fix. Nothing seems to fix the fault. So far, I’ve replaced the whole wiring harness, the rear light and wires, brake light switch and wires, front light holder and wires, speedo cable and wires. All 6v bulbs and I even had the light coils checked and replaced. So everything has been done apart from the handlebar switchgear. I had the frame powdercoated, but sanded the main earth point for the harnsess, so it’s a good earth. Even, ground two points of the five engine mounting points away hoping that might help. All the electrics work like they should including the pass light, just dim lights. Has anyone had this problem? Does the engine need to be grounded at every point? I thought if the engine had one good ground that would be enough. Really at a loss with this, and if I can’t sort I have to admit defeat and had it over to an auto electrician ?
  13. Hows it goin everyone, I've owned a dirt bike for about 1month 1/2 now, been practicing around my property, made a little jump (probably only about 1.5ft high), working on making a little rut to corner in, and have hit the trails twice (Mostly ATV trails, 1 or 2 single track). And even hit a little MX track at said trail. My question is, is what is the best technique to be hitting/going over obstacles such as tree logs, stumps or rocks? I have the basic ability to do a wheelie (popping clutch or power wheelies) and my biggest question is, do good riders pop the clutch to go over obstacles? or do they just gas it and keep weight to the back? I've been watching these "Enduro Kex" Guys on youtube, and watching them just do hill climbs and obstacles in the forest is so cool to me. I've noticed when hill climbing: be standing, good throttle (With 2 strokes they keep their RPM in their power band, how do I want to be doing this with a 4 stroke?), rear break control, very close to front of bike and leaning forward, and no fear. Am I understanding the BASIC concept of a hill climb or am I way off? I've noticed for clearing obstacles: be standing, either pop clutch / crack throttle (can't tell because of hand gaurds), weight to the back of bike just before / as you hit obstacle. Which is the best/correct technique for going over decent size logs/stumps/rocks? popping clutch or just giving gas. I've encountered a single log blocking the path on my few trail experiences, and the one I did come across was really small that I wasn't even worried about clutch/gas/leaning back, I just gave a little extra gas and went right over it. So, what is the correct / best / most efficient way to clear obstacles, do hill climbs, and is there anything I can do to improve my skill as a new rider (other than just keep riding and practicing what I'm weaker at) Riding a '04 YZ250F if it makes any difference to technique (4stroke vs 2 stroke(?) )
  14. Is the dr250 any good of a street legal bike for cruisin down the back roads or around little towns? Around 60mph needed max. Any problems I should be aware of?

  16. so I bought a 1986 xr600r a few months back. Third owner of it now. the bike ran for a good month or two, but then shit hit the fan. it started just fine but when i went to ride it it would randomly die. i would let it sit for a bit thinking that it was overheating then it would turn start again. that went on for about a week. then it just wouldn't start at all, no spark. so i took it into the shop, not being skilled with wiring. they charged me 300 buck to fix a couple bad wire and connections. so i picked it up and got it home. started it a couple times because i was to busy to ride but wanted the keep it alive. then same shit. no spark again. so this time i was like &%$#@! that I'm not paying to have them fix a couple bad wires again. so i checked the connections they looked good i replaced the ignition coil and the rectifier because they were giving me bad readings, and now I'm stuck because the shop said the stator was the first thing they checked and it was fine so what am i missing. Please help!!!!!

  20. Hey guys, I'm new to thumper, but I was hoping I could find someone who could help me. HERES THE DEAL! I've been riding 4 strokes for about 7 years now, but the 2T world has recently gotten my attention! I currently ride a 2006 YZ250F. (Fully rebuilt by myself;). I ride the piss out of it and I feel like it's missing something. I've tried shaking things up like riding different terrain(sand dunes,Rocks, etc.) I thought maybe I would try a 450, I got to ride my buddies CRF450X. lol that bike humbled me. It was way to high and It felt a LOT heavier. I crossed out the 450 bc I think it would be a waste and I wouldn't be able to push the bike to its limits. With that being said I'm trying to decide between (2017 Ktm 150 sx, 2017 Ktm 250sx, and 2017 YZ250 and/or the X model). Here's me.. I'm roughly 5'8" 175-185lbs. I lift 5-6 days a week. I enjoy riding anything and everything as long as I get to ride.
  21. Hello all, I just got my frist KTM a couple of weeks ago, and I am very happy so far! I find the gear perfect for the woods and tight trails, but I also use the bike for open trails, and some times I ride up to 50 km (30 miles) in order to get to the interesting trails, so here comes my questions: 1. Will the bike a loose a lot of torque with a 14 tooth front sprocket? Will I notice an actual improvement in the open trails? 2. Is it ok for the engine to ride 30 miles (and back) at regular speeds (50 mph) before getting the the trails? Or should I be looking very cautious at the amount of hours I put on the engine? I am planning to do oil changes every 300 miles, and regular air filter cleaning. On open roads is the only time that I some times miss my WR 450 F. I was using 14/48. But once I get to the trails, i just forget her completely. Thanks for the advice! Cristián
  22. I am racing the Baja1000 for the first time this year on a team. All of the guys I am racing with have years of experience and have raced on teams and iron manned the race. Most of the guys I will be racing with have KTM or Hondas but I myself have the 2010 Yamaha YZ450F. I am looking for any recommendations on setting the bike for baja. I am an advanced rider, my style is somewhat aggressive, I weigh 180lbs and am 6'1. I am looking to maximize my fuel capacity, connect a light, kickstand, and tires. I am curious about gearing, and mapping for the bike as well as any other ideas you want to throw my way.
