  1. Just bought a 2004 yz250f and want to know what the best engine oil I can use on it. After some research on forum pages I found that Valvoline Full Sythetic 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil or Shell Rotella 15W-40 Heavy Duty Engine Oil are oils that people recommend on many bikes. On the other hand the owner's manual says: At 40 Fahrehiet or higher Yamalube 4 (20W-40) or SAE 20W-40 type SG motor oil (Non-friction modified) At 60 Fahrenhit or lower Yamalube 4 (10W-30) or SAE 10W-30 type SG Motor oil (Non-friction modified) and/or Yamalube 4-R (15W-50) (non-friction modified) So any suggestions on what I should go with? *Couldnt find another topic like mine, link me if you know of any that would answer my question, or just give me your suggestion.

    HELP yz250 clutch question!

so i bought a yz 250 recently and right off the bat after the test ride i noticed the clutch was a little sticky but it was a good price so i bought it anyway. when i took it apart today the first thing i noticed was that the oil i drained out of it was red, ATF right? i have heard of guys using ATF in their bikes so i didn't really think anything of it but once i got deeper into the motor i found it really hard to pull the discs out and that they would come out stuck to each other.. stuck together by the oil. the hub looks basically brand new and the basket has some wear on it but nothing real deep, at least not deep enough to hold anything together i think so was it the oil causing the clutch to be real sticky?? the shop manual recommend 10w 30 oil in it and after smelling it i know for sure that is not what came out. i just want some info on what this could be before i go out and buy a new basket... any info would be appreciated, thanks!

    Second oil filter underneath shifter?

Good day all, I am riding a new 2017 kx450f, the first four stroke i have ever owned. I am also new to actually setting up a bike for me (sag, clickers, air pressure in SFF Tac fork, etc.) I have been going through the owners manual, break in process, oil change vids on youtube etc. While on the genuine kawasaki parts site looking up part numbers, I noticed on the oil filter section that there is the regular oil filter on the right hand side of bike, and then another one on the left hand side under the shifter. The second one I have literally never changed, nor have i ever heard anyone ever mention it, or speak about changing it, and its part number is 49065A. http://www.genuinekawasakiparts.com/oemparts/a/kaw/57f5247e87a8660d6c7c9b66/oil-filter Are the engine oil, and tranny sump separated on this bike ie two different oils, one for engine, and one for tranny? Or is this just another filter entirely for the engine oil, and should it be changed frequently? Also, on the fork and shock clicker setting there is a sign that is similar to " S<--->H " for clicker adjustment. Can someone explain the basics of this? Compression=? Rebound=? Thanks!
  4. I've heard a lot of different ideas about using Rotella T 15w40 oil. I just bought a 2008 450 XCR-W and wondering if this is a safe oil to use. I like the price but want to make sure I'm not going to destroy my bike. What are your thoughts on Rotella T???
  5. I just bought an '03 CRF230F and am eager to start riding it and getting used to it. I've ordered the official Honda Service Manual but it won't be here for up to a week. I want to change the engine oil on the bike ASAP though. Can someone tell me what weight oil to use? Thanks, and I'm looking forward to participating in these forums!
  6. Hi all, Recently bought a 2004 crf230f and wondering which oil I should use in it? Was talking to a mx racer and he recommended Shell Rotella as it's inexpensive and great quality. Any thoughts or advice? Does it matter that Rotella is a oil for diesel engines? Also, which one should I use the T,T5 or T6? Thanks in advance
