  1. Hi, I have a 2016 Husqvarna tc85. It has 95.4 hours on it and it was running beautifully. But on my last ride it started playing up, it lost all its top end power and sounded like someone had their hand over the exhaust, but the bottom end power is completely fine. The bike is well looked after and well loved. I race it in enduro and trail ride it, it is stock engine wise. I was thinking the power valve might be stuck? Can anyone please help? Thanks
  2. Hello! I need some help with diagnosing my motorcycle. I have a 2000 XR650L. The previous owner told me that at one point the bike was not given oil changes and the piston was damaged. The piston was bored out making it a "660". From what I understand no problems from there on. However, recently I was cruising at 65 on the highway when my chain suddenly broke. The whip from the chain broke open the air box, ripped off the slider and chain guards, and tore up the back sprocket. So, I installed a new airbox, air filter, new front sprocket, rear sprocket and a new chain. I thought I was back in business and was testing the bike out. Everything was running fine for about ten miles going below 55. When i tried to bring the bike up to higher speeds it totally lost compression at 65 or it just completely bogged down. I pulled over to inspect the bike and everything seemed fine, the bike never shut off. Afterward when I took off it would begin to bog down again at 35mph, especially when i would throttle it quickly. I have tried the bike one other time since then and would notice it skipping or bogging down even at 25, again especially when i try to throttle it quickly, This is my first motorcycle so I am on a steep learning curve and do not have much knowledge to come up with a diagnosis and solutions. If anyone has any ideas and suggestions it would be very much appreciated!! I can wait to get this baby dialed in again! Thank you
  3. Hey, so I just replaced the transmission fluid in my crf150r and was adjusting the airscrew because I heard a slight ticking sound from the engine. Anyway I had been reving it and trying to get it to stop then there was a lot of quick ticking and it died. Now its harder to starts and only stays started for abit and there is a loud ticking\knocking coming from the cylinder and I'm not sure what it is. I would appreciate any help. Thanks
  4. I own a 2016 KTM 85 sx, and ride Enduro and dabble in motocross. The bike normally performs flawlessly, until the last ride. After about 20 hours since having a full engine rebuild, it started having this small bog at high revs, sometimes I could be full throttle and have no problem, but other times I’d be hard on the throttle, and the revs would randomly cut off while on the throttle, after letting off the throttle, the bog would disappear. This used to only happen once every couple rides, but over time it has become more and more frequent, and about half an hour into my last ride I couldn’t go above half throttle withought the bike bogging and the revs cutting off. Anyone know what this might be?? Thanks in advance. -Reeve
  5. So I got this free 2000 Yamaha WR400, the guy said it was in his garage when he moved in and didn't want it. I took it home cleaned it up (carb, tank, oil change, clean filter, new spark plug) and it ran great. I think it has a new top end and hot cams but I haven't opened it up to find out. I was out riding with my cousin and it started acting weird, then died and I couldn't get it to start and thought I had seized it. We got it back to my house and I checked the oil, it showed it was low but it would then try to kick over. I put some Marvel mystery oil in it and let it sit for 8 months. I was curious yesterday if it was any better and it felt like it did when I first got it running, so I added some oil and tried to kick it over again but now its stuck again. It didn't start when I kicked it over before but lots of black stuff came out the exhaust. Now with new oil it won't budge
  6. Het guys, I've got a 2012 kx250f that keeps fuel cutting in high rpms. I'm pretty sure whenever the second fuel injector activates, but not certain. I've also noticed the bike is backfiring and has some throttle response loss and power loss. Bike is also fine when its in neutral (I hit rev limiter for a sec, no fuel cutting), only when its in gear. I have no idea whats wrong with this thing, please help
  7. I’m having issues with my 1999 YZ250. I bought the bike in June and it ran great. As I continue to ride throughout the summer I noticed a loss of power particularly after I raced a two hour hair scramble. With the advice of family and other riders I was told to do a top end and clean the power valve. I have done top ends before but when I was doing this one I heard a snap when I tightened the power valve bolt too much. I was told that I shouldn’t worry about it my friend and to start the bike up to see how it sounds. I started it up and it sounded fine at idle (as far as I could tell). I had little to no time between that Friday and the race that weekend so I regretfully neglected to deglaze/hone the cylinder before replacing it back into the engine. I also waited to do a heat cycle until I was at the track. I putted around in first and then second and eventually third gear but I noticed there was hardly any power as well as more smoke than usual. Then as I rode more I started to feel a knocking in the motor as the piston moved and it got worse the more I revved the engine so I decided not to race and to park the bike for the day before I broke anything. If anyone has some thoughts as to what’s wrong with it please let me know. I’ve attached a video below of what it sounds like at idle I did not want to rev it up as I am not sure if I will break anything else. I also know it’s not a carb issue as I have already rebuilt the carburetor. Here is a link to a video of it running not sure if it will help:
