  4. Hi, I'm seriously thinking about putting a Vortex in my 2017 EXC 350. Has anyone done this yet, and what was your experience? Interested in experience with the 450 and 500 also. I really don't want to get fancy with tuning - just put it in and find a map that I want. I will be removing the two screens in the exhaust outlet, and removing the reeds. Thanks in advance, Toby

    KTM 2-stroke Overheating

    I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. My 2010 KTM 250 XC won't stop peeing coolant out of the overflow tube. I've used 3 different radiator caps (two of the oem 1.8 bar caps and one CV4 2.0 bar) and it still continues to pee coolant as soon as the bike starts up. I just recently bought and installed brand new radiators [GPI on eBay for $88 (the seem fine just the welds are a bit crappy and you can see inside of the tubes where the metal from the welds drooped down but there are no blocks)] and silicone hoses (profactory hoses) thinking they were the problem since the old radiators were bent in like bananas. To my dismay that was apparently not the issue. I've had everything apart and looked at. Has brand new base gaskets, head gaskets, radiators, and radiator hoses. I've bled the radiators like the manual says and there are no bubbles like air leaking into the system or being in the system. The jetting is also perfect. The only thing I haven't changed out is the oem impeller in the water pump but it looks to be in great condition. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem before it gets worse? Also, has anyone else had this problem and figured out how to fix it? I ride it in mostly tight 0-10 mph trails and also some 10-20 mph trails.

  8. Hi Guys Hope this post finds ya all well and in good health ! Well ... as you have noticed already ... I've encountered a strange problem on my 2017 KTM 500 EXC-F Six Days. I've aaaalways liked the "duke" headlights style and as soon as I realized that KTM have this headlight model KTM X2 HID 7811490100028 I instantly went for it knowing it was just plug and play installation. This job I did around last February. Job went perfectly fine, tried and tested all OK and it REALLY shines big time! However, last weekend, while night driving, I noticed that while engaging the clutch, headlight goes off completely. With high beam, problem is even worse, as sometimes it takes around 5 seconds to come back again. I did check all the wiring for some loose contact but nothing. Any ideas what the issue could be ?? If you had to ask me how the installation was... very simple ... remove "old" headlight by disconnecting the connector ... install new headlight by connecting connector ... that's all. Thanks in advance for your help, much appreciated since this issue is kind of driving me crazy now Geoff
