    2016 350 XCF Electrical

    as anyone that rides an xcf knows we are 100% dependent on our batteries. My XCF is street legal with a light kit. But I need to add a fan as the bike is a Pizza Oven in the woods. My question, I have 70W to play with as I upgraded the stator. Can I run my additional loads (lights/fan) off the battery terminals and still expect the battery to keep charge? Or do I need to wire in a separately derived system?
  2. Hello, I have an issue with my 2006 DRZ 400s. This is the first time posting. I have notice that when I am riding my bike at 60 to 75 MPH, I will start to get coolant going into the overflow bottle. In a 3 mile trip at 60 to 65, I will have about 5/8 " of fluid in the overflow bottle. At 40 miles or slower i never get coolant in the bottle. Fan comes on and off. I have checked, Fan works good, T-stat opens when it should, No air pockets in the radiator, did a test on the head gasket at top dead center and its good. Water pump is working good too. check in the radiators and both are clean. Running with the new stock radiator cap with 1.1 bar. The hot light works, but it's never came on. When i let the bike just idle, fan come on and off and i might get a spoon full of fluid in the bottle. I bought this bike used. I do not know if the carburetor as been re-jetted. Please help
  3. I have a 2008 KTM EXC that had an aftermarket radiator fan installed by the previous owner and worked fine up until some heavy trail riding a while back. Im pretty bad with electrical stuff and havnt even owned a bike with an electric start until now. Ive heard having a fan on these is pretty much a necessity so Im trying to get it working. Ive heard I can test if the fan will work by touching two wires together but I dont know which ones. Also how can I check to see if its a fuse or something else? Thanks!
  4. Good Day people of the interwebs I recently ran into a problem on my Husky The radiator fan keeps running flatout even when the bike is off?!?! Basically, I got back home from work, parked my bike in the garage (The fan wasn't running at this stage), went off to do some stuff around the house. Then 3-4 hours later I went back to the garage to lock up my bike and the fan was running full blast. Bike was off obviously, keys not in the ignition. I had to disconnect the battery to get the fan to switch off, and then when I connect the battery again the fan starts up slowly again building up to full speed. Coolant levels are all topped up. Any ideas what could be causing this? Electrical gremlins? From what I've read up on it could be faulty relay? Thanks in advance
  5. Noticed my bike boil over on a recent ride, then noticed my fan wasn't working. I found the little box of 5 fuses under the ECU and one was blown. Replaced it, rode yesterday, and the fan never kicked on, despite some challenging, slow riding. This morning, I checked the fuses again, and sure enough, the fuse was blown. I'm no electrician and know enough about motors to be dangerous (always just ran a 2 stroke before this bike because I could understand them) but I'd like to fix this without having to take it to the Husky shop, pay a bunch of money, and not have my bike to ride. I'm thinking it probably has to be some kind of short in the fan itself, but has anyone experienced this? I'd like to know if there's any other thoughts before dishing out $100 for a new fan. Also, sometimes when riding, the bike would idle high, which I am assuming is because it was running hot. Never boiled over, but do you think it could have been running hot enough to do any kind of damage? I'd think it would boil over before it got to that point, but again, no mechanic here...   6. Thought this mod will be straight forward, but no. Bought a KTM fan for my 450EXC, it come in a nice box, including the fan, wiring, thermalswitch, manual. Trial fit the fan on my right radiator as manual said, looks good: But then I found there are something unlike what it should be... 1. There is no matching available power connector on my bike 2. There is no where on both radiator for the thermalswitch to screw in In the below photo, circle #1 is the power socket from the fan, circle #2 is the connector to the thermalswitch. Manual said: Current wiring harness, no available outlet: Example of one radiator, no nozzle for thermalswitch: Any recommendation pls? Thanks.
  7. Was out riding today with my buddy. We got into some water and a little mud. Nothing to crazy. Looked down and the 701 engine light is on. I hit the kill switch and she started blowing coolant out of the overflow hose. Let her sit a bit start her up and the fans not turning on. Took her apart to inspect fan and even the bolts were hot. I coasted her 3km down a mountain. I filled her back up with water. She took 500ml. Any ideas. Keep in mind she boiled over twice and I never seen heat light or fan turn on. Thanks for any help. She's a 2017 with 1500km on the dial. Bought her brand new.
