  1. Hello, I'd like to take my son (new to riding) on some easy and slow trails. I'm thinking about Osceola. Anyone know which parts of the park are likely to be the dry and without thick sand? Thank you, Keith
  2. Hoping some of you guys can maybe help me out. I'm trying to get the wife into trail riding, but she's still very leery of deep sand (in FL, go figure.) I'm hoping someone here can point me to some trails in Central FL that may be a bit easier for a beginner rider. I'm no pro either, I'm just more comfortable on a bike than the wife is. She rides and controls just fine, but she still has a mental barrier when it comes to sugar sand. I'm hoping to find some trails that will help her build her confidence. We've done Bone Valley to get some practice in, but it's such a small place that's pretty much all deep sugar on the trails. She gets discouraged and bored all at the same time. Are there some places at Croom or Citrus WMA that would be better for practicing/getting up to speed on trail rides? Specific locations would be great if you have em. It's about 1.5-2 hours to Croom from where we live so I just don't want to load it all up and hope for the best, only to find that it's even harder on her than bone valley. Any help would be huge, thanks guys!
  3. Good Morning, My daughter has shown a lot of interest in learning how to ride a dirt bike after her and I attended the Daytona Supercross this year. She has been asking for a dirt bike for the last couple of months, so while she is out of town visiting her grandparents I picked up a 07 KLX110 for her and a 05 YZ250 for me, so we can ride together. I know of most of the local tracks to me WW Ranch, North Florida MX park but being that she will be riding a KLX (not the most MX friendly bike). Does anyone know of any trails or have any land that I could teach the basics on? I grew up racing and am sure we will visit a track or two, butI am not sure if she will want to do MX or just trail riding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Justin
  4. DAYTONA BEACH, FL – November 2, 2020 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – Tickets for the 51st DAYTONA Supercross, featuring one of the longest and most grueling courses on the circuit, designed by five-time DAYTONA Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael, are available now. The event that features high-flying excitement and side-by-side intensity is set for Saturday, March 6, 2021, a part of the 80th annual Bike Week At DAYTONA, March 5-14. Daytona International Speedway has made a limited number of “Early Access Pre-Sale” DAYTONA Supercross tickets available for the iconic race that includes General Admission, Reserved Seating as well as The Roost, which provides incredible course-side bleacher seating. The event is held in the tri-oval of the World Center of Racing. Tickets start as low as $45 while kids 6 to 12 are just $15, and those 5 and under are FREE in General Admission. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-PITSHOP or visiting www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com. Featuring marquee names prepared to bang bars at the gate drop, the DAYTONA Supercross is an electric event, featuring a unique layout and three types of dirt, including the signature beach sand section that tests the skill and physical endurance of every rider. From the world-class pyrotechnics and dazzling lights show of rider introductions to the post-race champion celebration, it’s an atmosphere like nowhere else. A year ago for the historic 50th DAYTONA Supercross, Eli Tomac rode the No. 3 Kawasaki to victory to become only the fourth rider to win the prestigious Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship event four times. He joined Jeff Stanton and Ryan Villopoto as four-time champions and looks to tie Carmichael with a fifth win in 2021 – the most victories in event history. Garrett Marchbanks won the 250SX Main Event, also aboard a Kawasaki, and joined Tomac on the podium to celebrate the manufacturer’s sweep of the prestigious event. In addition to DAYTONA Supercross opportunities, tickets are also available for the Speedway’s January and February motorsports events, that include multi-day tickets for the 59th Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the season-opening event (Jan. 30-31) to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, as well as the 63rd DAYTONA 500 (Feb. 14) and all events part of DAYTONA Speedweeks Presented By AdventHealth. Fans can stay up to speed on the latest news by using #DAYTONASX and #BikeWeek and can stay connected with Daytona International Speedway on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and by downloading Daytona International Speedway’s mobile app, for the latest Speedway news throughout the season.
  5. Hi All. We were really looking forward to a trip to Durhamtown this Febuary but this weather is a bitch... Now we're thinking about just going all the way south to Flordia. Can anyone recommend some of the better places to hit in Flordia? Mostly into trail riding but a few intermidate MX tracks would be cool too. Already thinking of FL Tracks and Trails and possibly Crooms, but hoping someone with experince down there can put us in the best places. TIA really appreciate it! -john
  6. Long time member here that just started racing a 13 rmz 450. Here's a link to one of my gopros so you can see what kind of racing I'm doing. Go to my channel for more. Anyway I just got this Rmz which seems all stock except a yoshimura full pipe. During yesterday's event it started "pinging" really bad under a load and overheated at the finish of the race. This was the first time I've ran regular gas and not non-ethanol so I'd like to blame it on that, but I'm thinking it also may be lean because of the pipe. How do I make it run richer?
  7. Does anyone have any opinions or advice on where to ride in the Flagler Estates area?

  9. Hi all, I'm a new member, and recently got back on a bike after after taking a few years off.. Can someone recommend where I can find some trail riding near the Sanford area.
  10. Years ago 3 rail galvanized trailers were plentiful and I could easily find one when I needed one, but I'm having a hard time finding another used one this time. Anyone know where I might find a used 3 rail galvanized trailer for sale in the (west) central FL area? If so please PM me! Thanks
  11. I rode trails 45 years ago, so when my grown daughter said she was getting a dirt bike I thought it would be cool to ride with her. So in January I made an impulse buy and got a KLX300R. We've ridden a couple of times near her place in Tallahassee. But I can't find any trails here close to Gainesville, so the bike sits in storage. Nothing I'm aware of is closer than 35 minutes away. Waldo MX park about 35 minutes North but only track, not trails (been there once) Hard Rock in Ocala about an hour South, MX track and one HS course (been there once) Ocala National Forest hour and a quarter South, motorcycles permitted for selected trails only Croom closer to 2 hours South Apalachicola National Forest close to 2 hours North , motorcycles permitted for selected trails only So I was hoping somebody in the area knows of trails or single track closer to town. My bike is off road only and cannot be plated so I have to load it up and haul wherever I go, plus I'm hauling it with my wife's vehicle so she will be without while I'm away riding alone. So far I only have 5 hours in the saddle so while MX looks exciting, I'm not ready to take up that challenge yet. (Besides, my beast is 287 lbs and may not fly well.) Looking for Woods, pasture land, private track, almost anything in the Gainesville area would be of interest just to get some more seat time. Thanks for any tips you can provide.
  12. Wanted to buy a dirt bike. Bought a trailer, no bike yet. Trail riding mostly. Too old for Motocross. I live in Ft. Lauderdale. Only decent riding seems to Florida Track and Trails. Which is 2.5 hours away. Not sure if it's worth it to buy a bike.
  13. pulled the holeshot, checked out, cased the triple, bounced up, throttle hung wide open on the landing and i just couldn't hold on, piston skirt wound up snapping into a million pieces.

  15. Looking for some suggestions on where to ride in Florida (central). We have done Croom, but am hoping to find something with less of the thick sand and woops. We ride dirt bikes but not big on mx. Looking for single track or woods riding. Thanks in advance Q
  16. Well, the new FTR season starts this weekend (September 14-15) with a Hare Scramble near Daytona. See link for that event here: http://www.floridatrailriders.org/uploads/flyer/20_season/DDR-HS-flyer-sept-2019.pdf FTR Homepage: http://www.floridatrailriders.org/ FTR 2019-2020 Full event Schedule (HS and Enduro): http://www.floridatrailriders.org/event-schedule.php
  17. Anyone in/near Tampa area? My son is stationed at McDill AFB and since he's limited on tools and help and really doesn't know anyone there who rides yet. He's need some riding friends and some help getting his new bike in order. Not much I can do 1300 miles away right now but just reaching out to get him some help and someone to ride with.
  18. So I've never been to Florida ,how is the single track riding at Ocala? thoughts on Croom ? tried messaging Bryan Bosch, but no response any info much appreciated
  19. Looking to make some new riding friends around the Central FL areas; Clermont, Winter Garden, Orlando, etc. Been a rider for 6+ years and just got a new '18 DRZ400SM after being without a bike for a couple years and would love to have some folks to ride around with and explore new areas!
  20. Well for anyone that was following along about the topic of moving to NC, well that has changed lol. My wife and I are leaving here June 30th and going to Florida. Our family is down there and are going to help us get settled. They live on Fernandina Beach / Amelia Island. We will be renting a house for a couple years within the general area, but we are staying away from Jacksonville. If anybody would be so helpful to point us in the direction of some nice areas to live in that general vicinity, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Also, when I get down there, I will be enrolling in a Class A cdl school, called Roadmasters. I have my B. Maybe some info about some good companies to work for would also be very beneficial please. Thanks everyone.
  21. Hey guys, I'm Moving from New Jersey to Florida soon. I will be living in Kissimmee Florida. I raced the ECEA enduro series up here and I am interested in getting to a series in Florida. I dont know of any spots to ride, I also wont have any buddies. If anyone is interested in linking up or telling me of any good places to ride please let me know. Thanks!
  22. So, the trails closest to me (Withlacoochee national forest/Richloam) are overall, flooded. There is a water crossing every 50 yards for the most part. That said, how's Ocala this time of year? Any better? I don't mind a few water crossings, but not every 50 yards. Looking for dryer ground! My buddy John drowning his KLR in the last couple of weeks...
  23. Hey guys, I am a new rider located in Lake Wales, Florida. I am just getting started in this hobby, finally. The issue I have is that i am completely short on people to ride with. I want to do it all, trails, tracks, and races. Short of buying my girlfriend a 400ex to tag along with me on my KX250, i have no other options. I would like to join or start a group local to central Polk county to start riding together. If anyone is in the area and may be interested, give this thread a reply and we can organize something. I am not flakey as most young people seem to be. I just need some friends in the hobby.
  24. So recently got my first bike in a few decades, a 2000 'zuke DRZ-400S. I've been going through it addressing various issues, and am at the point now that I need to take a few things to a shop (or shops) to take care of. Specifically I've got a cylinder head in need of a refresh (new seats, valves, etc), as well as two sets of spoked wheels I'd like to get tubes/tires mounted on, trued up, balanced etc. I can remove the heads/wheels from the bike to take them in. My go-to shop for cylidner head work only does automotive & marine stuff, no moto/powersports, and while I've gotten some recommendations here and on other forums for good shops to mail my head to, I'd rather send my business somewhere local if possible, and I imagine there's gotta be place around here capable of doing a good job. Any recommendations are appreciated, thanks!
  25. Does anybody ride at Waldo MX? I was thinking about heading over there Saturday since I’ll be in the area this weekend but I didn’t know what type of dirt it is. I have a sand tire on right now that I really don’t wanna take off with a sand race coming up in a couple weeks. If anyone could let me know if it’ll be fine to run the sand tire or not at Waldo I’d appreciate it
