  1. I have had this bike for about a month now and I was wondering if there was any free mods anyone would recommend
  2. I got my JD jetkit today. I still don't have the 600 mile break in done yet, but since The Doctor Z has a fresh front flat tire, I decided to do the carb while I wait for the Tubliss to get here. After I finished the carb, I decided to mod the exhaust. Since I'm not willing to spend a bunch on a slipon, I did the best and "cheapest" option. I pulled off the end cap so I could get rid of that ridiculously tiny outlet. My 2006 LTR450 was easy! All it needed was a set screw to remove the outlet. But Doctor Z's was tougher but still doable. All it took was a drill, some needle nose plyers, a small hacksaw, and a screwdriver. There are two pieces that are spot welded inside the end cap. The outermost ring is the spark arrestor. I left it in the end cap. The tiny outlet has three spot welds holding it to the spark arrestor. I drilled a bunch of holes around the groove between the outlet and the spark arrestor. Then I used the hacksaw to cut through the center of the outlet until it reached the portion of the spark arrestor's ring that's welded to the end cap. Then I used my screwdriver and busted through the holes I drilled. This helped me to pry the outlet away from the ring. It took some hammering with a fairly sharp screwdriver blade to separate the two rings apart but with a little persistence it finally came out. I filed down the spot welds that were still in the end cap and it looks really clean. Almost factory! I still have a legal muffler since it still has the spark arrestor in the end cap, but it's completely uncorked now! I can already tell how crisp the throttle response is after the jet kit and muffler mod... Now I can't wait to get back on the road with my Tubliss system.
  3. Hey guys first post. Today I acquired a free 2005 YZ85 with a blown motor. The motor itself has been bored out to what the guy claimed was 103cc, but the cylinder is cracked at the exhaust port and the piston looks pretty messed up. There’s play in the piston too so I’m pretty sure the crank bearings are shot but it does still turn over freely. It came with everything and appears to have various aftermarket parts such as a full FMF exhaust. Just curious what you guys think the best course of action would be, rebuild the current engine, try to find a used engine or just part out the bike. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
