  1. I just bought a 2003 kx250 a few weeks ago. The guy I bought it from said he dropped the bike on it's side, and after that, the front brakes would "act up," but after feeling them, I figured they would just need bled and would be fine. After getting the bike home, I bled the brakes and realized that they weren't just mushy, but they would only grab on for a second before losing pressure, even while holding the lever all the way down. Sometimes they grab a lot harder for a lot longer, but they mostly just squeeze for a quick second. Also, when attempting to bleed the brakes for the third time, I realized that every time I pulled the brake lever, bubbles would rise from the bottom of the reservoir, which I was thinking maybe meant the master cylinder was damaged causing it to pump air into the brake line, but I don't know. I don't really want to take my bike to a shop or to buy a whole new front brake setup, so any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks! (Edit: I've never dealt with dirt bike brakes, so this is all new to me)
  2. Hello everyone! 👍 I would like some help regarding which Supermoto-style front fenders fits a 2017 KTM 500 EXC-F Six Days. There's 2 screw holes in the back off my current off-road fender that mounts in the back of the lower clamp. A friend suggested a 690 SMC-R or Husky FS300-570 but I'm not sure since I've only seen pictures. (OEM partnumber: 7730821000028)
  3. Which would be easier...removing the front wheel? Or removing the caliper? I would think removing the caliper would be easier, but I'm being told to remove the front wheel.
  4. Folks, I'm trying to determine why my front forks start undulating forward and backward when I'm in upper gears over 40 mph. Not sure if it's the forks or if the wheel is imbalanced. Forgive any ignorance, it's only my second bike 2012 Husaberg TE 250 and I haven't experienced this before. Thx
  5. Hello, I feel like I have read all the tips and tricks on the spongey/springy KTM front brake. I've got an 05 250 EXC and last summer I lost my rear brake during a ride, so I decided to do some maintenance this winter on both front and rear. Rear brake went smooth, new pads, rebuild kit on mc and caliper, fresh fluid, new lever bearings. Rear brakes now work great, but the front brakes are spongey/springy. I've tried just about everything from zip-tie to tapping on the caliper when bleeding, back bleeding with a syringe and traditional bleeding. What I am noticing now is, my lever gradually gets firm as it is pulled in but can still pull to the bar and never gets solid (the adjustment is all the way in so there is no free play), what I am seeing and hearing is the caliper kind of creak and flex. Note that this is just in the shop, not during movement. I've never had issues with bleeding brakes and I am 90% sure there is no air in the system. I'm about to the point of getting on ebay and getting a Nissin MC. Any suggestions on what to try before I try a Nissin? I'm not sure how I still have hair! Thanks!
  6. Hello, I have a 1989 XR250R that I am going to convert to a dual sport. I ordered the Tusk lighting kit and the drum brake switch. However, I do not know how to install the front brake light switch. What part would I need and how would I install? Sorry I am a noob. Thanks
  7. (At this point my front brake is strong, could do endos) So my front tire pops, I take the wheel off. Take it to a shop, they fix it, I bring it back, put it on the bike, disc slides in without issues, but now my front brake is so weak, and it comes to the handle bar quite easily. So I try to bleed them out, but can’t get them any better than what they were already at when I put the wheel back on. But they were perfect before? So why? It can’t be my pads, this is pissing me off. 06 rmz450
  8. I wanted to ride out this morning with my friend on this 2006 KX250F I bought a couple days ago but it needs a new sprocket. The nut holding the sprocket on has 20 teeth! I have been looking for hours for information on this and I even read the owners manual. I can’t believe there isn’t any information on this.. I looked up “all different types of wrenches” “all types of nuts” but I can’t find anything on how to take off this dumb nut!
  9. Hi Folks! I apologise in advance if this has been answered elsewhere on the forum. I did try searching for an answer here, but failed to come up with what I was looking for. I am looking for a front rack for my 2017 CRF250L. My intention is to use it to carry extra fuel, between 2-5L, so not too great a weight. I gazed with interest at Steph Jeavons' front rack and begun my enquiries from there. From what I understand from reading these forums, the rack that she has fitted to her CRF is part of a windscreen bracket. I do not require the windscreen (yet), but a front rack would be enormously useful. Any ideas of places where one that could be ordered would be most appreciated, U.K. preferred, but if necessary, I do not object to importing from the U.S.A.. Thank you in advance. Jamie
  10. Time to upgrade the front tire on my YZ 125. I ride almost exclusively on singletrack trails at Foresthill, Georgetown, Cow Mountain, and the Sierra Nevada etc. Anyone have recommendations for a good enduro front tire? I'd prefer to spend less than $100 on this tire. Pretty new to dirtbike tires, so feel free to school me. I replaced my rear with a Motoz Mountain Hybrid, but think I'm gonna spring for a Shinko 505 Cheater next. Thanks!
  11. Hey everyone! So, I've recently picked up this Motard wheelset for my Suzuki DRZ400e. To my understanding, because of the spacers that came with the front wheel, I don't get to use the stock speedo. That's okay with me (will show in photos everything I mention below) as I'll be getting a new speedo along the line. The seller has a little magnet speed tracker on the break disk, and I can also go pickup the display that came with that. With the speedo out the way, Issues I'm facing now are really just one, the brake disk rubbing through the pads, causing it to be extremely stiff. I'm wondering if I just wear the pads down, or if I can actually figure a way to loosen them. So, the stock 21 break disk was 1.5mil thick, the SM is 2mil. Any tips or pointers much appreciated! Will include photos of the bike that they were on before my purchase. Alrighty, Henry
