Hello everyone i just wanted to share my experience and new found love for Beta Motorcycles. I chose Beta through a demo ride. I know it sounds corny, but I went to prove that the KtM 150 was better. Boy was I wrong. It was love at first ride. I was blown away by the riding experience and customer service. I ended up going with the BYOB offering due to the discounts and being a stickler for customization. I pre ordered with the Steve Holcomb replica graphics and seat cover, TM designs full skid plate, beta shark fin disk guard, and ARC folding levers. I purchased my 200rr through GDM Motorsports in Murfreesboro TN. They were amazing to work with, if anyone is interested. I only have about an hr on the bike, just trying to break it in. I can tell already, what a perfect choice I have made. I’m coming off a 2010 CRF250r that I spent way too much money converting to a woods bike, lol. What a night and day difference between these two bikes I have an 18” tublis for the rear that I’ll install this week. I also put my old flex bars on with some new G2 Ergonimics Prius hand guards. I wanted to try a flag style hand guard to help keep weight down. We’ll see how long they last if I break my fingers hitting a tree. Lol. I’m having a slight issue with the brake line coming off the master cylinder hitting the flex bar bolt. With all of the electrical components attached to the bars, it doesn’t leave much real estate. Anyway, something I’m working on correcting I hope you enjoy this pics and tabling above. Lol.

The BETA's stock throttle tube uses a progressive cable cam to provide a smooth off idle (through half throttle) throttle transition. For some of us, the combination of the throttle 'lag' and the power lag, are too much. Changing to the quick turn throttle is very easy to do, if you pick the correct parts. Depending on where you go on G2's website, you may think that they do not offer this option for the bikes after 2015. But they do, it's just harder to find. Installing is a literal swap-out, with no mods, no confusion. The photos show the correct model numbers you will need. The throttle tube, housing, and internal parts must all be changed. On their website they state the new throttle tube's rotational distance as 'stock, less 10% due to it's larger size'....but they don't mention the removal of the progressive camming as well. Essentially, you are getting a throttle turn that is now a straight pull / linear turn, with no progressive camming, with a 10% reduction in rotational distance. It feels like a 50% reduction! This is G2 cam size 100. They also have 50 and 25 sizes available, which are 13% and 17% reductions, respectively. The test ride is this Sunday..... .

Yeah. Yeah... I can hear it coming.. "You should have got a 250". But honestly, such a prime condition scooter at such a deal couldn't be passed up. Plus I honestly believe this will be a collectors bike one day. So you can congratulate or scold. I'll gladly accept either. I enjoy riding it and it's very trusting to handle, but having not ridden/raced in yrs (81 KX-420). Albeit, each time we go out we get to know each other a little better, I'd like to tame it a little bit until I get my riding legs back. Thought about a #17 flywheel install but would rather not go that $$$ committed because I know I'll want it reverted back by mid next season... But I'm still on the fence. So I know the G2 Throttle Tamer was designed more for the later EFI bikes, I'd be interested if anyone else has installed one on this model and what you think. Moreover, if you did install a flywheel in this model, what did you put in and what do you think. cheers, Whop -
anyone running the g2 throttle tamer on their 4t bikes? Just picked one up today. I have installed them in the past on both my KTM and my Hsq 501. But with the beta there seems to be too much side to side play between the throttle and throttle housing, allowing the cable to move in and out of the grooves. I can hear my cable grinding as I rotate the throttle. Any clues? Wondering if g2 was just getting to market quick, since our throttles are basically a KTM 50/65 2t cable, and just put Beta on the sticker.
