    New Bike! KTM 350 XC-F

    I did it. Finally quit beating around the bush and decided to go for it. Now the proud owner of a bran-USED 2014 KTM 350 XC-F. Bought it today, only had the chance to ride it down the road and back and I think I’m in for a treat. Previously had a 250 XC that I bought used November of 2016. Kept buying parts and constantly working on it to get it where I want it, but with out any luck so I decided to go back on the four stroke route. Anyone have any recommendations for aftermarket on it? It already has a lot including a skid plate, boyesen super cooler water pump, hand guards, rear brake rotor guard, radiator braces, mouse bibs in the tires, brand new Dunlop MX 3 S tires, radiator fan, shorai lithium battery, side grab bar, and ktm silicone hoses.

    KTM 350 XC-F Oil

    Hi guys, probably a stupid question here, but I figure you can never be too safe. I have some Motorex 15w-50 from my 2010 KTM 250 XC (which I sold) and I was wondering if it would be okay to run in my 2014 KTM 350 XC-F which calls for Motorex 10w-50? What would be the side effects of running a 15w-50 instead of a 10w-50? Also, if you have any suggestions of good oil to run, please feel free to recommend it and give your reasons why. Thanks guys.   3. Hey guys! Second post on this really helpful forum. I'll post my height, weight, etc below for you to have more info. Height: 6 feet 4 or 1.94 meters Weight: 210 pounds Age: 18 Experience: Not much. Just a bit when I was 8 and road driving now since I have a scooter to move around. Location to ride: Mainly woods + adventuring? (Exploring basically). Would like an enduro bike to avoid having to buy a car for transport and just experiencing the bike at all times. Bike type: 250cc 4 strokes. Open to other things but this seems the best to start. I have tried to narrow down my research but I keep finding new models. Ktm is obviously good but since my budget is ~2k$, I can't get many new ktm's. Maybe there are some good other choices? Maybe even a 2003/4 ktm is good? Some Yamaha/honda/gas gas? Whatever. If you have any tips please post them below since I want to start riding soon! Also suggest the bike years to avoid (like: ktm exc 250 2004 and up) Thank you!
  4. So I picked up a pretty beat up 2013 gas gas txt 300 raga replica on Craigslist. It had a lot broken on it but ran, although very rich. It has a Keihin carb. I confused the idle screw and the air fuel screw, and turned the idle screw a few times counter clockwise to try and lean it up. I realized the error, but lost track of how many times I turned the idle screw when I tried to put it back where it was. The air fuel mix was at half turn, so I turned it to 1.5 out which is the default, but the idle is still hanging really high and the idle screw doesn’t seem to have much effect. I don’t really know what to do, is there a default idle rpm or position for the idle adjust? Could something have gotten stuck when I turned the idle adjust? Any help would be great!
  5. Viewers have been asking for a Gas Gas review for two years... and we finally get to throw a leg over the Spanish stallions! The 2018 Gas Gas 300XC and 300EC are excellent additions to the two stroke stables. As usual this is just our take on the new 2018 Gas Gas models from the average rider perspective. We never got to ride the earlier models which many say were heavy, underpowered, and poorly suspended. But the Gas Gas 300EC and 300XC are both extremely capable bikes in our humble opinion.
  6. Hi All, well after 2 years of saving and 6 months looking I finally found a trials bike in my budget and snagged it before everyone else . There is a local club in my home town and one about an hour away and club members properties to ride on so no excuses now :-) Bike is a 2007 ( owner thought it was a 2008 ) Gas Gas 280 TXT Pro , first time i every rode a trials bike was 2 days ago around the previous owners yard. I have want to try trials for about 15 years now but never really went out and did it ( hell I only bought my first trail bike 5 years ago ). Anyway this will be my thread to post vids and pictures up so you can all laugh at my expense and see if I can actually learn to ride this thing .
  7. My wife has had a year of riding now on her KLX140L and has become a good rider. The only problem is she's watched too many Graham Jarvis videos and wants a Gas Gas contact or a Beta Evo Sport. She's leaning heavy towards the Gas Gas with electric start. She's 5'3 so full size enduro bikes are out. Been there and done that, it didn't work. We ride single track and mostly slower technical stuff. She isn't a fast rider already so going slower would be hard to imagine. Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!

  13. got to love an honest dealer. after reviewing the 2018 gas gas models in the vid above, jody from euro enduro wanted to make this vid about small niggling issues for owners to fix... and he's a mechanic so seems to know what he's talking about. great bikes with only a few small known issues like all brands, let's hope they bring the price of certain austrian bikes down over the next few years.

Just recently picked up a brand new 2017 KX450F from Paulson's (they were trying to get rid of all of their 2017's so they could make room for the 2019's) and my pops and I are looking for new places to ride other than Belfair/Tahuya. NOTHING wrong with Belfair but we are just looking for something different! So my pops and I used to do the Desert 100 all the time when it was in Mattawa (near Vantage, WA). Then they changed locations to Odessa, WA and it wasn't the same. We were told that they were doing some sort of testing in Mattawa and that's why the location changed but I've been seeing YouTube vids of people riding there as recent as last year. My questions are: Do you need a park pass or anything to go ride over there? One video looks like they parked at the old parking lot/staging area for the Desert 100. Is that were most people still park? If anyone can give me some info, that'd be awesome and much appreciated! Also, figured I'd ask in the same post about riding over in Cle Elum/Roslyn area. I grew up camping over there and riding near the coal piles. I guess the locals complained about the coal dust settling in the town and riding was shut down. Me or my dad haven't been riding over there in probably 20 years. Anyone have any details on riding over there as well? Need any park passes? Where to park and go. My dad knows that area like the back of his hand so I'd love to take him bake there! I haven't rode over there since I was on a KX60. I'm new to this site so I appreciate any info and am excited about being apart of this forum! Braaaaaaaap! Just because - I'll post a pic of the new bike! Just put on a FMF F4.1 Slip-on this week.

    2 Stroke Top End Problem

    Hey guys I was wondering if any of you could help me out. I’ve got a 2010 KTM 250 XC that just doesn’t rip like a normal two stroke should. When I get up to the top end power it just signs off really early, causing me to shift really early. I can’t figure out why it’s doing that for the life of me. My jetting is spot on for th altitude I ride, the spark plug is a perfect brown coffee color, (170 main, 40 pilot, Suzuki NECJ Needle on 3rd clip) so it can’t be that. (I went with the Suzuki needle because I read on here that it could give it more top end, it did but not the amount it should have) and it I just put on new reed petals for the V-Force 4 reed system, new FMF Fatty and FMF Turbinecore 2 pipes, stock gearing (13:50), yellow power valve spring (red spring doesn’t help either) aggressive engine map, and it still signs off early on top. I bought the bike used, and the previous owner had it choked up so it acted more like a four stroke. The only thing I haven’t looked at is if it has a fly wheel weight, but that wouldn’t necessarily make it act less wild like a two-stroke, would it? I need some suggestions and I would greatly appreciate the help!

  19. Hey guys, I was hoping some of you could help me out. Recently my bike (2010 KTM 250 XC) started overheating a lot. As soon as it got up to temperature it would start peeing coolant out of the overflow tube. I changed out the stock 1.8 radiator cap for a CV4 2.0 radiator cap. Still continued to pee it out. I went through and checked the head and cylinder to see if they were warped. They are not and I also changed the base gaskets and head gaskets. Still continued to pee out. I bought and swapped out new over-sized radiators, new silicone hoses, and a new billet aluminum water pump impeller. Flushed the system and filled it with Engine Ice antifreeze at about 1/4" above the fins. It still continues to pee out. I've heard different things about how the reeds could be causing it and also my jetting could. My jetting is set up perfectly for my weather and where I ride, and my reeds looked fine on inspection. The only thing I have not checked is my clutch pack. It has some chatter and when the bike is cold it shifts pretty hardly into first gear on the first initial take off. In fact it shifts so hard it lurches forward and wants to die and I have to give it a little throttle or it will. (Also, if the bike is in gear on the trail and I pull in the clutch and try to hit the e-start the clutch doesn't engage until I give it a little throttle). I run what the manual recommends for oil (Motorex 15w-50) and at the right amount. I also changed it about 2 hours ago. Since that is the only part of this bike I haven't really looked at I was just wondering since all of that other stuff didn't seem to work, could my clutch be causing the overheating issue?

    Trials Crosstraining

    There isn't many forums talking about trials, and how it is related to offroad riding so I decided to start this thread. When it comes to offroad riding a trials bike (IMO) is pivotal to advancing your skills past the average level and yet there isn't a lot of media expressing this. If you look at the top world riders you'll find over and over that they come from a trials background. I've ridden trials for over 3 years and have seen every bit of the skills transfer over, and most noticeably when I ride trials the day before enduro. Probably the most important skill I've honed is balance. You can spend 30 minutes at the end of your work day riding in your yard, or driveway just to get some training in. I can't even count the amount of times I got on to ride for a short bit, then notice an hours gone flying by! Since then I've noticed the trials riding consistently prepares me mentally for bigger hits on my enduro bike; straight rock faces, gnarly drop ins, mossy stream/rock gardens, all stuff that people consider hard enduro. On top of all that, the trials bike allows me to scope out new areas to make trails in remote spots that some people won't even hike, let alone take a full size bike through. And who doesn't like brand new single track??!

    KTM Stator

    Hey guys I was wondering if you could tell me if this stator looks okay and is right. It’s off a 2010 KTM 250 XC. I just pulled it off the other day to grease up the e-starting gears, and I don’t know much about the ignition system so could someone tells me if this stator is supposed to look like this? I’ve since cleaned up all the black crude. Thanks
  24. Happy Monday all, I bought a non operational 05 gasgas ec300, being a euro motorcycle fan boy I loved the idea of the gasgas. I got the thing running with some parts that came from Spain which took 5 months and a few from ebay which I was gouged on, rode the bike a few hours, and having issues with the carby carb, no big deal I will just throw a lectron on the bad boy...enter to hot to ride season, bike is in bits now and I'm excited to overhaul ground up but the only issue I have is, I can not find a shop manual in English.
