Hi fellow riders! Just thought I'd give you my take on the new Go Pro Hero 9 Black. Absolute belter of an action cam! Quality is absolute superb. I have uploaded a video to YouTube in 4K definition as a test so please feel free to check it out - I ran this text on go pros flat colour and then attempted to colour correct it on my computer! I stuck the GoPro on my 11 year old's helmet on our last group ride. We got some fun footage and I put together a little highlight video: -
I have a problem. Every video I upload winds up a bit stuttery and choppy. You notice it especially when I'm riding at speed. I'm using a gopro session 5 camera set to 1080p, 60fps, superview, stabilization off, and exporting the videos using the following settings: Video settings: Format: H.264 Resolution: 1920 x 1080 FPS: 60 Bit rate: 15000kbps Sound settings: Format: AAC Channels: 6 44100 128 kbs Here's an example:

i looked through the archives and the newest info was 2012. (that i could find) im new to the helmet cams. what is the most durable and best stabilized. i dont want seizures trying to watch a video.

Traveled down to Central Oregon, Bend area earlier this July to ride some of my favorite singletrack in the whole world. Check out the dusty action filmed with new DJ Spark drone using Active Track, Tripod, and Dronie features. Pretty stoked on the capabilities and video quality of this new little drone. -
So the wife bought me a GoPro session 5 for my B-Day...pretty impressed so far. It's my first camera so I don't have anything to compare it to though. It's a small cube and I fit it under the visor and I like the viewpoint. I might need to tilt it a little higher though? I did this vid testing the image stabilization on and then off doing the same run. Even though the camera can shoot 4k...I did these two tests at 1080p 60fps with the "Linear" setting for angle. I had to kick the bit rate down for the Youtube upload, but the videos are crisp and smooth in raw mp4 form. Hey guys, Recently got a Gopro hero 7 and the only mounts it came with for my helmet were the adhesives to stick to the helmet, which don’t work at all and fell off my helmet after 2 minutes. I bought a chest mount in the mean time, but i’d prefer to be able to mount the gopro to my helmet. How do you guys mount your gopros and get it to stay secure on your helmet and not fall off?

All, I am sure this has been covered before but the thread I have seen did not address my exact situation. I ride a KX250 2 stroke and I am looking for a good action cam to capture some riding vids. Problem is I am not a huge fan of helmet mounting because the high up perspective makes the well known phenomena of hills and other obstacles looking less bad than they are in person even worse and there is the issue of weight on the helmet and the possibility of breaking the mount off during a crash (I ride pretty hard and am not above trying a few hill climbs that are only BARELY a "maybe"). So with my mounting choices limited to somewhere on the bike I have run into a problem... Both my phone (in a mount I 3D printed) and a cheapy Wal-Mart gopro knock off resulted absolutely TERRIBLE video.. The 2 stroke vibration made the video almost unwatchable. On the knock-off gopro it was simply shaky but on the 2 separate phones both with built in optical image stabilization and some of the best cameras on the market (Galaxy S8 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL) the video got some weird effects... Looked like the image was printed on a poster and poster was set on a surface with many curves (sorry its sort of hard to describe... I assume it was some sort of interaction between the bike's vibration and the image stabilization system). So with that said: Any action cams that will work for me? Cheaper is obviously better but I am not above spending $400 on a nice GoPro... Just want to know its gonna work and I won't be stuck with a $400 camera that does the same thing my phones did (the gopro also uses optical image stabilization after all). Anyone 2 stroke riders here using an action cam mounted ON the bike itself with good results? What are you using? Thanks.
