  1. Hey guys, Almost finished a 93 CR250 except I can't figure out why it is so hard to start cold. After warming, no problem, but I have been having to use a small amount of starting fluid to get it going. I know not to do that, but if I didn't, I would have to just sit and look at it because it won't go anywhere. Here are some of what i have done. 1.) Cleaned carb completely 2.) Main jet down one size 3.) air screw adjusted while idling 4.) don't have to use the choke but for a second after starting 5.) There are no air leaks I can find 6.) bike runs out crisp in all throttle positions 7.) new piston, crank, cylinder, head The bike has been totally gone through. I have just ran into a snag I can't figure out. And before i get cracked on about my decals, just know i couldn't find any 93 graphics anywhere, and once I got started, I couldn't stop for some reason. Thanks for any help

    RMZ250 seems over compressed???

    I have a 2013 rmz250 that had been running like a dream until it hit 30 hours on a new rebuild done by a shop and paid for by previous owner. I bought this bike with 19 hours on it and loved every second spent on it until it started to act like it was running out of fuel when it got hot. I got it most of the way back to my barn and had to push it the rest. It would start just fine, run for about 3-4 seconds then quit. 3-4 times. I let it sit overnight and the next day I tried it again and the kick-start lever won't even move even with 220 pounds on it. I took out the spark plug to investigate and decided to try to kick it over a few times. After 2-3 kicks it took almost no effort like it should have and I thought it would most likely be fine so I put the spark plug back in, hooked everything back up, and it started up just fine but would still die after 3-4 seconds, and now I'm right back where I started and the lever wont even move. Any ideas on what this could be?

    2013 XR650L questions

    I've always been a large man, 6'4" 275 lbs and im looking into getting a decent bike for hard enduro. I understand that light is better however I have a chance to pick up a 2013 honda xr650l for only 3k$ and was wondering if it would be an ok bike for this type of riding. We also have roughly 150+ miles of goverment maintained trails where I live and would like to take it out on those to (id probably ride it to work on overly nice days). Is this a decent bike for hard enduro at my size? Would I need to purchase a new suspension or can I tune the current one? Is this bike even worth the 3k$ he's asking? (I constantly see the same bike from 2002-2008 run at this price where I live) What are good cheap mods to do to it if I do get it? (Already has the carb mod/welded subframe/egr removed) What should I look out for when buying? What is the rebuild mileage? He has roughly 9k on it, I dont make great $ and im paying for school at the same time so I'm looking for very low maintenance (besides oil/filter swaps every few rides)

    Xr650r petcock hard starting when left on

    Hey all! I've got a 2002 xr650r with the fcr41 carb. The bike fires up first kick every time (hot or cold) when I tdc kick it with the petcock OFF. If I leave the petcock on when the bike is off, I can't start it unless I decompress and kick through for about 5 minutes. It feels flooded. I've rebuilt the carb with the kit from SUDCO. They said they think it's probably the float. I put a new float in and same issue. There is no gas leakage out the carb drains when kicking though if I leave the petcock on. With the tank off, the petcock doesn't leak. So it's sealing. Anyone have the same setup with these issues?
  5. My DRZ has been very slowly becoming harder and harder to shift into neutral. Sometimes it just won't. I shift all the way down to first, and try to half upshift into neutral, and it's like i'm pulling my foot up on a solid object. I just cannot get it to upshift no matter what. When i'm rolling it seems to shift easy, but stopped is a NO GO. I just did a fresh oil change today. (Somebody said an oil change fixed his no-go neutral bike). Can somebody please help me out here? Give me some ideas maybe from 'Probable the issue' to 'could possibly be'. And i'll go down the list and try to get this solved. Thanks in advance peeps.
