  1. Okay so I just upgraded my taillight to an Edge 2 with the 120clock labs processor board for signals and I've been rocking an upgraded led hi/low bulb in my stock housing for a couple years now and I'd like to upgrade. I searched on here and found 50 different options all with varying success. I was thinking that we might be able to compile all of the options and accessories needed for install all in to one place. Maybe even if we could link them all from here that would be a start. I'm going to do a few that I found and anyone else that has upgraded and posted about it please post up and let us know the positives and negatives. I'm currently leaning towards the 6100 on ebay but they are out of stock. Xprite 6100: Baja Squadron Pro: 4x6 LED housing: JNS Engineering: Custom Projector:
  2. I've run a 125cc Lifan engine on my pit bike for around a year now, and it has performed really well. I decided to wire some lights to the bike and I faced some problems. The engine came with all the electric components and wires required for ignition, and it also has a light coil in it from the factory so I thought wiring some lights should be easy. I made a very simple wiring for the headlight and the tail light (picture of the diagram attached) and I used a multimeter to check the connection between ground and the wire just after the regulator. Results were good, switch worked just as I thought. Then I installed the light system to the bikes wires. I read from somewhere that the red wire coming from regulator is a power wire (12V) and can be used for different components like lights. So I went on and connected the red wire from the regulator (which by the way had nothing else attached to it before) to the light system, powered the engine up and I got no light at all. I checked the voltage on the red wire while the bike was running, and it was around 6 volts. This surprised me as the regulator that came with the engine was supposed to be regulating the voltage to 12V. I have a couple questions: How many volts come directly from the yellow light coil wire? is the wiring on my light system wrong or is this all happening just because of the weird regulator? Many thanks!
  3. Hey I am about to purchase a 2003 Honda CRF230 and want to replace the seat. Was trying to find out if the seat cover from other year models would fit the '03. Is it possible also to put a headlight on to this bike? I am seeing different kits you can purchase, but just want to make sure it will have a stock headlight connector? Any advice appreciated!
  4. Looking for info on an H4 LED bulb replacement. I'm not looking to use the 4x6 headlights many have used. I'll be doing the KLX450 headlight/fairing mod. Looks like eBay has a bunch of options, but to use with stock DRZ wiring what wattage/specs am I looking for? Anyone had success/nightmares? Looking at something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-H4-6500K-COB-LED-Motorcycle-Hi-Lo-Fog-Lamp-Headlight-Bulb-For-Moto-RH/292243629220?hash=item440b13e4a4:g:mxwAAOSwJ~RZsOJ4&vxp=mtr
  5. Hi, Has anyone had any experience with JNS Engineering LED lighting kits? It looks like they do a DR650 and DRZ400 kit http://www.jnsengineering.com/product/suzuki-dr650-drz400-led-headlight-kit/?attribute_color=Black
  6. Hi one and all, Do any of you do, or ever do, plastic restoration? In the process of doing a resto on a 1981 Yamaha IT 250 and the plastics are hell to come by. Soooo, I decided to restore them. Here are some samples of before and after. Tail light lens was restored as well. If anyone here does this, post them up. If you want to know what I did, then pm me as it would be too long to post here.
  7. Hello everyone, I have a 2001 ktm 250 exc. My headlight stopped working and i noticed the bulb broke so I put in a new one. I plugged everything in and nothing happened. I checked the voltage from the wires coming from the bike to the headlight and got nothing. I thought maybe a blown fuse but I do not see any fuses in the cluster.
  8. Hey guys I have a trail tech x2 on my 2009 drz400sm and I love the look ok it but the output at night isn't the best I had a word to trail tech about replacing the bulbs and they said the bottom light is a h3 bulb so that's no worries to change but the problem is the top bulb is a MR16 halogen which was made in house by them just wondering if anyone else has wired up a brighter bulb if so help would be much apreciated I wanted to put the white led bulbs in cheers guys 🖤
  9. Hey Riders, I picked up a used, 2012 DRZ 400s. I love this bike. The previous owner set it up for trails, which was cool because it had many accessories, skit plate, aggressive tires, bark busters, etc. But it seems like the maintenance was a bit of a hack job. There were live, exposed wired under the seat, the chain was beyond loose and clanking, non matching allen screws etc. for parts, etc. That gives you a general context for my question. So I found this wire wrap + switch? up near the computer/dash the wiring sheath looks factory but I have no clue what this is. I have a Clymer manual that does say much/no pics. I thought I would reach out to fellow DRZ owners to see if you know what this is, does it come from factory or some lost accessory? All the the signals, horn, brake lights seem to work. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Ride on.
  10. Hey everyone, I'm looking to put a headlight on my 450. I'm not looking to make it street legal or anything just something so I can go ride around at night time during the summer on trails. I've found a few headlights but specifically looking at this one: https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/polisport-halo-headlight-p. The problem is I cant figure out if I need an aftermarket stator or not. Im not opposed to running some sort of rechargeable battery pack if anyone has recommendations for that too. Thanks for any help! Picture for attention hah
  11. looking for an upgraded headlight for my 98 300exc. when i got it the PO put a hid kit on it, but since it doesnt have a battery it isnt that bright even when revving... im also powering a weak rear running light/tag light when i flip my headlights on. Looking for a decent upgrade that wont break the bank. thanks!
  12. I have a 2015 KTM 300 XC that has all of the mountings for a headlight and I was wandering if it was possible if I could put a freeride headlight on it with my current fender. Thansk in advance.
  13. Hi. I recently bought a headlight for my 2000 Yamaha TTR 225. However I don’t know how to hook it up. I also have a on off switch that I don’t know how to add to hook to the light. Any and all help would be appreciated. I’m beginner at motorcycle mechanics so yeah... picture below Here the wiring diagram: Green-Negative Blue-Positive Brown-Small lights on the side White-Low Beam
  14. I have a 2012 WR450 and the main headlight is not working. Not street legal (no turn signals/ not plated) When I depress the on/off button the auxiliary light and the tail light do come on. When I start the bike, the headlight does not come on. I have put the bike in gear and the headlight doesn't come on. I have checked the following: Battery connections: Good Battery charge: Good (new battery) Headlight Relay: Good Bulb: Good (Checked continuity with no resistance) Even installed a new bulb. Voltage to bulb: Good (removed the connector from the back of the bulb. Depressed the on/off switch: no vdc. Turned on the bike: approx 12 vdc) All Fuses: Good Multi-ground connector: Good (disassembled, cleaned, connector gel applied) Generator output: Good (checked at battery connection not running: 12 vdc. checked at battery connection when running: 13.5-14 vdc) A few rides ago the headlight came on for a while and then turned off. It has not turned on since. I have removed nearly every connection on the bike and looked for any signs of corrosion or water intrusion. Nothing. Applied connector gel on each before re-connecting. I am at a loss now and am out of ideas. Does anyone have any more ideas as to what I am missing? It seems like everything in the light circuit is operating as required, but nothing happens. 15. Hi Guys Hope this post finds ya all well and in good health ! Well ... as you have noticed already ... I've encountered a strange problem on my 2017 KTM 500 EXC-F Six Days. I've aaaalways liked the "duke" headlights style and as soon as I realized that KTM have this headlight model KTM X2 HID 7811490100028 I instantly went for it knowing it was just plug and play installation. This job I did around last February. Job went perfectly fine, tried and tested all OK and it REALLY shines big time! However, last weekend, while night driving, I noticed that while engaging the clutch, headlight goes off completely. With high beam, problem is even worse, as sometimes it takes around 5 seconds to come back again. I did check all the wiring for some loose contact but nothing. Any ideas what the issue could be ?? If you had to ask me how the installation was... very simple ... remove "old" headlight by disconnecting the connector ... install new headlight by connecting connector ... that's all. Thanks in advance for your help, much appreciated since this issue is kind of driving me crazy now Geoff
  16. I am converting my 2005 Honda crf250r dirt bike into a street legal supermoto but have run into a problem. I used the tusk lighting kit and upgraded stator to do the conversion. Everything is working on the bike, turn signals, computer, taillight, on/off switch, ect. except the headlight!! I simply cannot figure out how to wire it to the tusk harness. Since its a race bike, it didn't have an existing headlight. The headlight I bought is the Poliosport Halo. Included are the diagrams to the headlight and the handlebar switch. If someone could explain how to go about wiring the headlight I would really appreciate it.

    2017 YAMAHA TR230 Headlight install

Hi I have a 2017 ttr230 and I ordered a headlight and switch but I need a wire harness unless if anyone knows how to wire it a Different way. https://m.ebay.ca/itm/Universal-Dirt-Bike-Motorcycle-Vision-Headlight-Head-Light-Street-Fighter-Lamp-/332143818141?txnId=1501555486014 https://m.ebay.ca/itm/7-8-39-39-22mm-Motorcycle-Handlebar-Horn-Turn-Signals-High-Low-Beam-Headlight-Switch-/142470679622?txnId=1497984268004
  18. Ok so i have a 2004 ktm 450 exc with a baja designs dual sport kit installed by the dealer back in 04. I have changed the blinkers to LED as well as the tail light and have also changed the flasher. When I bought the bike I replaced the battery and have always had issues with the battery dying. the battery will charge to full after a long day of riding but will die after a few days of sitting. (The battery has now been dead for 2 years) If I ride with the headlight on the battery will not charge and it will actually drain the battery. I dont even remember the last time I used my electric start because of this! My blinkers work fine but when the headlight is on the led blinkers barely work, and the horn works but is quiet, like there is no power to it. They work for a few minutes but then dont. When I turn the headlight off my blinkers work fine and the horn is loud. The headlight is the stock halogen 55 watt bulb and my stator is making power. I don’t know where to start, any suggestions?
  19. Hey guys, so the standard xr 650r headlight is garbage, it barely shines at all and ill be doing some night street riding, so whats the best option for a headlight and headlight plastics out there on the market, that still looks good. Also, any other good upgrades for an xr650r being set up for dual sport riding would be awesome 🙂 thanks ! also can someone tell me if the trailtech 8" race light is road legal (has high low beam or can be added) cheers
  20. Recently purchased s 2005 KTM 250 exc. I am out of state from where the bike is currently stored and am trying to get info about the stock stator. Looking at OEM part schematics, I find that this year and model apparently could have either the 2k-2 stator with about 35-40W output or the 2k-3 stator with a better/higher output (https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-schematic/21). The bike currently has no head light but allegedly it used to when it was bought. Is there an easy way to know which stator is actually on my bike without pulling it out and actually looking at it or testing the output? Or should I assume that if no one has done the upgrade to 2k-3 stator that it would have a 2k-2 stator by default? Next question: If the bike has 2k-2 stator, what would be the brightest light I could get for relatively decent price. Broad question, I know. But if anyone has some really standout recommendations for older type bikes, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
  21. bought a 2005 ktm 200 exc and the speedometer seems to be removed. also there is a small metallic pin next to the speedometer mounting, any idea what that is for? I have no knowledge in bikes, and would like to get the lights working as soon as possible.
  22. Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 2010 Suzuki DRZ400E and am in love. The bike is awesome and rides like a dream. It has one issue though. Sometimes the Headlight does not come on at all (High or Low beam) but the blue Headlight indicator on the instrument panel is permanently on (even when switch between High to Low beam). When the Headlight works normally, the blue Headlight indicator on the instrument panel works as it should as well, only coming on when High Beam is selected. The issue randomly sorts itself out from time to time. However it's quite odd and makes evening / night rides impossible. Have any of you legends come across this issue or know what it is and what needs to be done to fix? Thanks in advance.
  23. I’m hoping someone has a bit more knowledge then what I’ve been finding And have. So can any one help me out with a lighting setup for my 2013 250sx. Expecting to put a battery on the bike where I wanna run a front and rear light, but will I Have to upgrade the stator as well to run both of those lights! All help is appreciated besides the “should have bought an xc”.
  24. Hey everyone. I’ve got a 2019 beta xtrainer. Previous owner removed the horn/blinker/light cluster. The headlight works but is dim. I’ve been told that is neither high or low beam but a 5w pilot light. I’d really like to be able to at least have one of the 2 (high or low) that provides some light for when I’m headed back to the pickup at dusk. Is there a particular switch I can buy? Also...electrical is pretty foreign to me, and although I can work my way through lots of things I’m a bit nervous about this. Lots of wires and connections... I found this switch (link below) but it’s sold out. I can’t imagine this is a super difficult process, anyone have any suggestions? http://sicassracing.com/store/products/switches/head_light_switches/2015_beta_bar_mounted_hi_lo_off_head_light_switch
  25. I have a 2020 yz250fx that needs a headlight. I would like to do a factory style harness mirroring that of the wr250. Anyone have any recommendations on where to splice and pull power from? Im not crazy about connecting directly to the battery and would prefer to run it through the electrical system already in play. Does anyone know of a company that makes a good harness or am I going to have to wire one up myself? Details/ideas/pics are greatly appreciated!!!
