2012 KLX250S with FMF powerbomb. Melted my DS pants in a hail storm at 12,000 feet trying to get off the mountain in lightning. These were on back order but Rancho Cuchamonga Yamaha online kept my order for months until it was in, and sent it. I had to grind angles on the tabs to fit the taper of the bomb. Visually I do not like the hose clamp, but understand function over looks. Fit is super tight. No test ride today, been too sick. Hopefully this does not stick out too far. I will update with how well it works as soon as I test ride it. -
Would it help to wrap the boot that goes from the carb to the air box under the seat in that gold reflective tape, to keep the heat away from the intake, therefore getting cooler air into the engine? What about wrapping the header in Exhaust wrapping so some heat stays away from the cylinder head? Would it be worth anything (power, running better etc.), or will it not do anything at all?

I'd like to step up to the Powerbomb header on my XR/L but have ruined/burned holes in a few pairs of riding pants on the Powerbomb on my last bike (KLX250S). I am pleased with the Q4 on the XR/L and believe there might be a little more to be had with the FMF header, so I'd love to hear and see pics if possible of what kind of shielding you all have used or created for the Powerbomb on this bike.
