  1. Thinking i need to upgrade from my HJC helmet. I would really like a 6d or a carbon bell but dang over $650 for a helmet. Found this one on ebay seem like a decent deal? http://www.ebay.com/itm/332383149064?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  2. WARNING: On Oakley lenses (not sure if all) there is a thin plastic coating on the inside, probably for anti-fog. The plastic in these stickon lenses will make that thin coat sticky. I was able to remove the coating with lots of hot water and paper towels, which probably ruined the lens anti-fog. We'll see. I removed it since it was already messed up by the stickon lenses. Did not see this issue on the Scott lenses I have used so far. Stick on Bifocals by Zcifi Lenses +2.00 - 3 Packs Just get wet and apply to goggle lens. Sticks there forever, but will just peel right off, no glue used (just surface tension). Get a new lens? Just peel off, wet, and reuse. Fantastic product. Been using these since Feb. 2016, so just over one year. This pair has stuck on perfectly all that time. In the photo they have air behind them because I pulled the lens and washed it hard in the sink. Just add a drop of water and they will stick right back down perfectly. When I had them in the goggles and washed them with windex they never came undone. Stayed on perfectly. 2.0 diopters is a good magnification for me. I can read my GPS, trail maps, make carb adjustments, wrench on the bike, all without removing my goggles. Overall a fantastic product that costs about $13.50 each if you buy a 3-pack.
  3. im looking to get 100 percent accuri 2 otg goggles and a fox v1 revn helmet and was wonder if anyone had knew how they fit?
  4. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Does anyone know if i can still find airoh aviator 2.1's for sale, and for a good price? Thanks.
  5. Time to buy a new helmet, this one looks nice, but.. Does anybody know which Armega goggles would look best on it?? The whole set is these colors btw
  6. Below is an image (red, white and blue) of a fairly typical dirt bike helmet, like the model I have. I found that when I struck a tree with my head (fortunately, going slow) that the impact of the tree with the projection out in front of the chin forced my head back sharply, giving me whiplash. I had neck pain for months. My doctor said if you sever/snap your spinal cord up high like that you would become a quadriplegic. Now, below second helmet design (red) I see more of in pro motocross races. Notice the chin is less pronounced. I also notice that in crashes in pro races the visor snaps off easily, as it should to lessen whiplash. So, am I riding with the wrong helmet in the woods?
  7. Again not sure where this disscussion belongs but does anyone if and where I can find airoh helmets in stores around the US or do I have to order them online? Thanks!

  9. Kirsh Helmets Debuts With CHM-1, the Toughest, Lowest-profile, DOT-certified Half-shell Helmet on the Market SCHENECTADY, NY – October 11, 2017 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – Kirsh Helmetsa member of the Impact Technologies family, both founded by Jason E. Kirshon, are poised to effect a sea of change in the motorsports and other helmet industries. For decades, legacy compression polystyrene technology (aka foam) has been the standard in helmets, from motorsports to football to snowboarding and any number of other impact sports and activities. No longer. “Has been” is the right way to frame it, because Kirsh Helmets, with its patented fluid-displacement-liner (FDL), is about to make foam to helmets what rotary phones are to cellular technology—obsolete. “We see Kirsh’s fluid displacement liner as a game changer,” said Donnie DeVito, President and Chief Operating Officer of Kirsh Helmets. “It works better than foam, it’s safer and it’s adaptable to any number of sports and high-speed activities.” Kirsh Helmets, Inc., a member of the Impact Technologies family, was formed in late January 2017 to take up the challenge of commercializing the innovative, patented technology invented by Jason Kirshon. Focusing first on solving the problem of unsafe—but popular—novelty half-shell motorcycle helmets, Kirsh’s CHM-1 outperforms “competing” helmets by orders of magnitude in independent testing. At one half of an inch thick, the CHM-1 is the lowest-profile half-shell helmet on the market. Made from the highest-quality materials, coupled with the most-advanced impact technology available, it is also Department of Transportation–certified and entirely manufactured in the U.S.A. Since their inception, the thinking on helmet design has been “more is better.” More foam equals more protection for the head in the event of impact trauma. The independent testing conducted on the Kirsh CHM-1 proves this is not the case. Foam does little to slow down or prevent the brain from slamming into the skull after impact. And the bulk necessary for foam helmets requires more mass, which, in turn, translates into more torque exerted upon the head and neck in the event of a crash. The Kirsh FDL’s silicone and fluid construct mimics the body’s natural protective functions. The brain sits in fluid in the skull. With the FDL, the skull sits in fluid within the helmet. This allows for less mass, reducing impact torque, and a fluid buffer that more effectively protects the skull and brain. And the malleability of the liner ensures that it conforms uniquely to each user’s head, insuring better protection and a custom fit, which means much greater comfort. Size and style are key components that influence consumers. Despite overwhelming evidence that helmet use reduces the likelihood of injury for motorcycle riders, many go without. Kirsh is looking to help change that and reduce traumatic brain injury across the board by offering stylish, low-profile helmets that are safer and work better than their larger, bulkier predecessors. Another compelling feature separating the CHM-1 from all other helmets on the market is its ability to sustain multiple impacts without compromising the helmet’s integrity. And the versatility of the FDL allows for application in half-shell and full-shell helmet designs for any sport or activity that requires the use of head protection, meaning its potential goes far beyond motorsports. So, a question: What do rotary phones, the Ford Edsel, the answering machine, and the foam helmet have in common? Answer: They’re all obsolete relics. Kirsh Helmets is offering the next generation of helmet technology, today, and, for the motorcycle rider, the world is a safer place because of it. About Kirsh Helmets Kirsh Helmets, a member of the Impact Technologies family of companies, is an All-American-Made Helmet Company. Our unique technology brings together style, safety, comfort, and improved performance. Source: Impact Technologies
  10. Do you guys know of any walk-in store in NYC that sells dirt bike gear? Such as helmets, boots and etc. Any store better than the other? Thanks in advance. sincerly, Einar Þ
  11. I recently had a nasty crash while racing a hare scramble and I need to replace my helmet (Bell SX-1). It seemed to be the only helmet to fit my square shaped head and it appears Bell has discontinued that line. Any suggestions on a new helmet? Forewarning, Shift, Fox, and EVS helmets don't fit me. Was hoping you guys and gals could help me out on this one. Thanks
  12. Hello guys, my previous helmet was 3-4 years old, so it was the time to replace it. I always liked the style of the Airoh helmets, so I decided I'll buy one. I measured my head size at home, it is 59cm/23.2 inches, so according to the Airoh helmet size chart I should go with the L size. When I went to the local shop to buy the helmet, I tried on the L sized helmet, the shop assistant said it's too big for me (it was too loose, the helmet moved independently of my head with little- almost no resistance). I tried on the M-sized helmet, it fits too, she said it's the right size for my head. I told her that I feel a bit pressure, she said it's nothing to worry about. We checked my head shape, and the helmet is for people with the same head shape. I asked thinking time, before I buy a helmet (especially if the helmet costs that much).. My question is, what is your opinion- suggestion guys? Thanks in advice!
  13. I rarely ever buckle my helmet. I should probably start

  17. Anyone familiar with the current lineup of airoh helmets? I have an original aviator but the goggle port is pretty small and I'm always struggling with it pushing my goggles and pinching my nose. I'm due for a new helmet and considering another airoh, 2.2, 2.3 or one of the others I'm willing to compromise a little bit for a larger goggle port
  18. I'm 42 6 foot 200 lbs male looking for any and all gear for adventure riding. I have a helmet but that's about it. 20. Hey guys, I was riding this weekend on some slick trails here in the NW. I bounced off a rock and went side down into a muddy embankment, i went down shoulder first at maybe 10 MPH and bonked my head in some clay. I felt totally fine immediately after, no dizziness/pain and kept going. Ive taken similar falls mountain biking and a new helmet wasnt even a thought. I checked the outer shell and inner foam and both look fine. Everything on the internet tells me im going to die if i re-use this helmet. What do you guys do when you go down and bonk the ole noggin??
  21. Back 40 years ago, when I was road racing, Snell helmets were the best for motorcycles. But in recent times, Snell focuses on car racing, which is bad for motorcycle crashes. This video does a good job of explaining the differences. The Snell Helmet Standard is Meaningless?
