  1. Hello, I am curious about what you guys think I should get as a woods bike for riding tight single track in south Missouri (Chadwick). It will be for rocky single track riding in the woods. I have ridden a 2011 kx250f on these trails and found it very difficult to navigate the rocky terrain with a heavy bike. I am 5’ 11” and weight 135 lbs and get very tired when I have to muscle the bike around in the woods especially on long hill climbs. I would like something lighter and I’m debating wether I should get a crf150rb and outfit it for the woods or just use a 2005 yz125 as my bike of choice. Upside is that I have a really nice yz125 I can start to covert for woods riding. I have heard good things about the crf150 but I’m afraid there will be to much modification required to make it comfortable to rip in the woods. What do you guys think? The crf150 will be lighter than the yz125 which is a plus.
  2. Hows it goin everyone, I've owned a dirt bike for about 1month 1/2 now, been practicing around my property, made a little jump (probably only about 1.5ft high), working on making a little rut to corner in, and have hit the trails twice (Mostly ATV trails, 1 or 2 single track). And even hit a little MX track at said trail. My question is, is what is the best technique to be hitting/going over obstacles such as tree logs, stumps or rocks? I have the basic ability to do a wheelie (popping clutch or power wheelies) and my biggest question is, do good riders pop the clutch to go over obstacles? or do they just gas it and keep weight to the back? I've been watching these "Enduro Kex" Guys on youtube, and watching them just do hill climbs and obstacles in the forest is so cool to me. I've noticed when hill climbing: be standing, good throttle (With 2 strokes they keep their RPM in their power band, how do I want to be doing this with a 4 stroke?), rear break control, very close to front of bike and leaning forward, and no fear. Am I understanding the BASIC concept of a hill climb or am I way off? I've noticed for clearing obstacles: be standing, either pop clutch / crack throttle (can't tell because of hand gaurds), weight to the back of bike just before / as you hit obstacle. Which is the best/correct technique for going over decent size logs/stumps/rocks? popping clutch or just giving gas. I've encountered a single log blocking the path on my few trail experiences, and the one I did come across was really small that I wasn't even worried about clutch/gas/leaning back, I just gave a little extra gas and went right over it. So, what is the correct / best / most efficient way to clear obstacles, do hill climbs, and is there anything I can do to improve my skill as a new rider (other than just keep riding and practicing what I'm weaker at) Riding a '04 YZ250F if it makes any difference to technique (4stroke vs 2 stroke(?) )
  3. Hello friends, My 7-year-old son recently worked up the coaching to climb a steep little hill by our home on our 2007 Honda CRF50F. As you know, these are fun/proud moments for a parent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYcZTLmIJNw
  4. I threw down a hill climb challenge for the boys yesterday. They’ll get there...
  5. well you can't do anything else I recently got this ole 82 XR200R , grew up on these bikes , my boy bought a house that came with several acres backwood's so we started making some trail's and hill's ,,, always liked the 81 82 83 XR'S my favorite 👍
  6. I have a 98 cr 250 I’m looking for some insight to adjust my suspension for my weight I’m 170, 5’7” I’m a pretty modest rider single track, woods, trails. Mine is a brute to ride. Feels way to stiff for my weight and I don’t know where stock settings.
  7. i’m looking at buying a 2016 te 125 with 67 hours and supposedly mechanical sound. however i’ve just been doing some reading and people say that it’s not very good for hill climbs and it’s got no low end. On my old bike i would mostly do woods, beach, hill climbs and hard dirt/rocks trail rides. also some technical stuff like tiger woods trails and log hopping. what are you guys opinions on this bike for me, other bikes that i could buy for a good price are exc350f and wr250f however i kind of feel like they’ll be to heavy. i would say my skill level is probably just about intermediate lol.
  8. I will post all of my vids from enduro riding on my Gasgas EC 250 2008 racing... today first vid of crashing, because of veeeery slippery conditions... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYDDqT7zuS4
