Do the Hinson Clutch covers scratch up and wear out easy? Looking to buy one just don't want it to scratch all to hell after the first ride since it is pretty pricy. Thanks.

Started winter engine rebuild for my CR250. Clutch is total crap. Basket is grooved and looks like it was filed once before. Inner hub has some groves and shows signs of slippage and heat. Plates all look warped. What brands of clutch friction and steel plates are good. I have always run Hinson kits. Tusk has a competition kit (includes both plates and springs) but it’s so cheap ($65-70)I worry it’s junk. ProX ($150) is only $50 less than Hinson if I can find the Hinson kit with the friction & steel plates and springs all in one. What brands should I stay away from and what brands am I pissing money away for a name?

Well I have a question and I’m hoping I’m going in the right direction here. I just got done with the race this past Sunday, and after I washed the bike I started it and let it warm up for a bit. While it was on the stand, I pulled in the clutch lever put the shifter into first gear in the bike automatically died. So then I did it again this time cracking the throttle a little bit and while the clutch is pulled in the rear tire will spin as if the clutch was being let out even though it is pulled to the bar. Did I fry my clutch plates in the race? I tried adjusting the clutch as tight as possible but it still did it. Thanks

I recently tore my 2006 kx250f down to replace a broken case. Its all back together and everything works properly except the clutch. Its a full Hinson clutch basket, hub, plates etc. Plates are in great shape, basket has no notches nor does the hub. When I pull the clutch lever in the Pressure plate lifts but it takes the basket with it. Then when you let go it gets stuck like that and you have to push the whole assembly down by hand. Then pull the lever and it does it all over again. I noticed the plates were a little hard to pull apart but i think that's just from the oil. I have no clue whats going on. Everything seems to be put together right but i can't figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have an '18 CRF 450 R. I'm getting a new clutch installed soon...be interested in actually hearing from people (who have them on their bikes) which one they prefer and why. I have owned several Rekluse Torque drives and they are outstanding...Been looking at the Hinson because I have never had one in my bike (I know its more expensive than Rekluse too). That BTL slipper clutch looks amazing...but is it worth $1,700...? Ouch.... Strictly talking MANUAL vs MANUAL.... Thanks

My son's 15-16 WR250F is needing a new clutch/basket. I'm not interested in an auto clutch so my question Is do any of you have experience with the Hinson billetproof or the Rekluse core manual torq. Drive. There is a $200 difference favoring the Rekluse and of course both sites say their product is the best. Any pointers here would be appreciated.

Put my bike up on the stand today to do some preventative maintenance. I swapped out all new cables and adjusted them, oil/filter change and took off the clutch outer cover to take a look and found this... and not a single bit of wear on it, like brand new.

Hey guys needing some help with a lockout clutch install. If i torque the bolts down all the way, the pressure plate hits up against the flat backside of the lockout fingers when I pull in the clutch, and im only able to pull in the clutch halfway before that happens. From what I understand, the fingers are supposed to be able to rotate freely outward and not make any contact with the pressure plate up to a certain point, and im guessing that point would be somewhere where the fingers are rounded- somewhere about where the red line is in the picture. I have no clue what is wrong with the setup I have, But I wanna go ride this weekend so trying to get it fixed ASAP. Anyone have experience with the lockout clutch? Could someone Veryify where its supposed to contact? I believe I can remedy it with some spacers if I could find out what the gapping is supposed to be...

Hello, I need to replace my bike clutch. After checking my manual, I saw that the clutch has differente friction and steel plates. I have searched aftermarket kits and didn't saw any mention to different sizes. Does anyone care about this or the specification of plates must be followed as Yamaha states? Btw, any recommendation on the brand to use ? Thanks for any help.
