    honda Cr 125 Issues

Hello, I'm having a couple problems out of my 2000 Cr 125 that I recently picked up about 2 months ago and wondering if anybody could help maybe point me in the right direction to fixing these problems. 1.) Little to no power in first gear (won't even pull front wheel off ground) 2.) When holding the bike in the powerband it will "kick in and out", out more then in though 3.) The bike is blowing quite a bit of splooge from all the exaust connection points and even dripping on my rear swingarm, I've tried changing my mix ratios from 32:1 to 36:1 to 40:1 and the problem still persist so I just stuck with 36:1 Also can't find an exact answer on what compression the bike is supposed to be running at. I recently compression tested it and it read at about 120. I've read up on these problems quite a lot but everybody says something different, everything from jetting, reeds, top end, ect.. Any sort of lead in direction would be highly appreciated!

honda Trans oil turns white milkshake

Alright guys. Today I took out my 2016 crf250r for a trail ride I cross some rivers and ive notice my bike was leaking white thick milky it was coming out from the trans breather. Bike keeps dying out.
  3. Sorry if this is not the right forum to post this, but I've recently started taking apart the top end on my 2008 ktm exc-r 450. I was able to loosen 3 out of the 4 bolts that hold the cylinder head on and when I got to the last one (front right shown in the picture) the inside rounded out. As you can see from the picture its pretty close to the side of the engine so nothing can fit around the outside of it. I tried using a star-head to get a little more grab on the inside of the bolt head but no luck. I'm trying to figure out what my options are before I make anything worse. I've been told I could cut the bolt head off, but if I do wont the threads inside still be holding the cylinder head down?? Maybe a stupid question, since from looking on the oem parts finder it looks like the threads dont start until their into that bottom part of the engine. I've also head of tack welding a bolt on top to remove it, but not sure how hard thatd be to do with such little space. Are there any other tools or tricks to getting this thing out before resorting to those last ditch efforts?
  4. I've just turned 16 and have just about enough money to buy myself a cr125 i'm 6,3, i wanted to get an 85 for my first bike but i am to tall so i was thinking of getting a 125, so i want to know is a cr 125 too powerful for my first bike, i had a little 125 pitbike so i know how to use clutch but is a cr125 too powerful for a first bike ? Thanks in advance

    Clutch let out

I have a 2008 Honda crf 450x and when I turn to the right the clutch lets out further and when I turn to the left the clutch lets out close. Does anyone know how to fix it?
  7. Hey, I've had my 01 cr125 (picture one) for sale on kjiji for a while now...No serious inquiries until someone messages me pictures of a 01 yz450f (picture two) that he's willing to trade (evenly) for mine. He says the engine was fully rebuilt about 15 hours ago. Not sure if this is a good deal? Any known problems with the 450? It looks like its in decent shape? Thanks in advance.
  8. Okay... So... I have ridden now for probably four or five years, yesterday on my 16th birthday I got spoiled rotten from my family and I was gifted A 2017 CRF450R. I was just wondering what the differences are like from a 2 stroke... The biggest bike I have owned before was a 125cc two stroke. I have ridden a 450 and a 250f and decided I liked it. That's how i ended up with it.. So I only really know stuff from 2 strokes, like changing gears.. What kind of noise am i looking for? Any tips when hitting jumps? Corners? Please just any and all information is helpful Thank you.

    2013 Husqvarna TXC310 Brakes

Does the 2013 Husqvarna TXC310 come with Brembo brakes stock?
  11. Hey everyone, new member here. I recently traded my 2001 Honda 250EX for a 1985 XR200R. The bike is tight all around and looks like it wasn't used much in its life. However, there is a noise coming from the engine that's not from the crank. It's up in the head somewhere. I adjusted the vales and started the bike up, only to hear a slightly quieter noise which led my father and I to believe that it's the Cam chain. If the bike ends up needing one, where can I find an aftermarket chain? I've checked eBay, xrsonly, and the normal part sites and I am not able to find anyone who has a chain in stock. I called my local dealer and they said they could get one for $70, but I just think that I can find it online for cheaper. It doesn't have to be OEM. Thanks
  12. Hello Everyone, I recently purchased a 2002 Honda cr250 two stroke. I am in the process of fixing somethings before riding season to make sure its ready to go. I have not rode a dirt bike since I owned a 70. I understand how to ride a manual and I did ride my friends late 80s four stroke 350 about a month ago once and I did pretty good considering not riding a manual before. I did stall a few times but I went through all the gears and went about 60mph on the road. That being said, he did say this cr250 is wicked compared to that bike. I was just wondering what you guys think and any tips for me? Thanks in advance!
  13. Hello, new to the forums and been wanting to join for awhile. Anyways, down to the problem. I have a brand new 2018 Honda Recon and everytime I get it into the high RPM's it always seems to backfire. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad, but I used to ride a dirt bike and it rarely backfired. Just curious, maybe its not a big deal either way I'd like to know. P.S I didn't really know where to post this, forgive me if it belongs somewhere else.

    New Bike! KTM 350 XC-F

I did it. Finally quit beating around the bush and decided to go for it. Now the proud owner of a bran-USED 2014 KTM 350 XC-F. Bought it today, only had the chance to ride it down the road and back and I think I’m in for a treat. Previously had a 250 XC that I bought used November of 2016. Kept buying parts and constantly working on it to get it where I want it, but with out any luck so I decided to go back on the four stroke route. Anyone have any recommendations for aftermarket on it? It already has a lot including a skid plate, boyesen super cooler water pump, hand guards, rear brake rotor guard, radiator braces, mouse bibs in the tires, brand new Dunlop MX 3 S tires, radiator fan, shorai lithium battery, side grab bar, and ktm silicone hoses.

    XR200R Valve seals?

Hey Guys This is my first post on ThumperTalk! I have a 1990 XR200R that has been difficult to start for a while, generally smokes pretty bad while it warms up, and idles all over the place. It also burns oil pretty solidly. I have suspected for awhile that the compression is low so I picked up a compression tester from harbor freight and tested it. The compression i got when the bike was warmed up was like 80 and then after I put a cap full of oil in the cylinder I got around 90psi. So my question is whether or not you guys think i should just jump into a valve seal/cylinder rings rebuild? Or Whether or not something else could be wrong. Also I am a little unsure of how to find a rebuild kit that will work with this bike. I appreciate your guys's opinions and am excited to hear what you have to say! Thank You!
  17. Hi, I have a 2002 Honda XR250R and I love the bike but the gas tank but, let's be honest, it is quite bland. The seat also dips quite low in comparison to the top of the gas tanks so cornering is more difficult compared to other bikes. I was wondering if there is any street bikes (such as the newer xr250 or the cr230) who's gas tank and seat is interchangeable with my older XR. I have looked at aloop kits and such but they are just too expensive. Not the older XR has a single beam to the handle bars while the newer Hondas have a "double wishbown" frame style. Thanks so much
  18. This comes from a fairly frustrating position after looking at various bikes for weeks on end... I am 5 foot 4, which when looking at off-roading trail riding suitable bikes limits me somewhat (or it did to begin with). To begin with I looked (or tried for want of a better phrase) at Gas Gas Pamperas or CRF230s. Pamperas appear very few and far to come by (UK) and the CRF230s are either a lot of money for what you get, are stolen (not interested), or non runners... Plus, my worry with these is that I would quickly get too comfortable on them and want something a little bigger again... At the moment I have an XR125, which has been an excellent bike for me to learn on - both on and off road. But now I find myself wanting to challenge myself a little more off-road and subsequently need something with a little more go. I've come here looking for ideas. I don't want something new/expensive given that it is simply a bike I will be learning on. It also needs to be 'easier to lower' or low enough for me already (I believe my max seat height is between 34-35 inch seat height), not too maintenance heavy, and not too intimidating - whilst being capable of trail riding and being fun. Am I asking for too much?
  19. Just as the title says, what's everyone's favorite eBay mods for your bikes. I find my self buying quite a few parts on there for cheap money. Might not be the best stuff but it sure is cheap! 👍🏻

    Xr250r cam help!

I have an 1989 xr250r that had an oil issue that I already fixed but my camshaft is rocked one of the lobes messed up and I can't find another. My question is can i use a 1996 or later cam on it they look the same but I was hoping someone knew thanks
  21. So, I picked up a '03 CRF150F a few weeks back. Found out later that it had been rebuilt but UTI, supposedly. It has a BBR exhaust and has been re-jetted with a BBR jetting kit. Ran good until it started having difficulties starting. Changed the oil and it made it easier to start for about a week. Put in a new Rev Box because that's what it had in it, and that has fixed the hard to start issue. But even more lately, there's been a knocking or clunking sound from the bottom end of the engine. You can only hear this knocking sound though when the engine is returning to idle after revving it in neutral. And it has this knock or clunk whether its cold or warmed up, although it does get louder and more frequent when it's warmed. Don't know what it is and haven't figured that out, but when I was test driving it, I got up to fifth gear and all of a sudden it sounded like a valve or something from the top end broke. It was if the engine lost all compression because you could hear the air just blowing in and out of the cylinder. Pushed the bike forward and I could feel that the engine wasn't seized up, but trying to start it with the kick start wouldn't work. Wasn't able to start the bike so I removed the engine and disassembled the top end expecting to see a broken valve or one that wasn't seating right. However, the cylinder head is black and has quite a bit of carbon buildup, so I don't know if that would cause it. Or maybe a valve is out of adjustment or the timing? The connecting rod seems to be tight enough because when you pull the piston up and push it down, there's no slack, except for side to side, which is normal I believe. Valves? Timing? Carbon buildup? Something in the lower end? Any ideas?
  22. Hello, now that you guys have gave me ways to get rid of spray paint im wondering how should i paint it. I would power-coat it but I think that is over my 150 dollar budget. Any thoughts?

    Won’t start hot

I have a 2007 CRF250R, just got the head rebuilt, new piston and cylinder, new timing chain, shims are in spec, air fuel mixture is correct, carb has a boyeson quickshot3, just found out yesterday when I tore it apart, the leak jet was turned all the way in, could that be the problem? timing is perfect, new ignition coil. Starts first kick when cold but once it gets to operating temp and I’ve been riding for a few minutes it is nearly impossible to start back unless I bump start it...any tips or ideas on what could be wrong with it? Thanks!

Need a little help guys. I have a 2012 crf450x. I'm planning on installing my fmf powercore 4 slip-on exhaust, deleting the smog crap and doing the 3x3 airbox modification. I live in Georgia so I'm about 1,000 to 1200 ft above sea level. I'm looking to do my carb jetting so I called FmF and their telling me me I don't need to re-jet. I know I probably need to so can anyone help me out with the correct jetting before I tear this thing apart? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Yz 250 Power valve

Hi, i have a 2015 yz 250 two stroke. I have lots of smoke coming from the power valve over flow. I do not under stand why it is doing this? The smoke make a steaming sound and is coming out constantly. Also when my bike is kicked over it is bogging a lot. It did not do this the last time i rode, which was a week ago. Thanks.
