  1. I have a 2019 kx450 with the hydraulic clutch, does anyone know of a aftermarket clutch lever I can use ???
  2. I have a 1999 KLX300R which I bought this past April (2017). I only ever ride it on the weekends for no more than an hour (time constraints). Since I bough it, it has always ran hot. The oversized aftermarket pipe it has constantly heats and burns my leg, just from those hour rides. I've dropped it twice and both times the coolant boiled afterward, but it doesn't boil when I just riding it normally. Just this past weekend (late July), I went riding with some friends and put some hard hours on it. As I was coming in for a break I pulled in the clutch and the engine immediately stopped and locked up. I got off and tried to kick it over but it wouldn't budge. I let it cool down then rolled it back and forth in 6th gear to free it up. It starts and runs smoothly now, but there sounds and feels like there is something rattling around in the top of the cylinder. What should I do? Can and should I try to swap another engine into it? What could the problem be? broken piston ring? broken valve/shim?
  3. Hello. So I just completely rebuilt my 2013 kx450 and the bike started up no problem and I broke it in. Then I brought it up state last weekend the bike started and ran amazing then I blew the water pump seal so I just let it sit and I had no place to put it in doors so it sat outside in the rain and brought the bike home in the rain which is like a 2 an half hour drive, washed the bike off and now it was hard to start and backfiring but I got he going after 20 kicks. So the next day I relaxed water pump seal and checked timing and dots were not parallel with the head so I put them parallel and went to start it and got nothing kicked probably 30 times and still nothing so I put the choke on and have just a little gas and it started but didn’t idle and died so I went to start it again and got nothing. I have absolutely no idea what could be wrong any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. hey I was wondering if anybody knows why this problem happened and how i can fix it. I was riding on some trails on my bike (2007 kx 450f) and i stopped to warm up for about 30 mins. At the time it was about -10°c out. I went out to go ride again and i started to kick it over, it would run for about 2 seconds then die again, this happened several times before it finally started. I drove about 500 feet before it stopped running. I look down and there is oil pouring out of the top end. I try to kick it over but the bike is seized. I take it home and I look over the bike. It has no coolant left, the bike isn't seized any more and it still has oil but it looks as if the coolant has miked with the oil. If you know what the problem could be and how to fix it, please let me know. - thanks Alex
  5. hey guys my kx 450 is having a probem,it runs just fine when i first start it and until it gets hot.it seems to cut fuel and just stop accelerating,it does this for a second and cuts back on .m almost sure its not a fuel problem because it would happen when it isnt hot too,ive replaced all 4 valves, springs,and piston and adjusted the valves my mechanic says its the coil but i just want to verify.any ideas?

I am thinking of buying a van for motocross touring (try different MX and Enduro track in summer) . furthermore i am planing to go to Spain for a 2 week Motocross touring as well . and in general i am an easygoing camper which wanna park the car beside the roads/beaches/... and enjoy the nature i have looked at small-medium size vans , something like Ford Transit !? are these cars roomy enough for what i want !? or i need a bigger vans !? and in general what equipment should i buy and install in the van !? or what equipment should i carry with me ?

  9. Recently bought a 2011 kx450, first time owning a 4-stroke, efi for that matter. The bike has a tough time starting, with the idle advancer pulled out I can kick and kick forever and it wont start, it'll even backfire after 10-20 kicks. Ive tried without the idler and the only way it starts is with a throttle blip, even then im taking my chances because it will either start, kickback, or backfire. The guy before put on a full fmf system with no re-tune as far as I know. I really don't think its the valves because it runs fine other than that. It also runs pretty damn hot after 2-3 minutes of warming up. Ive checked the plug and its brown for the most part except for a little white at the electrode. Would a full fmf system really screw with starting that much or am I missing something? Would a bad sensor cause this either? Even after its been warmed up it will start hard again.

We have a 2015 KX 450 and we noticed a little bit of fork oil on the bed of our truck mat, we took the dust seal off and used a seal saver around the seal to get the debris out and that seems to have done the trick. However, is there an easy way to add a little bit of fork oil without taking the fork apart? We maybe lost an ounce if I had to estimate. Is it even worth adding? This is in the AIR FORK side, outer chamber. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Hey guys, so me and my buddy went out riding the other day and we had a little race, his 2014 KX250F vs my 06 KX450. I thought I would have easily smoked him. To my surprise we were dead even :/. Now I am starting to believe something is definitely wrong with my bike. The piston is brand new, the valves were recently adjusted. However my carb has been in need of a good clean. Are these newer 250F's really that fast? Or is it possible something is wrong with my bike (Clutches, carb, valves)? He does have an FMF pipe on his bike and he is definitely lighter than me by a couple pounds at least. What so you guys think?
  12. Second ride out on my 2014 kx450f first ride everything smooth, replaced my front sprocket and Chain roller (Rear chain cover is slightly rubbing on chain). On the lower left side i hear an occasional rattle when riding in all gears putting around. When I hit the gas hard and rip through the gears ur tends to go away. Also goes away when bike is stationary as well as just rolling in neutral. Chain and sprockets are new. could it be chain slap? Or worse something with my transmission? If so how would I go about fixing it considering it’s all new parts
  13. today we have 30°F(-1°C) i check my fork air pressure and in both leg it was 30.5 psi . my last presure check 1 day ago when the themp was around 50°F(10°C) was 34psi . the first thought was that i have lost air , but i done more search and i underestand that during winter or when it get colder sir become condence in the fork and we can have a decrease in air presure . now my main question is that , what happen if i set my air presure to 34 now and next day we get 40-50 °F !? will i damage my air fork valving or ... !? what about going in MX track and during the practice the air presure inside the fork rising up !? should i keep my fork air pressure low in the winter !?
  14. 60 hours back i did put new koyo bearings for crank,after some trans problem while im here i want to replace crank seals so i had to heat case and hammer down bearings.Should i replace them now?

Ok so rn i ride a kx450f but i dont go to the track much i mostly just ride around and explore but these 4t are expensive to maintain mostly bc i dont go to the track much im wondering what is yalls thoughts about switching to a Cr125 Bc i found one for 2200$ its a 2001 its really clean im obviously gonna haggle some but i just wanna know how these things are
  16. Hey guys just bought a used kx450f 2018. The registration is under the previous owner still. I’m working on getting all the paperwork sorted but I’m curious if I can cross the bike with the valid registration from the previous owner. I have the registration.
  17. I missed tracking where this little top hat came out of in my 2011 kx450f. Was thinking clutch or right side engine cover. Any help would be appreciated I can’t seem to find it in the manual.
  18. My brand new 2020 KX450 really struggles to start when cold? I have to try multiple times and use the throttle to eventually get it fired up. It’s not the easiest (first half second) even when warm but it starts fine when warm. I just had a 2020 KLX300r that fired up first push no matter what, so I’m wondering why this one is not. All I’ve done is the hour break-in. Never dropped it. It had the problem pretty much from the start. I’ve taken off the battery and charged it fully, the air filter is clean, there’s no issue with the fuel line or delivery. Only thing I can think of now is the spark plug? But then it should be hard to start both cold and warm right? And after only a few minutes on the bike? I knew the yammi had some issues with the e-start which is normal for them, but seems like the 2019/2020 KX’s are easy to start bikes, so I assume mine is not acting normal. Thanks.
  19. I just bought a 2012 KX450 on a brand new top and bottom end, still in break in. So the countershaft seal (behind the front sprocket) is leaking super fast, just pissing out oil. I replaced that seal and it is still leaking the same. Is there another seal behind it that can be bad that I would need to split cases for? Also there were metal flakes (silver and copper) in the filter and oil when I changed it. Does this sound somewhat normal to all of you?
