I've run a 125cc Lifan engine on my pit bike for around a year now, and it has performed really well. I decided to wire some lights to the bike and I faced some problems. The engine came with all the electric components and wires required for ignition, and it also has a light coil in it from the factory so I thought wiring some lights should be easy. I made a very simple wiring for the headlight and the tail light (picture of the diagram attached) and I used a multimeter to check the connection between ground and the wire just after the regulator. Results were good, switch worked just as I thought. Then I installed the light system to the bikes wires. I read from somewhere that the red wire coming from regulator is a power wire (12V) and can be used for different components like lights. So I went on and connected the red wire from the regulator (which by the way had nothing else attached to it before) to the light system, powered the engine up and I got no light at all. I checked the voltage on the red wire while the bike was running, and it was around 6 volts. This surprised me as the regulator that came with the engine was supposed to be regulating the voltage to 12V. I have a couple questions: How many volts come directly from the yellow light coil wire? is the wiring on my light system wrong or is this all happening just because of the weird regulator? Many thanks!

49cc lifan clone clutch is stuck and electric start isn’t able to start engine. Drains oil and removed cover. Now how to pull clutch. Anyone have a rebuild video? Just for the record the screw adjustment on the cover was lose when I got it. When I pulled the part that was attached with the three screws. The gasket on the back of that part seemed torn. Is this needed to build some pressure? This bike is a single gear automatic with no clutch levers.

Hi, Earlier this year I put a Lifan 125 with an automatic clutch into an XR70 for my 9 year old son. Now he's learnt to ride the automatic clutch had become a problem as he's unable to pop the clutch to do wheelies and donuts etc (although he taught himself to slightly depress the gear lever slightly to disengage the clutch and pop the front wheel). I know I can swap the motor out for about $280 AUD off ebay, but I was wondering if it was possible to do a conversion. I've found the following parts on ebay Clutch case Manual Clutch I know I'll also need a lever and cable, but what other parts do you think I'll require? I've also seen a conversion kit for $165 USD, but it's for 88 to 108cc engines and once I convert it to local currency and pay for postage I might as well buy another engine, which won't go down well with the wife. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Im rebuilding a pitbike I don’t know if it’s Lifan with genuine thump star pieces but same engines pretty much I cannot figure out why my timing chain has gotten about 5mm shorter I’ve turned the cam to try release any kinks but still even when I pull it fully tight on the tensioner it still doesn’t reach, any ideas?

Hello people I have a little problem I’m currently rebuilding the front end on my pit pro 150cc which I was finally discovered that it’s a Lifan 150cc oil cooled engine, I’ve been searching for the valve clearance details and found a users manual and found the valve clearance but I still don’t understand what it means, so can someone please tell me how many millimeters the gap needs to be by looking at this, thank you for your help IN 0.05+0.02mm(0.002+0.001in) EX 0.05+0.02mm(0.002+0.001in) Does it mean both the exhaust and the intake need to be 0.07mm?

On my sons 03 XR70, I dropped a Lifan 125 into it when the old motor threw a chain and destroyed the crankcase. The thing really rocks now and he loves it. However at 9 years old he struggles getting it past TDC when he stalls out and half the time I've gotta jump off my bike and restart it for him. Any suggestions on how I can hook up a decompressor on a Lifan 125?

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right section of this forum, "engineering and technology" was the most relevant section I could find. Intro: So my dad and I are working on a project, I'm currently 16 and want to start training riding a dirt bike. So we put months into putting a Lifan 110cc 4 stroke enduro engine in a Yamaha yz 80 (97) that was missing only a engine. From reading forums I gathered that Lifan engines (if made after 2010~) are pretty good, for being a China engine that is. We are starting to finish the project, with only a few things missing. I tested the bike for the first time two days ago, and it didn't seem to have any issues. It sounded healthy, I guess. My dad has been working with stuff like this his entire life, and I trust in his abilities, but regarding this issue I thought I might as well seek answers from forums. Issue: So the bike ran very well for the first two days. It started on a few kicks, sounded healthy and ran well. But I was unaware of the whole "breaking in" process of using a new engine. We did stuff that websites and forums have claimed to "not be healthy for the engine". For example, we revved it in neutral a few times, didn't shift at all (since I'm new to riding I stayed on the first gear), we didn't let the engine get hot before riding, as well as not letting it cool down before being started. In my defense, I don't know much about all of this, I simply trust what my dad tells me. When I started it today after checking the oil and fuel I heard a rattling noise. It seems to come from somewhere around the cylinder. The rattling noise can be heard when rolling the bike with the engine off as well, but not constantly. The second time I started it today to see if the noise remained, it didn't rattle for about 20~ seconds, but then it started again. I heard that it might have something to do with the clutch, but it doesn't seem like it since pulling the clutch in and out, both slow and fast doesn't affect it. My dad said "It's a new engine, I wouldn't worry about it since there shouldn't be any issues". I'm very skeptical about that. I've heard it might be the piston rings that have suffered because of our recklessness. I haven't checked if the noise is still there when actually riding it, but I would guess it is. ALSO: The bike hasn't been driven for that long at all. I would say I've tried riding it for around 0.6~ miles. Did these very short sessions damage the engine in any way? What do you think about this, do I have any reason to worry? Also, sorry if my writing is bad. I'm from Sweden, and English isn't my primary language. I appreciate any information regarding this issue. Too long, didn't read: Rattling from around cylinder, barely been driven (0.6 miles), didn't occur the first two times, lifan 110cc 4 stroke enduro engine. Edit: This has now been fixed. The spark plug was loose. If anyone else is hearing this noise from their engine, it might be worth checking if the spark plug is loose for you as well.

I recently acquired this Chinese pit bike, and was able to get it running. But i have no clue what the make is. The VIN is LYPLYN13050308016. I hope it's not lost forever! All i know is its a 2005 and has a Lifan 125cc CDI engine. Maybe someone will recognize that symbol on the rear mudguard.

Ok, a few months back I bought a lifan 125cc pit bike on a Honda 50cc frame. Needed some work bought a stator, racing ignition, cdi, and a carburetor, mikuni 26mm. I tuned the carb to the perfect setting. I know these are supposed to go 50 mph but I put it to a max speed test and it's maxing out at 34 mph. Anyone know how to get this to go to the max speed.?? Any help is appreciated
