  1. Is it possible to swap the working 110 taotao autoshift electric start from 4 wheeler into a manual shift kickstart taotao pitbike?? Looks like it has all the same mounting points.
  2. Here is my XR100R build from a barely running and slightly crusty parts getter to a fully capable woods machine. I have a ATC200X carb with drilled out exhaust and intake, custom made lift links (I have posted about these before), Battery powered LED headlight for night riding. I am really happy with the way this bike turned out and I wanted to share it with you all. Let me know what you think. I have a picture of it sitting next to my YZ250F and my XR600R so you can see how it sits higher than a normal XR100. I will be taking it out riding the next couple weekends to torture test the lifting link and will take pictures and post more updates of how it goes. Thanks for all of you who have continued to show interest and support to this project, you guys made me fall in love with this little bike and its probably my favorite of my three now and has sparked more ideas for other modifications and even put some visions of creating a business making these components into my head. [I have also received requests for people wanting to purchase the lifting link, I am working on making a large batch of them and will keep everyone interested updated]

  4. I got a question. I own a 2016 KX 85. It ran AMAZING after it first bought it used and was in beautiful condition and I picked it up for only 2500. I was riding when all of a sudden it started bogging down right before the power band.i don’t think it’s jetting because the bogging just turned on like a switch and it was running perfect before it. The bike was like that for a month. Apparently the previous owner never oiled the filter so it was dry as a rock and was falling apart and got sucked into to the intake so I’m guessing my power valve is gummed up or stuck close or open. I was riding one day with the bog issue and about 35 minutes of riding I shut it off to take a break. Came back 20 minutes later and it would not start.I changed the spark plug, cleaned out the carb, checked the reeds, and tried hill starting it but nothing. When ever I try to hill start it I can hear it trying to crank and It starts for like half a second but then dies.I don’t remember if I left the fuel petcock on but what I’m guessing is that I flooded the engine and tried starting which messed up my electronics. The reason why I think I flooded the Engine is because when I took off the reeds the intake manifold and reed were soaked in gas.I heard that starting the engine while flooded can mess with a woodruff key or your CDI or something. There is spark coming from the plug though. And yes I mix the gas with oil at 32:1 cause I’m in the pipe all the time. This is my first time owning a 2 stroke.Any answers or tips.
  5. Hi, I have an old Rupp continental engine that I got running. I got this bike from my neighbor because the flywheel nut had broken off. I had tried to take the flywheel off but I was not able to. When I got the bike fully functional, I took it for a ride and the flywheel came off. I was wondering if I was able to weld the flywheel to the crank shaft? I thought because it was an old bike the metals may be the same.
  6. March 2016 I bought my first motorbike A CRF50 May 2016 I moved to a 2.5acre block and started creating jumps for my level of riding I really tried to make the most of the natural features that were hidden beneath the grass/weeds but I really just ended up adding to a worm line that we constantly rode and added lip to sections that we saw fit. Straight / last corner First Jump Sandy burm Exit burm, minor woops into second jump Second Jump followed by small burm Small lip into into uneven decent into the last burm/beginning Perhaps this is a good start for a youngster on his/her first bike I failed to mention that I was born in 1995. This track was fun to start with but it was not long until this simply wasn't enough I started to build this line which opposed the direction of the original track. But the idea was to jump this, hit the small burm and then go onto hit a big jump.. But I got distracted by what I accidentally created. A little dodgy I know, this is the creation of when you can no longer be bothered digging and use random items to fill the gaps. Imagining is a great thing to do and to visualize is even better ! I took photos of my jumps and drawn on them with my smart phone. Little did I know this was going to be the most crashed jump of my life (so far) This was the beginning of my laziest effort. Pallet down ramp. These are pretty great if done well. -Level the area for stable stacking of pallets -Use pallets to fill most of desired down ramp space. -Then put any type of thick wood on top (helps spread the load and not crack pallets) -Then carpet so soil doesn't fall through the cracks -Last add soil/clay and lots of it ! I learnt the hard way (not the greatest effort on the jump but it puts the size in perspective a little) This jump quickly became our favourite And the little track quickly got forgotten and over grown. My lust for a bigger and greater jump and had clouded my mind... And with bigger jumps you soon require a bigger bike and this is when I upgraded to the KLX110L 2016 My stupidness resulted in this creation It stood at about 6ft And shook in the breeze After the result of poor pallet down ramp I realised making these sketchy jumps is dangerous and requires a lot of maintenance. So I contacted a lot of earth moving companies. And tried finding companies that were working on clay sites. This was free for me and should be for you. Each load of dirt 15-20t costs roughly $450 to dump in some parts of Australia. So I offered free dumping within my yard, I get dirt for jumps and they save a lot of money, win win. My first load arrived, roughly 17t of dirt.... it sounds like a lot but it really is not. I got these big crate boxes from work and screwed a door across the top of them to help spread the load. The crates are only there to try and save anybody that is lacking the correct speed. Progress was slow, but I needed to move this first load up against the crates as much as possible to allow the track to back in closer to the pallets. When I cant be bothered digging or don't have the dirt. I like to visualize what it will be like in the end Finally destroyed the old ramp and created a new one with the most desired material. That's what 4 days afterwork of my digging looks like (4 hours a night), worth the giant blisters This is about 22-26ft jump which is a good/fun size I believe. This is currently where I am at but I do think my plans are pretty great This is the plan for the future Apologies for not numbering the above photo The yellow jump with the 16 beside it is my pallet jump which is jump #1 And the second large jump of 21ft is the orange one that follows and that is jump #2 From now I ask that you use your imagination and hopefully can figure out which ones are which in regards to the following images. This one is Jump # 3 Note the burm will not swing around the tree and go to the left. This will be a bit of a hip and send you into a right hand turn quickly followed by a left as shown on the birds eye view. #4 is going to be a pretty hectic step down that I am already scared of the idea ! #5 is going to be a 25ft hip #6 is going to be roughly a 20ft triple (rollable) #7 will be a 17-18ft tabletop #8 and #9 need to swap as I think double-table-double would flow a lot nicer rhythm wise.... #11 a good sized triple roughly 18ft Into a hopefully very vertical burm Then into a +20ft hip to finish it off through the trees Hope you've enjoyed this read so far. I will keep you updated with the progression of the rest of the track. Please feel free to give me tips (other than spelling) in regards to the track and ideas. Cheers Jackson
  7. I had recently bought a new project mini bike yesterday and was wondering where I could find someone who could restore engines, buying a new one seems like a possibly cheaper way to go but I was thinking having the old rusty but running look would look cooler. First image is 49cc engine. Trashed gas tank due to needing a bigger one for more gas and placement, pull string is jammed but probably easy fix, needs new carburetor and possibly spark plug. The broken side( where the wiring is on the right side of image area) confused me on what it was supposed to be, still had the bulb for pushing in to get gas/air to mix. Any help would be appreciated. The bike model is unknown.
  8. Hey guys, I've used this forum as a "guest" for awhile now and I thought I'd share my build now that it's all coming together. The primary purpose of this project is to help me train for roadracing my 2009 R1 at lower speeds as well as giving me a cheap alternative to racing the big bike. Here's what she looked like when I picked it up from a local shop. Paid $800 cash for the bike as you see it with 17' rims, FMF pipe, EBC 250mm front rotor and clip on handle bars. Fits PERFECT! Shake down run at the Herrin Compound last summer: As she sits today:
  9. Okay so I have an Azusa Minibike Kit, and I got it all together with a Predator 212cc Engine from Harbor Freight. Here is the problem, the chain will come off after about a minute of riding, its as tight as I could get it, its straight in line with the sprocket and clutch Any ideas? Anyone have this problem before? Thanks
  10. Here's some pics of the double decker bike storage rack I made for my two 'kid' bikes. (TTR90 and BW80) (and yes, they really are for my kids) I wanted/needed to free up some space in garage, and be able to freely move them around as needed. Plus, the upper one is at a good height for service. Designed on Google Sketchup, fab'd and MIG welded at home. All 2" square tubing, except the sliding sleeve, which is 2.25" square. The lower legs and 'spine' are 3/16 wall thickness. The 'upper' level is 0.090" and 0.110" Plywood is 3/4". Caster wheels are 1/2-13 threaded direct into the lower legs. Pully system is 1Ton, worm gear hand crank boat trailer winch from HF. Approx 26" x 52" foot print, 6foot total height. Probably weighs 60lbs. I use my cordless drill to raise and lower the platform. Can use hand crank as backup. I load tested it with my fat butt, and Im 6'6" 230lbs. Enjoy the pics.
  11. Hey everyone, I have a small Azusa Minibike kit that I put a Harbor Freight Predator 212cc engine on and I'm having some issues with the engine. I had taken some components off it after hearing some strange noises now the rip cord locks up solid when you go to pull it to start the engine. It is not seized up because when the spark plug is removed it can turn 100% freely. You literally lift the bike up when trying to pull on it, it's completely locked up. Any ideas or has anyone had this/ a similar issue? Let me know, Kind Regards GriffDog
  12. Hello friends, It's been two weeks now since we purchased our 2007 Honda CRF50F, and my 8-year-old has really taken to it. I'm so impressed how he can run the whole show himself, from getting it out of the garage, to starting it up (ignition, fuel, choke and all, correctly) and putting it away when he's done. He has also impressed me with his comprehension of the gearing, and knowing when to shift. Here's a short video of him in action from this afternoon.
  13. Hey i got a 2015 SSR 125. My bike does this weird thing where when you kickstart it, it pops back up. I changed the carb, wiring, stator, flywheel, and even tried to time it. I dont know whats happening with the bike buti feel like i might break somthing if i keep trying. It makes a weird sound when you kick it. The best way I can describe it is like air poping back up.
